    Zoom B1 Four

Yep I paid £20 for my B1on so frankly I’m just pleased it works, but it doesn’t stop me wishing someone would make a top quality battery powered modelling multi fx headphone unit. Come on Roland!
  2. I saw a band recently who were all using IEMs and it was the best sound out front I’ve ever heard.
  3. Yeah it does work! I think even better on basses with big frets. Good tip 👍🏼
  4. Because the website is a complete mess - reminds me of websites from 1999 😂
  5. You posted this twice so I’ve hidden the other thread. Cheers 👍🏻
  6. This one’s my most mojoed There must be more out there!
  7. Awesome, so was the blue just a weird picture or a stage of the ultimately black finish? When’s it going to arrive!? Welcome to the club
  8. You can view your current attachments here if you want to clear some, but I agree putting a YouTube link is probably more efficient.

    Roland gr55

Not a GR55 but I have a GR20 and I use the VB99. Anything we can help with?
  10. Another useful feature is some pre-delay so the reverb doesn’t muddy up your initial note but comes in slightly behind it.
  11. Hi sorry I don’t know this one - but yes probably better to embed a YouTube link anyway as if you upload it I don’t think it’ll play in the browser but will have to be downloaded

    Zoom B1 Four

Ah from memory the Avalon model has something like seven settings that seem to act like a pre shape or something. ‘Off’ or possibly ‘1’ seems like the flat setting which is what I use. Just checked, they’re called ‘tone banks’ which is why zoom called it tone so it’s not like you’d expect a tone control to work

    Zoom B1 Four

    It’s a B1on so the B3 might be better.
  14. Love this. Is there any way it can be internally modified to accept UK voltage?

    Zoom B1 Four

I'll try and record an example later today and do a non-noisy one for comparison

    Zoom B1 Four

I use mine with batteries. There's noise under the notes as it decays, hardly noticeable but once you hear it it's annoying. It's almost like a 'breathing' sound and at first I thought could be noise created by the limiter but it does it when just using one of the pre-amp models. It kicks in about half a second after hitting a string and decays and comes back as the note fades until it breaks up and the note stops, at which point it sounds a bit like an aggressive noise gate would. My 'clean' patch is the Avalon DI model with the tone setting off, a reverb and limiter, but you get the noise with everything turned off. So I don't think it's to do with the effects themselves but the digital processing of the unit as a whole. I doubt it'll be noticeable though an amplifier to be honest, and for the price it's a great little tool but not 'studio' quality; hardly surprising for the price though.
  17. Hi Nick That will work fine. No need for any software unless you want to record, then you can use something like GarageBand which meets most needs. Otherwise if you’re just playing along with stuff you can play music from Spotify, YouTube etc and it’ll come through the interface to your mixer. Adjust the bass level to match and you’re good to go 👍🏻 If I may make an extreme but excellent suggestion, and you really want to fritter away some money on something extra, then having a Tecamp BassBoard in addition to headphones makes you feel like you’re on stage. Get one of those, too 😛
  18. Bargain. These are excellent amps and with a spectracomp tone print loaded it has a superb compressor built in!

Wow I didn't notice! I'll get working on my speech! It would be right of you to commemorate this occasion with a new bass.

    Zoom B1 Four

Well, I have a B1on but I rarely use it - VB99 is my unit The Zoom is fun for travel though.
