Haha that was awesome. Could be a really fun way of getting a laugh out of the audience I reckon.

How about putting the cabs on their side? FWIW I read somewhere that the coupling effect is actually not a 'thing' but I can't remember, and may have been the opposite. You're welcome

[quote name='prowla' timestamp='1508774429' post='3394322'] It's illegal to sell a counterfeit instrument which incorporates a trademarked logo. [/quote] The seller has been open about it and plenty of people buy the decals and use them. There's nothing we can do on BC to verify originality anyway, so if a seller is honest there's no problem in my eyes. -
Hi guys I've got this combo to go - I'm moving house soon and having a bit of a clear out. I believe it's 200W and 300W with an ext. speaker. Either way, it's really loud and sounds great. These have a bit of a cult status. £200 collected from York. I may be able to post but will have to source some packaging first, so for now let's say collection only - I'm not desperate to sell it so would much prefer this. I'll add postage options as and when! Cheers ped Sorry about the terrible iPad pics, I'll post some better ones tomorrow in better light. It's a bit scruffy because it's been well used, but it's all cosmetic! I like mine super low. The G string is lowest and the E a tiny bit higher to give a better slap. I play very lightly so there is no buzz, but a delicious clank when digging in. Here you can see the G and I’ve had to magnify it so much you can see the discolouration where the string hits the fret, invisible to the naked eye. The neck has to be dead straight to achieve this, which is why I like my Vigiers, but not every Vigier I’ve tried is able to do it quite so well. My little Wingbass also has a flat fingerboard because it’s got no truss rod either, the board is flat glued to the body which is a single cut shape. As a result it’s also extremely low - maybe lower, in fact... will see if I can get a pic later. [url=https://ibb.co/bza5GR][/url]

You could be trying to view the one I deleted a while ago and replaced with this new forum http://basschat.co.uk/forum/108-please-read/ You should be able to see this, logged in it not. Cheers ped

I’ve just installed another strap pin at about the 9th fret. It now balances really nicely when standing (keeping the playing area centred). The original pin at the end is great for playing seated. I attached the TC polytune temporarily in the body but think I’ll leave it, it fits so well and is really useful! [url=https://ibb.co/fffj86][/url] [url=https://ibb.co/kJPpam][/url]

[quote name='Al Krow' timestamp='1508478851' post='3392416'] Excellent - looking forward to pics and feedback. More general Q directed at the wider group - how easy is it load up sound samples to share on BC? I'm thinking of Bo0tsy, amongst others, with his very comprehensive collection of filters. [/quote] Not very easy at the moment, probably best to post them on soundcloud then link. However the new site makes it super easy so maybe wait a week or so!

Hi guys We're ready to launch the new site. Finally! It's been a really long winded and difficult process for lots of reasons and I'd like to thank Charic for all his hard work on it for us. Now - everything is ready but there's one thing we can't take with us due to the way the new software works. [b]Any pictures uploaded to the site will need to be re-posted/attached after we make the jump[/b]. I'm thinking particularly pictures in build threads and adverts are the most important to begin with. Porn threads etc we can start new ones and before long we'll be sorted. We'll try to email everyone here to alert them to save any pictures this week for re-posting but one if the problems with this site is that the mass email system is rubbish but we'll do our best. Failing that we'll message everyone from the new site. So - [b]if you have an advert with us or pics you'd like to keep, please download them now. Maybe bookmark the page they're in to make it easy to out them back.[/b] Please share this message with others and ask if you have any questions. Pictures hosted externally will still work but show as a link (img tags don't work in the same way so they can be edited more easily) so we can get a bunch of volunteers to help with those after the jump. [b]For the time being you could put a link to pictures in your adverts so it doesn't change when we move, then make them embedded afterwards.[/b] Sorry we couldn't manage to do it - you wouldn't believe how complicated and difficult it's been to get the information from the old site synced over. Rest assured though that this move is essential in terms of making the site secure and future proof and we'll never have to do this again! Thanks - we plan on making the jump as soon as possible so perhaps we'll give it a week to spread the word and let people prepare. I'm pretty sure PMs will transfer no problem, but perhaps it's worth getting email addresses and phone numbers if you're in the middle of a deal just in case. Cheers everyone ped

[quote name='Jus Lukin' timestamp='1508316425' post='3391249'] What an interesting bass! So it's tuned BEADG an octave up, is that correct? I've wondered about a 5-string cut down to the 5th fret, giving EADGC (with or without the C, to be honest) at a much shorter scale. Seems like a handy way to make a travel bass, and without the need for electronics to create the lower notes. [/quote] Yeah that's right. To be honest I forget it's an octave up - it sounds huge. I think Wing make a bass a bit like the one you describe - have a look on their site. I've never seen one though, they're such a small company I don't think they have any UK distributor. Not yet anyway. I played my normal basses for a bit last week after not touching them for a couple of weeks at least. It didn't feel weird at all given the similar spacing and feel plus the same strings (different gauge). I went back to the wing and it felt great - tbh I'm starting to think it's becoming my go to bass, certainly for the type of playing I do, bumming around the house in my pants.

[quote name='CameronJ' timestamp='1508284720' post='3391139'] Ah man, now I’m GASing for a wingbass big time! [/quote] Admit it, you want a pug hybrid too!

I think the one on Bass Direct looks lovely. I'd like to try one. The guys at the company are very friendly also. There's no shame in having a 2k bass if you've just started but your tastes and preferences may change as you learn.

I'm not sure to be honest, I tried to find out when I was buying a used PX4D recently - it's not very clear but I think the current Pandora is the 'Mini'... they're all kind fo the same though.
-
There's the Korg Pandora stomp. Worth a look.

I really like a ramp. Fortunately most of my basses that aren't ramped have wide and flat pickups in just the right place!
-
Looks like a ‘cracker’ ‘Flipping’ brilliant

Yeah give that a try. I found mine was really noisy once but it turned out to be a non Roland 13 pin cable which wasn't much good.
