  1. What's wrong with reviving an old thread?
  2. You'll have to manually unfollow any threads you participated in before you unchecked those boxes.
  3. I started what I thought would be a shit hot fishing forum about 15 years ago - why people insist on discussing bass guitars is beyond me - given up now.
  4. I’ve got two basses with internal installation but using the GK pickup still. It’s called something catchy like GK-KIT-BG
  5. Well nobody asked for it and now I've done it. I found myself at a loose end yesterday (actually there were several things I could have been doing instead) so without any forethought or planning I fired up my iPad and recorded this little video. I'm sure there's a better way of doing it but I did the video on the iPad, audio on my iMac with garage band then bounced them together and added some text. Seemed to go ok so now I may do some better ones. Anyway here you can enjoy the sound of my mini bass and the VB99 which I love for it's flexibility. I've had it (and the previous version before it) for about 10 years now and I'm still finding new things to do with it. Hope you enjoy! ped
  6. And so many nice headstocks ruined by an ugly body!
  7. Hi Steve Just a heads up, isn't it a GK3-B not GR3-B? Might help people find it. Interested to hear about the internal install in your ACG - I have two basses with internal GK pickups, love them.
  8. Thanks! Here’s the cloth I bought. I’ve decided to cut some MDF into a square and then cut out the centre to make a rigid frame that won’t need glueing. I can use the pillar drill at work to do it and probably nick some wood too.

    NBD

Not a bad price. I prefer the matte black one on here though
  10. I've put him on Post Approval (so anything he posts will have to be approved by us first) and sent him a rather to-the-point email regarding his actions from this point onwards. Unless he sorts you out @joegarcia he won't be coming back here again, and I'll co-operate with the Police should you like to get in touch with them about it. Contact detail wise, I have an email address and home address which may help the Police if necessary. Feel free to message me and I can pass these on to the relevant authority.
  11. Very cool, it looks really tactile and has stunning attention to detail.
  12. Some bridges really don’t go very low, and I’ve removed parts of saddles before to get the super low action I like. It’s quick and easy and perfectly ok if the string has something stable to rest on. In fact, the bridge in my Marleaux had those same ‘blades’ and even at their lowest they were a good 3mm too high, so I took them out. I think the bridge was ETS?
  13. Hmm. Can you set it with a high ratio so it works like a limiter, using a TonePrint? 20:1 or more? (Just realised you’re talking about the mini but I’m on abiut the normal sized which takes battery power)
  14. Welcome Josh, get Stuck in, I hope you enjoy the site.
  15. I just spent an hour listening to synths on YouTube
  16. I've now started modding the Roland Micro Cube somewhat. Nothing OTT but since removing the plastic corner protectors I've also put the rubber feet on the side so the amp sits rotated 90 degrees with the input and controls on the side of the box. This means I can sit on top of it and also it fits under my coffee table without having to remove the lead. Next I am changing the metal grille for a wooden frame covered with black speaker cloth, which should look quite nice. Hardly warrants a build thread... will update when it happens! Any tips for covering a wooden frame with cloth? I've got some decent non stretchy stuff that I plan on basically stapling to the frame, then attaching the frame to the cab by using lego bricks or velcro... I presume covering the existing metal grille with cloth is a no-no, but that said I've only read that in connection with big cabs in large rigs, which might produce flapping against the grille. Hardly an issue in this case...
  17. Agreed on the lack of musicality and the wearing a hat indoors, but I do find techniques like this interesting; although i'd never use it for a full 'riff', I do enjoy using my bass percussively and familiarising myself with the feel and tonal qualities of the instrument. Sitting in front of the TV this kind of exercise is quite useful, but probably not in a band situation.
  18. I think we tried it but it didn't work - we've got a test site up now and it's on the list of things to fix and push to the live site.
  19. Thanks. Always really enjoyed Carvin gear. I suppose costs are the reason?
  20. Try Youtube. Tons of great drum tracks there which you can use, often at the exact tempo you want.
  21. Nothing like a NBD, congrats
