  1. I don't know why people bother with home practice combos - I've never been happy with the sound of them or even if I like the sound I don't like playing them loudly for fear of annoying people, rattling everything in the room or someone hearing me! Also at low volumes I don't like hearing the bass itself (as in acoustically) over the amplified sound. Much better isolation and immersive experience in complete privacy when using a headphone setup.
  2. Thanks very kind of you to think of me. I’ve got a family thing in the way but it could possibly happen on Sunday, just have to wait and see! I’m going to arrange a York bash though at some point.
  3. Something tells me I’ll be returning from said bash with one empty gig bag and a new ‘acoustic’ bass 🤔😂
  4. Think it’s 300 each. Yeah Armstrong makes them so should be easy to copy.
  5. I’m finding the Cobalt flats excellent; plenty of bite when you want it but really controllable with the tone knob. They also have a really thick ‘pop’ sound. Like the feel of them too, not too ‘glassy’ like some I have tried.
  6. Yeah I’m going to try and make it!!
  7. Thanks to @The Bucket for a timely dispatch which fit in just perfectly with my scheme! 🍺 Cheers 🍻
  8. I can do it for you if you send me the pic you want 👍🏻
  9. Here you go:
  10. Are you using mobile view?

  12. Quick update from me - the case arrived at about 4pm today, approx 30 mins before the wife arrived home. Ample time to un-box, cut up said box and scatter around the town in various bins and tuck case inconspicuously in the office!

    New BC search engine

Is nobody excited by the elastic search? It would make a good band name...
  14. Bought a bass bag from Max, item was very well packed and shipped quickly. Thanks again 🙅‍♂️
  15. Lovely, really nice grain on that one. Enjoy 😎
  16. Hi guys Today we started using a better and faster search engine for Basschat. Elasticsearch allows much faster searching, more accurate results and works for shorter search terms which it didn't before. It'll also make the site faster when browsing. We hope you find it more useful. Now go and use it to find your next bass, or to argue with someone about something Cheers ped
  17. Was it adequately insured?
  18. Looking forward to pics!!
  19. Very nice, I haven't ever tried an LB100, I'd be interested to compare.
  20. There's a Basschat discount code for New Moon insurance, too - you'll get one month free.
  21. Got the bass back yesterday from a tech in York who sorted the grounding issue - in fact it was more of a shielding problem. Three layers of conductive paint, foil backing on the 'plate, new grounding for the bridge and pots and it's whisper quiet now.
  22. I think it might be based on when the avatar was uploaded - haven't got an answer to that particular Q yet
  23. Well it looks like @bubinga5 is dead
