  1. Well whatever your opinion, Nathan East obviously thinks the design has purpose!
  2. Couldn't agree more - and they have such a flexible pre-amp and a vast array of usable sounds. Lovely things
  3. Very nice indeed!! I've had two Arpege basses, a series II fretted and a series I fretless 5. Beautiful basses, probably my favourite body shape. Yours looks like it's in amazing condition. I always found the brass laminate neck really stable, I don't think i ever had to adjust my series I once I had it set up. Shame these aren't better known but for those of us who have tried one, they're a well kept secret! Enjoy!!
  4. I think it's pretty cool, personally - also don't think 10lbs (4.5kg) is THAT bad, for a six string. It probably 'wears' really well (for Nathan, at least). Good for him for getting something a bit out of the ordinary. FWIW I think headless basses look much better with a futuristic body style like this.

    Zoom B1 Four

As you might know I use a similar device, the Roland VB99, at home - it’s kind of like a B1on in principle and I suppose it’s spoilt me for anything else but I do find the B1on really handy for taking out with the Wingbass; it even fits in the tiny gig bag pocket! I agree it sounds great for the price/size. Like you I managed to make a pretty quiet ‘clean’ patch which was created by delicately balancing the pre and effects (tend to use reverb) and also the limiter. There’s still some digital noise at the end of a long note as it starts to decay but hardly an issue for the price of the thing. However it doesn’t stop me thinking how great it would be to have a perfect sounding version. Or maybe I could stuff batteries in the VB99 🤔

    Zoom B1 Four

I the actual sound processing better then the B1on? I find mine OK for messing about when travelling with my mini bass, but it's a tad noisy on some settings.
  8. Always good to see more vids!
  9. I had the Amplug - thought it was terrible; noisy, badly made and sounded horrible! Hopefully these are better - not that I'll be bidding :0)
  10. With something like a bass which is quite a narrow surface I always try and separate the bass from the background, either with physical distance or by using something plain behind it. Ideally a camera with some control over the depth of field will allow you to make the background blurry so the bass ‘pops’
  11. ...and the opposite of what I thought!!
  12. Same process really, it’s the fingerboard material that matters. Normally this will be some sort of plastic resin which may allow the frets to be removed without the splintering you get with wood. However often the neck and fretboard will be coated together as one piece so it might crack the varnish/finish but I guess you get wooden necks like that too. Edit: may well be incorrect, stand to be corrected by our resident experts. I just recall talking to someone who had a carbon necked Vigier converted

    Ramp??

Doesn't mean people shouldn't use them - some brilliant players even manage to get by with P basses!
  15. Yep no problem, just send me he links in a PM and I'll combine them
  16. Just search for the username in that forum, and it'll find the thread. Some people have a link to their thread in their profile. I don't think it's possible for us to embed it into their profile page but it might be at some point if the software allows.

    Ramp??

Doesn’t function like a ramp though, the whole thing with a ramp is the feel under the plucking fingers. It’s use as a thumbrest is secondary.
  18. Travelling without moving!
  19. How can you do one without doing the other lol
  20. I met Mr. Hellborg and all we talked about was paintball
  21. Yeah get the Tecamp Also worth mentioning having toneprint is great because if you load in the Spectracomp you’ll have a better compressor than most heads with it ‘built in’
  22. Move along then
  23. You realise when you post one of these threads that’s me gone for the evening listening to music for hours!!
