I got quite used to the neck cover on a jazz although mine was a thinner type you still see on Atelier-z and sadowsky basses. Now I don’t own a jazz so no covers either.

There's also this register http://www.guitarsbyleo.com/AUTOREG/interact2.php3?registry_id=1

I tried loads of straps and indeed it became a bit of an obsession at one point. THE softest and most comfortable I have is made from ethically sourced Buffalo leather 🐃 It’s a single layer, suede like on the inside, it literally flops into a heap when removed. I just bought another from eBay here https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F133055968613 Bit of a pain it’s from the US but we’ll worth it, it’ll last you forever!

Yeah I was going to say gearslutz too but I’m not averse to trying a live sound forum and sales area if there’s a call for it.

Yes I think so, unless you have a PA amp which could feed the board, then EQ that channel for bass and low mids only (which is what I do at home for playing along to music) Something like a TE Elf would probably give enough juice to power the board though - mine’s an older one and can’t remember the power handling but don’t think of it in terms of powering a speaker, as you’re standing in it you can feel it easily at low power levels. It’s a bit like placing your finger on a speaker to feel the bass which you otherwise can’t hear, in a car or something.

I use this amazing roll on called Perspirex which says you can use it on your hands. I don’t sweat that much but wanted to try it under arm because I got annoyed with those other brands that say they work but don’t. I went for the full strength one and didn’t sweat for a whole fortnight lol. Now I use the light version and it still works for days on end!

To drive the board, yes. Think of it as an 8ohm speaker. Because you can’t ‘hear’ it then a cheap but powerful head will work. I use a TC BH800 which gives me the option of connecting a cab for monitoring too if I want.

Proper Sicilian lemons too, I bet 🍋

I’m in touch with the Glarry people so I’ll see if I can get them to give us some to try out.

Hi Bill The message you’ve sent can be seen by everyone (including the member selling the magazines) so he’ll no doubt be in touch soon. The best option is to send a ‘private message’ to him so you can talk in private to arrange the purchase. You can do this by clicking here: https://www.basschat.co.uk/messenger/compose/?to=20 Also you might want to remove your phone number from public view; let me know and I can remove it from the posts above for you. Cheers 🍻

Whereas my advice would be get one you like the look of. Worry about the sound and feel when you get the next one.

...because you've already posted it here?

Interesting - I’ve tried all the other coated strings and still prefer Elixirs by a long way but I’ll try these too.

Sweet bass, congrats. Love the SR5 shape.

I can do it for you (as you can see!) - what would you like?

Could be part of his sponsorship agreement 😂
