  1. Looks great. I have a bit of a case fetish so this is right up my street!!

And I dare say you will only see any difference in one piece of studio quality kit if the rest of the path is as good quality - so it’s all or nothing!

I should add that my laughing emoji is about the first part of your post, not the last part which sounds awful, sorry
  4. Im curious what sort of pain you experience when using a bassboard? I use mine all the time with headphones and for me it’s so much better than using an amp at home and worrying I’m annoying someone. If it’s pain from standing, why not put a chair on it. That’s what I do, it’s great!
  5. TC Polytune is amazing. They now do some without the ‘poly’ called the Unitune. Perfect for bass 👍🏼

@Jus Lukin is now owned and maintained by BAE Sound Ltd and is a prototype half man half walking studio compressor unit with two line inputs (one at each end). He is available for live work and can be booked to come to you so you can record the perfect bass sound from the comfort of your own home, all for the price of a Basschat Approved English Bassist Breakfast
  7. I also have another strap for my basses with Dunlop locks - this Ibanez strap is great, but didn’t really suit the P
  8. Ah yes sorry here’s the guy: I found it after looking for ‘leather guitar strap’ and going through tons of pages looking for what I wanted. Good thing about etsy is that if you see something vaguely similar most people will do you a one off. This was cheaper than his usual because it doesn’t have the tooling along the length. I think it was about £40 https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/Zutopiart?ref=s2-header-shopname&listing_id=400603561
  9. These are great basses for the money 👍🏼👍🏼

    Zoom B1 Four

There are enough DI style things out there but it quite what we want. Let’s design our own call it the Bchat
  11. Only if you can 100% guarantee it’s not a belt sander job 😂
  12. I think ‘Genuine Mojo’ refers to wear and tear created in real life as opposed to a ‘relic’ job
  13. They’re brilliant little stands. Absolutely tiny when folded!
  14. Probably an Excess 5 in red 😎 won’t happen any time soon though!!
  15. Gotta love a Vigier neck. My friend has an Excalibur guitar and even that feels perfect in my hand and I can’t play guitar. Nearly bought an Excess 5 like your amber one a few years ago but couldn’t afford it - think I’ll get one eventually. Never say never!
  16. Don’t want to rain on your parade but those little stands are great however the bass does mean back quite a bit so in some aspects they take up more room - don’t get me wrong I have one too and they’re amazing but I have a neck grab type too which has a smaller ‘footprint’ kinda as shown here. Depending on your intended purpose that may or may not be an issue
  17. You’re right, something about the shape of these just looks right. Vigier have some excellent design language. I’m not sure about the pickups actually, as all the Vigs I’ve owned have been old models. However I know Mr. Benedetti passed away and that meant no more pickups. I have a feeling the new ones are made by Delano but could be wrong. Patrice Vigier will tell you if you send him an email, he’s a cool guy and I met him at the London bass show a couple of years ago. Love the purple. Never seen one like that before. Enjoy!!
  18. Yeah I caught him downloading the Real Book
  19. Ok now he’s claimed this bass as his own!
  20. Glad it sorted itself, guess you had to refresh the page so it noticed your sub? Anyway let me know if I can help with anything else and thanks for subbing 👍🏻
  21. How do you actually update the pedal, I know it says something about the Midi in, but what cable does one need and what’s the other end? @neilmurraybass sorry let me know if you’d like us to get our own thread!
  22. “All in the fingers” brigade in 3...2...1... 😂
  23. Ah sorry I missed that detail. Someone PM sting!
  24. The J pickup would be noisy, for a start. Otherwise I’m not sure there would be a great deal of difference; after all a split P pickup is basically a J pickup cut in half.... Thats before you start looking at how different pickups of the same type sound, but in principle, similar. For example G&L used a single jail ‘Jazz’ shape pickup in their early P bass types. Being an MFD pickup it was extremely high output so whilst a single coil is noisy, the signal to noise ratio was ok, however it was later split into a humbucking type.
