  1. Cool avatar Wuff-wuff!
  2. John Hall’s going to be all over this. Better watch out, Fox!
  3. I should change our description on google to this 😂
  4. When I’m happy with my instruments I start looking at accessories. The perfect strap to match the bass. Gig bags. Even strap pins. I’m the same with watches - having more watch straps and pin bars, cases and pouches than I know what to do with. At least that stuff is cheap(er) but it all adds up. I’ve had to tighten my belt a fair bit recently so have been able to reduce spending quite a lot as I’m very happy with what I have.
  5. Disappointing to hear. I used to work with them but for the last couple of years they don't reply to me either. Guess they don't want the business.
  6. Pretty sure it’ll be parallel as series won’t give you pickup blend options?
  7. I’ve used Kompoz before. I just visited again with a view to doing some more collabs and I see it’s been massively updated and improved. Worth a go I think, I’m sure it’s mostly free but think you can pay for an upgrade that gives you extra features if you use it a lot. Cheers

Thanks for the FX list. I don’t get much/any noise when not playing so haven’t used the ZNR it’s more the digital noise under the notes. I’ll just have to try one.

This is worth highlighting separately because it basically sums up exactly the opposite of what I do with my life 😂

Still tempted with a B14 if it’s really less noisy. Guess the only way to know is to try one! Does it have that ‘ensemble’ effect from the B1on?

I see your point too. However playing bass is a hobby for me and I enjoy being able to tell the difference between two types of compressor or whatever it might be. If I just wanted to do what the lowest common denominator could ascertain then I’d probably enjoy playing a lot less. I think we’ve posted before that if you’re happy, you okay better. Whether that’s because you’ve simplified your rig and love that it’s easier and cheaper, that’s awesome. And I’ve done that too. But the audience factor very little in my rig decisions because like others have said, they wouldn’t notice if I played keyboard bass.

Why do we constantly judge what we do in relation to whether an average audience member will notice? Do you only wear shoes because other people do?
  13. What have you tried so far? What’s your budget? Any examples of songs where you like the bass sound? We’re going to need more info as many of the things you describe are subjective and you’re only going to get people recommending what they use!
  14. Not better, just different. EQ can’t mimic a pickup placement whatever you do to it!
  15. Saw these guys live this week, it was absolutely fantastic. The guy playing saxophone and flute was just amazing and they had some extended jams. @bubinga5 think you should check them out 👍🏻
  16. Big Patton fan here. Here's my fave piece of work so far:
  17. Yes completely! I play my P bass very differently to my Smith. I deliberately keep them both because they sound, feel and play totally differently. Together they cover a lot of ground. The synth equipped basses are different again; obviously my mini bass is completely different and my Vigier feels like an old favourite jumper. The proof for me is that if I pick up a bass I don’t like (aesthetically or in feel) then I just don’t feel inspired to play anything in particular. Guess it’s like cars - I drive my big estate car quite differently to my previous saloon shaped one even though they have the same engine. You just pick up in the vibe from the object, be it bass, car, whatever. If there’s no vibe then I move on to something else.
  18. I’ve put the ads back up last night so our publisher can track down the redirects and stop them. It shouldn’t take them long so if you still get them today just hang in there and I’ll update when it’s sorted. Cheers
  19. There’s not, sorry - however soon it’ll fill up with new stuff.
  20. I bet you ordered 6mm shaft sized pots but the actual shafts are 6.35mm or 1/4”
  21. Interesting you say that. I tend to play mine with a totally different hand position, side on the bridge, and use three fingers and palm muting. I’m used to a really low action so I don’t find any issue with hammers but I’m using standard strings so probably just used to them.
  22. Les ‘built in’ and more ‘stuck on with foam tape’ 😂
