  1. Great, can you record anything for us to listen to?
  2. Not sure exactly, I never measure anything (except knobs!) but the response is really even. Great sounding pickup.
  3. That’s just a bit of tape to stop me touching them. Was going to use clear nail polish but didn’t get round to it yet 👍🏼
  4. I think they had them but postage was a rip off I ended up getting them on eBay https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F352179961862 Still not cheap but the best I could find! I think they’re 99% right, they don’t quite cover the nut of the pot but near enough 🤙
  5. Fitted the ‘radio’ knobs. I like ‘em - much easier to see where the controls are at, and I do tend to use the tone knob a lot - even the volume given how the pickup character changes through its travel.
  6. Just adding mine here. I’ve had a few Ps in my time, and, like many, my first bass was a P.
  7. Need a box to post a bass? This box will fit a normal sized hard case. Collect from York!
  8. Absolutely. Thanks. Just not a good week for me, all things considered. Cheers.
  9. Posts always appear in chronological order apart from this forum where things can be voted up or down. Even so, you can still change to chronological order if you can find the button (I’ll wait) Granted you didn’t see the announcement, so I directed you to it straight away. You’d didn’t miss that. You took me on with some very rude and disrespectful comments which were completely uncalled for. YOU made it personal. It’s not banter. It’s massively rude and I take it really personally when I’m told by someone that I’m purposely putting pop up ads on the site to fleece you. This site is my livelihood which feeds my family and although it might be entertaining for you to speak to me like you did, it’s the last thing I need at the moment with everything I have going on As I said I’ll accept an apology. Thanks
  10. Hope the popup was for Booth opticians, because you obviously missed the bit where I said (from day one) they weren't actually permanent...
  11. I’m going to regret asking this but... Err why?
  12. I think it’s great watching people enjoying the groove, whatever the genre or instrument. Look how much fun they’re all having here, even if you don’t like the tune (I do) then who could begrudge someone playing bass and enjoying it? Isn’t that what we all want? Isn't that what all this is ultimately about?
  13. Rules are rules, TB have a set and you have to stick to them if you want to use it. Fair enough I’d say. Mods often get a hard time but they don’t do the work for the enjoyment of correcting sweary members, believe me.
  14. Here you go Found using search engine, though just the word ‘culture’ in the feedback forum - your username makes searching for the whole term bring too many results especially as it has the word ‘bass’ in it! Cheers
  15. Exactly. Imagine walking into Bass Direct and not being able to discuss what’s on sale.
  16. Is the depot localish and open tomorrow? Go get it if so, just in case!
  17. Sounds like every link should redirect to a picture of a Vigier
  18. My dog looks at me the same way when I take pics of my bass
  19. I play most of the time at home in my office so I have over the years built a nice little setup in here. Bass goes into a Roland VB99 and GR20, then to my headphones. Output of VB99 goes to a TC BH800 which powers a TecAmp BassBoard which gives me the rumble and feel of being in front of a massive rig without producing much noise at all. The Roland is also connected by USB to my computer so the computer sees it as an audio interface and all the music I play on it comes through my headphones and bass board too. At the time the VB99 was an indulgence but it does everything, any effect I want, even virtual pickups. I can't say enough about it and I still find new things to do with it; I've probably only explored about 50% of it's capability. More often than not, with non Roland pickup equipped basses, I use it as above as a really excellent quality preamp/effects unit. I dare say something like a Helix is a similar idea, without the polyphonic and multi string functions which can only be accessed with a Roland pickup. I love having everything in one box, getting to know it and how to get what you want from it. Plus the form factor means it sits nicely next to my desk and it's at eye level for fiddling 'on the fly' With a four month old baby at home I like knowing I can put my cans on, switch on my system and be in bass nirvana within seconds. Wife is also happy with me being out of the way :)
  20. Normally I like to sell the space to a bass related company like Elixir and Rotosound and the London Bass Guitar Show. The other ads are supplied to fill in the gaps when we don't have a specific ad booked there. I could get rid of them entirely if we had more people subbing, maybe another 50 people a month. Originally they were put in place because we had companies beating our door down asking for them, but the game seems to have changed and I'm finding it hard work filling them myself. Normally I get so far then the company stop responding. So when they're all set up properly, they help keep us afloat. Pop ups were never part of the plan and as I have said in various places many times so far, they will be gone soon. I don't like them any more than anyone else and agree they just put people off.
  21. I don't know if it fits the type of bass you're trying to recreate but how about buying an anodised aluminium plate and ageing that - would probably be easier to scratch up and wear down in places?
  22. All yours are turned off except for getting a PM @mark76 Do you know how to change them, if not I can show you when I get home in an hour or so
  23. @charic has this changed since update? Didn’t think so?
  24. You got me. Ever since 2001 the plan has been to install a Boots pop up ad 🙄
