Yeah that's right. To be honest I forget it's an octave up - it sounds huge. I think Wing make a bass a bit like the one you describe - have a look on their site. I've never seen one though, they're such a small company I don't think they have any UK distributor. Not yet anyway.
I played my normal basses for a bit last week after not touching them for a couple of weeks at least. It didn't feel weird at all given the similar spacing and feel plus the same strings (different gauge).
I went back to the wing and it felt great - tbh I'm starting to think it's becoming my go to bass, certainly for the type of playing I do, bumming around the house in my pants.
