Come to York for a beer any time [Edit] I'm not actually sure about the get scene in York, it's probably quite good, lots of live venues anyway - but most bands I am tempted to go and see are in Leeds (which puts me off!) Guess it depends what sort of band you're in, too.

Busses in York are pretty good but I think Leeds is better connected like that - not that I go often. The train from York to London is brea, if that's a factor. I moved from Oxford to York and absolutely love it!

You could cut a custom shaped foam insert for a pedalboard bag so it fills the whole thing and adds protection. Could be pretty cool. An option I looked into (mine has a gigbag but I toyed with the idea) would be a ‘light’ flight case. They’re a bit like aluminium briefcases with specially cut inners. Hi Mike We’ve put an announcement in the wanted forum about this. This member has been banned several times now, they always sign up with a username containing the word ‘gear’ and then PM tons of people in the wanted forum. I’ve recently found a way to nip it in the bud so he can no longer do this but it’s still worth warning people. And also glad to hear you didn’t use ‘friends and family’ payment (I assume). Agree with you @Painy and @4000 I like a super low action - but I find the most important thing is very little relief in the neck. This means I can play with a super light touch, and by altering the way I pluck the strings, and position of my right hand, I can go from a clear round note to a raspy burp sound. This has been married to the careful use of a limiter in my signal chain which gives everything a defined 'edge' at which point the clank cuts in. I haven't ever measured my action but I like it lowww - especially the G string which I always have lower than the rest. Normally at a bash people pick up my bass and it's choking everywhere - and when I pick up someone else's bass I feel really slow and numb on it!

Anyone up for a bit of case porn? Apparently Vigier only made these fitted hard cases for a year or so. Made of wood, quite light actually - I don't have the key but I doubt the locks are up to much. Feels pretty solid and it's nice to have one that fits perfectly. I've had it for ages, but recently gave it a bit of a clean so thought why not get some snaps.

It's only very occasionally they occur. I have seen two or three in total and I'm on here all day, so many users won't have seen any at all. We're still working on it though.
