Thanks, I did think about it but the pot is behind the pcb and a bit fiddly otherwise I may have tried myself. Finding somewhere to repair it could have been a pain and it probably wouldn’t be worth the same as an original un-repaired unit (however crazy that might be) so I decided to return it and get another. I’ve had some issues with pedal ‘repairs’ in the past and can’t be bothered with the cost and delay!

Had a bit of a play last night alongside my Mutron III+ (The Musitronics one is away getting a true bypass). Unfortunately there's an issue with the decay knob. The seller mentioned that it had 'fallen off' when he packaged the pedal, but wasn't too clear about what he meant, so he said he'd send it and let me have a look/try, and refund if I decided. Very kind of him. So when it arrived, I was at work - the knob seemed solid, and seemed to turn, albeit with a bit more resistance than the others. I took it to band practice where I had a brief play but more to check it worked. Last night I had a proper play and found that the knob was spinning but the shaft was locked solid. Even so, it seemed that the decay was stuck at a point which sounded great, rather a slow decay which on my preferred second highest range setting sounded near identical to the Mutron. I really like how the colour adds some wobbly resonance to the sound, kind of like the Wonderlove that I had briefly, but warmer and less peaky, and less 'vowelly' for want of a better term! It's definitely an amazing sounding filter, and I'll replace it with a better condition one at some point, or a clone maybe. I think being able to dial back the decay will lead to some really farty squelchy sounds which I'd be interested to try. IME a fast attack and slightly slower decay in band pass mode with some clean blend is my other favourite envelope sound, akin to the FX25 in terms of growl, but without the massive resonant peak. Once I get another I promise I'll do a video comparing it, the II and the II+, the Qtron and the Qtron+ but I might need to borrow a looper pedal!

Meatball has arrived. Only had a shirt play as it arrived just before practice last night but rather liking it so far. I like having four steps on the range filter and a blend for when using band pass mode. It’s not lost on me how the enclosure is the same as my Valco pedals (which I love). First impressions are that it does the same mutron quack after some hunting around, and there will be a lot of other sounds here too. Plus it’s true bypass and has an indicator light for the input gain and on/off. Only tried on batteries so far but will feed it a 12v supply and see what that does.

Awesome isn't it. i joined a band a few months ago and used (and still use) Moises to learn the tracks. As well as isolating tracks you can slow down and speed up without changing pitch, use a smart metronome, loop sections and auto detect song sections. The best thing is that the desktop app syncs across all your devices so everything on my desktop is on my phone too. I also have the Boss Waza which are a great companion as you say, but I use Moises at home through my main headphone setup too. Pretty much every day now! -
Another +1 for Gemini, I have a Tbird and Rick pickup from them and they're fantastic, so nicely made.

I've got a Lovetone Meatball on the way! Always wanted to try one. At the same time, I've finally been able to send my Mutron III off to Soundgas (where I got it from) so they can do a true bypass mod for it

The old system needed replacing entirely, which consisted of a high pressure non-combi boiler and various tanks etc. neighbours had the same done a few years ago which didnt coast that much but the plumber assured me that mines better so I can remind them all the time and ‘everything’s gone up m8’
-
...that's right, a gas boiler. To think of the basses I could have bought instead, but I guess warmth is OK. Luckily I had some savings so we could have the old system replaced entirely, which was on its last legs. It would be good if some of you could say some nice things about it
-
Can I have one too

If the wring is OK, would putting one of the pickups in the wrong way round lead to the phase issue?

If you want to sell it, pay for an advert. You’ve already been warned once 🙄

Seems like the conversation has turned into analogue vs digital multi fx. Sort of proved my point and I’m sure that bad experiences with digital multis puts people off digital entirely, which is a shame. It’s a bit like being put off cereal because you tried dry weetabix

Ah I missed that they were rounds. Pretty sure Baxter would put whatever you want on for that price though!

Some people really like super old strings, so without being able to say with certainty that they were original strings, I guess some buyers might like the idea that they might be. I doubt anyone buying this will be buying it because it's functional but I hope I'm wrong!

One of the reasons I don't like sunburst very much is that often you can see the join between two bits of wood, like on the back of this one.

I was listening to ‘Chemistry’ when I saw your post

I mentioned these recently - not as portable, but made with Line6 so potentially something to compete with the Waza on the horizon https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/guitars_basses/amps_accessories/yh-wl500/index.html -
I have massively mixed experiences with digital effects, but comparing the 're-issue' Mutron III+ (digital) with the original really highlighted how little the distinction matters. Despite what people say online, the reissue is capable if getting as near as identical sounds as the original, although it doesn't do the extreme ends of the peak quite so well. In fact I prefer it in many ways, given the extra flexibility from the micro switches inside meaning the 'down' filter is more usable for me. As we all know, it's far too simplistic to say that digital is worse than analogue because there are so many different levels of both; I've had breathtaking digital tech and some which I actively dislike, same goes for analogue. What's definitely true though is that the perception always favours analogue, and the prices/values reflect that - which can be advantageous or not depending on where you sit on the value chain! I'm wondering if people's experience of digital is mostly via multi effects, which are often a compromise at the cheaper end of the scale both in terms of usability and processing power.

I think they're the most elegant take on the J shape there is!

Same, too many strings and too far away! Mind you, I haven't played the one I've got for quite a while. I'll spend some time with it this weekend.

Cool one here on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204479943392?hash=item2f9bf452e0:g:QBIAAOSwHoRlFkaw The fingerboard has a pearloid edge. I had a Bacchus with this feature which looked pretty cool.

It is indeed, mine's been great (fingers crossed)!

Looks great, will be interesting to hear some bass demos.
