Great!! Looks nice, that.

Yes I have one like that and much prefer single balls. I wonder if there's a design where you can have the ball end at the headstock and then clamp the end of the string at the tuner end = best of both worlds...
-
I like the look of that design. For me, what kills most headless designs is the 'other' end, which often seems 'unfinished'. However, there are a few examples of ideas I really like which still have a sort-of headstock:

Your wife has installed a special browser plugin that marks everything 'Sold'

I could downgrade it to a spank

I owe you one punch, redeemable on Sat or Sun

I'm getting the train from York so I hope that's OK - last time the one in front of us was delayed by an hour because there was a balloon on the line. Guess we won't know until we get to the station (at 6am!)

One might question whether this was the right place to begin with?!

I’m especially pleased to be working with The Gallery - when I first started to play the bass I’d often take the trip to Camden to play a few basses then head off to Denmark Street. The shop will always hold a special place in my heart and I’d love them to get some more exposure. I know they are well known among enthusiasts but I’m sure lots of new players aren’t aware of the shop. So if you haven’t been, do!

Reckon between your legs it'll be fine. They probably envisage items being that big to be things like bikes or something.

Plenty of people do, if they want to try a certain amp or something. The environment is far from the best place for auditioning an amp though but if you want to bring it, go for it. There should be someone on the Basschat stand all weekend so you can leave it with us if you want.

Welcome! My best friend is from SA... he's taught me the lingo... hope you have a lekker time on BC! ped

That sounds like a cover story if you ask me. Great story! Thanks for sharing. I’ve had many car park encounters over the years on Basschat and only two have turned into shootouts.

I'd better update the profanity filter before someone is offended See you there Steve

Well put - I think there's an element of this in all of us.

I'm just surprised you're not ON the Brits FOR DJ-ing!

Let me guess. Stormzy, rag and bloody bone man and dua lipa. They seem to be the only musicians the public are aware of at the moment.

Yeah we’d like to have a better more baked in system but the software is pretty much an off the shelf item. We wrote our own marketplace software by adapting what the software provides so tying in something like this whilst possible would take quite a lot of work to make sure it is stable and to ensure nothing ended up getting lost due to general software updates. It it is however in our list of things to develop in our test environment along with other plans such as a location field for sellers and a better format for the reviews section. For now, best thing to do it to make yourself feedback thread and ask people to leave comments there. Cheers ped

With a name like Bubby you just know he’s got chops

Welcome Dennis! Enjoy the forum.

To be honest I can’t really member now. Perhaps someone tried replacing some faulty electronics and gave up! Roland system is amazing, I use it on my mini Bass too in my avatar. There’s no tracking issues because it acts just like a magnetic pickup, just processing each string separately. Most people incorrectly classify it as a MIDI system. I mean you can drive MIDI with it but then there’s tracking and latency issues. I use mine with a Roland VB99 which I think everyone’s here is sick of hearing about

Check this out http://www.garywillis.com/pages/bass/bassmanual/setupmanual.html In short, the truss rod adjusts the relief which is how much bow is in the neck. Action is the height if the strings set at the bridge. Both do different things and can produce different results. A rattle on a single note however may be because a fret needs levelling. One way to check if frets are level is to use a credit card to see if it rocks on a high fret. Edit to add - if it plays perfectly everywhere else, and by last fret you mean up near the body, I’d leave it.

Genius or Stupid. Rumbling strap attachment instead of a bass amp

Think I'll stick to my pleasure board - but it look interesting. I presume it's powered by some kind of adapter which would be a bit of a pain, I hate having wires attached to me. -
