  1. Look nice - does it have an 'upright' sort of tone, like the one on the website - or a more modern sound from the pickup?
  2. There's a button in the top right. Only to be used in cases where we can actually do something (abusive language, wrong forum, etc) On mobile it's a little flag icon.
  3. Always buy from an official retailer or from amazon themselves (not a seller ON amazon) Quality is worth paying for. These strings last me at least a year a set so even a £50 pack saves me tons a year.
  4. Yes, someone just made a mistake
  5. There is, but the default forum search calls forum areas ‘topics’ instead for some reason. I’ll see if I can change. In the meantime try the filters as shown. Cheers
  6. If you want me to put you in touch let me know - there may be a deal to be had, if for example you'd be happy for others to try it.
  7. Weird, I haven't noticed that before. Normally the fretless (non delta metal) ones don't have dots, either. Maybe it was a Friday afternoon job. Possibly some strange tuning thing? EDIT: Just called 'Phons, he said: It has the phenowood fingerboard, but with the fret markings in the position they would have on a fretted bass - you have to push down the strings BETWEEN the fret markings, not ON them. See you later ped by the way can you come to my barbec....( I hung up)
  8. The basses in my pic are (L-R) WIngbass Vigier Passion Vigier Arpege Vigier Arpege fretless The pic you posted is Alphonso Johnson trying to look like me. He cals all the time, bit annoying actually. I call him the 'Phons
  9. Welcome, thanks for joining in. Let me know if I can help with any site related questions. Cheers
  10. Yeah they’re alright 🤔 Had one, sold it to buy a car years ago. Now I have the series one fretless five, on the right. This is even rarer, and sounds better.
  11. Ah I see, thanks for confirming that.
  12. Wasn't very easy getting it all in one pic, but here we go. The 'amp' here is my headphones from the VB99 synth and the BH800 under my monitor powers the TecAmp bassboard under me' chair.
  13. Interesting - we have a member names Audioman but it's not him - so was his screen name Audioman?
  14. It's seriously nice when I hear how people enjoy the forum. It's a big pat on the back for the mods, too - it's largely thanks to them that we have such a nice community here. Well done everyone and long may it continue. Sybil
  15. Ah ok well it’s fine with all my Bluetooth things (headphones, Hifi, mini speaker) Just think it might suit the OP as best quality isn’t the factor here.
  16. See if they’ll sell me the plate
  17. It will sync with video on the monitor (for example playing a YouTube video or a game) but agree with anything more specific. But I believe the OP said that wasn’t the case.
  18. I don’t normally watch football but I have seen quite a few matches this time. It’s good for testing surround sound (as is the tennis) and yesterday I spent the time sitting in the sofa cooking up a squelchy synth I’ve called ‘lavatory’ with my mini bass and B1on. Quite a nice afternoon actually. So the answer is - combine both!
  19. Another option is to get a bluetooth mini hifi so you can cut down on wires and keep a headphone socket on the computer. I got an own brand 'Sandstrom' one from Currys and it's great - can't complain at all. This is also useful as you can tell system notifications like email sounds and so on to play from the computer speaker and not through the hifi, so you don't get super loud text alerts at 3am, which can make you jump let me tell you!
  20. It wasn't a goat, it was Sybil <--------
  21. As you can see here, the machines are extremely expensive and very impressive. Each bass has a lot of hand finishing, too.
  22. Yup I rather like it when companies have a sense of humour too. FWIW they stuck a price on it because often they are bought by collectors. I know this because I’ve been to their factory and seen many crazy experiments like this.
  23. As I said, it’s just a bit of fun and basically click bait to get you looking at their website. They often experiment with different finishes and basically have a bit of a laugh making crazy one off basses. Why not? I don’t understand how anyone could call it stupid!
