  1. Hi guys I’ve got a VGC never gigged BH800 I’d like to trade for a LWA 1000. Anyone interested? I think the value is about the same. I’m in York but travelling to Oxford in half term if that helps. Long shot but worth a try!
  2. I think it’s a good thing - it gives the smaller guys a look in at a more accessible price range. Nobody has to spend 5k on a bass. Look at the price of handmade furniture. You can spend £100 or £10000 on a chest of drawers. Bass guitars are cheap, really, considering how handmade some of them are. And you can’t play a chest of drawers.
  3. If my order books were full and people were queuing up to pay £5k for one of my instruments, I’d charge £5k
  4. Did the price of Ken Smith basses drop when they moved from NY to Pennsylvania? Don’t think so! Once the brand is established and the quality is known, the prices can remain high because the order books are still full.
  5. And my lack of desire to be a session player
  6. With all due respect I don’t think possession of a P bass is the main factor in me not being a first call LA session legend 😂
  7. I gave myself a warning
  8. The forum is only as good as it’s members, so feel free to help us. Start by reporting the stuff you’ve just mentioned and we’ll get on it immediately. We always do.
  9. Report button on mobile
  10. ...and don’t ever read YouTube comments!
  11. I’d also add that having been on the forum since day one, there’s been no discernible change and we’ve had this topic now and then, it always goes in cycles. Finally, another mention for the report button. Did you report any of it?
  12. I think you’ll find we’re well known for being a very open and friendly forum. Naturally things get heated now and then but usually during the holidays when people are stressed. At the end of the day, be the change you want to see. More often than not any ‘hostility’ is closed down by sensible members. Also, there’s a report button.
  13. My pleasure chaps
  14. Do you play left handed too David?!
  15. Well this is nice
  16. If you’re looking at this thinking “what the hell” believe me, if you have one you’ll use it all the time. They sound massive and are lovely to play. Awesome fun!
  17. Probably because they checked if it was 'in stock' and it was, sort of, on the Mir Space Station
  18. Yeah he doesn’t ever reply. Don’t know why he gives an email address....
  19. I recently was given a Vovox cable and although sceptical at first (its about £100!) I noticed a clear difference using it. I think they have a lifetime warranty too. But yeah if you’re paying I expect OBBMs cables to be the best VFM
  20. You should get more involved in the forum Hugh
  21. Agree totally.
  22. I’m thinking about a Teenage Engineering OP-Z
  23. I tend to use YouTube, type in the BPM and 'drum groove' there are loads.
  24. More info here
  25. If I was dealing with an online retailer I’d obviously agree that in stock and the delivery date mean it’s not going to be with me any time soon. However as they have a physical shop I thought I could pick up an item that’s ‘in stock’ instead of having it delivered. Wrong. It’s not in stock at the shop. To me, that means they need to clarify what they mean. Good examole is Argos. If an item is in stock it says so, otherwise it says which store it’s at or whether it’s just online. If it’s not in stock and requires ordering from their supplier it says not in stock because as far as the buyer is concerned, it isn’t.
