  2. Looks like the finish was stripped on that one. But, best sound ever, well who can say no
  3. Who is HW?
  4. Surely most of them voted for him, so maybe not?
  5. I like how they've used a Haz pedal in the article as an example of the 'real thing'. Who writes this stuff? Musitronics seem very badly run as a company, and you could argue that this goes back to the root of the problem in the first place. They always seem quite grumpy about 'copes' and yet don't seem to offer anything themselves - or, if you can get your hands on one, I think they've failed to tap into what people like about their original pedals.

Here's a little Meatball demo (after about 1 minute) I have it set to quite lively, no attack, here. Generally I like it to be quite subtle but responsive to any extra dynamics. At about 2:40 I use the Bassballs for a synth sound which works well in almost everything, becoming one of my favourite sounds even though when I first tried the pedal I thought it was ridiculous.

I’ve got (and I’m selling) the 500w 2x10 and powered 1x15 extension. I’ve used it life quite a lot and it sounds fantastic. Only selling because I don’t need such a big on stage sound at the moment. I’ve found it really flexible, full sounding and ‘3D’ sounding (for want if a better word). Previous amp for context was a mesa 400+. I haven’t used the effects that much but they’re nice to have. I tend to use quite a clean sound and these have tons of clean headroom. I have always quite liked the combo format, too - and they look great on stage!
  10. Yeah I had one a while ago and found it very noisy. Could have been a defective unit or maybe a problem elsewhere but I think I sent it back.
  11. Check out the Bassics BPA 01. There’s one on Reverb now. Expensive maybe but top quality and will hold its value.
  12. Sorry about this guys. We’re hoping to have this resolved soon. We’ll update you here asap.

Definitely some of my faves there
  14. Today I am announcing that we’re changing the name to the American Bass. Make it so.
  15. I'm not sure I'm doing it the easiest way, but my workflow is this: Remove bass from backing track with Moises Export track without bass as .wav Put track into Garageband Fire up Quicktime video recorder and record using webcam (2012 iMac hence crap resolution) Hit record in Garageband Stop recording on Quicktime and Garageband Drag video file into Garageband and line up (annoying) Export as video file I'm playing from my pedalboard into my Roland VB99 which is acting as a USB interface and I guess a sort of pre-amp (I'm using some cab sim and slight EQ) There must be an easier way
  16. Just a snippet of A Perfect Circle to demonstrate my Valco Distortion, then Fuzz
  17. Jeff Cascaro - Do You Believe (complete with mistakes)
  18. Here are some more: This one features the Lovetone Meatball and towards the end, my Bassballs for a synthy vibe:
  19. The body shape differences are quite apparent side by side. The top horn on the JMJ is more open and the mass behind the bridge. Lower horn is a bit chunkier. Is one for flats and one for rounds? How do you find they compare?
  20. OK well two coils behaving slightly differently but next to each other gives a similar effect lending to a P bass sound more than a normal humbucker. My L2000 did a very nice P in that mode (I forget what everything else was set but I think a bass cut in combination with the OMG?)
  21. Good call. I forget the details but doesn’t the MFD have one extra hot coil in OMG mode? Any dual coil humbucking pickup with one hotter coil will do a great P sound. That’s why I got a Gemini Degenerate Tbird pickup in my Mustang.
  22. Like yours, mine intonated ok with the originals but I got a bit paranoid about one popping off during a gig. I think later basses actually moved the bridge slightly closer to the neck, thereby moving the saddles back to compensate.
