1. Some neat design touches on that. Nice
  2. In that case it's the wrong link. Grab the 'direct' link that should end in the file type. I don't use Google Drive so perhaps someone who does may know how best to access it.

    SOLD

Lovely bass and he Roland system is the icing on the cake. These basses feel great.
  4. For example it will look like this but remember no spaces after the square bracket. I can't put it without the space as the code will try and show a pic [ img]http:www.examplepic/3345573.jpg[ /img]
  5.
Ped, I'm using google drive to host my pics. I can paste in a url which works fine, but I'm not getting a thumbnail in the text of the post as you are. Any idea why? Thanks.
Hi mate try putting these around the link - [ img] at the start, then the link, no spaces - then [ /img] at the end. Alternatively if you use the full reply editor there's a shortcut button in the toolbar which looks like a little picture - paste the link in there and that'll work. Good luck
  6.
Ditto My post on Monday for two ACGs F/S disappeared :-( This could be the cause of the 'nothing sells on BC' problem
Send me a PM, we'll sort it
  7.
I'd look for camera pouches, bound to be one out there with a belt clip/loop. I just keep mine on the desk though and don't have a need to attach it to me.
As a home practice setup it could be quite neat, sitting on a desk etc, no problem, but I'd only want it for when I'm NOT at my desk, where I already have a Roland headphone setup with Bassboard etc. I think this is where the problem lies; most manufacturers believe that at home we all play our rigs and only use headphones when at a desk when everyone is asleep, and that it's second best to the former. I MUCH prefer playing through headphones with the vibrating platform under my chair - I can get the perfect sound and feel without causing any outside noise, so no worries about annoying anyone and a much cleaner sound than using speakers plus all the ins and outs I could want, for recording, playing along with music, Youtube etc... I'm totally cut off from the outside world, as my wife will agree much to her annoyance. Normally when something needs doing at home.
  8.
I wasn't being serious
Ah lol well you had me looking at the device online and thinking 'hmm I wonder' - but yeah it's probably a bit heavy then. As for the belt clip idea - that's what I've got now on my Nobels thing but it's still a bit of a faff compared to simply plugging into the jack, really. I don't always take a strap if I'm traveling and/or noodling in front of the TV. Even when I do, it adds weight to the strap and feels a bit cumbersome. Come on people give us what we want!
  9. Hi chaps Bit of a nightmare yesterday. A mod (who shall remain anonymous) deleted a whole page of ads by accident. I spent all yesterday putting back any I could find but there are probably still some missing. Please PM me if yours is one of them so I can keep track and deal with them one by one. If you have a £20 sub it's best to post it again unless the original ad had replies etc you'd like to keep. Cheers and apologies ped
  10. Thanks again. Status say 908mm is between the 'inside of each ball end' which sounds like ball centre to me. Like you say though I reckon that's probably generous. I calculate I'll need about 910mm minimum to allow correct installation (with bridge anchor right forwards then pulled back to tune). Think I'm just going to have to try some. Worst case scenario I'll get at least one set from a pack...
  11.
I've just been able to measure the Status strings on my Spirit XZ-25 and under tension, from hole centres of each ball the string length is 914mm, so I don't know if that helps.
Thanks for that, seems a bit longer than the spec in their site then. 914mm would fit ok. 908mm is a bit tight but just about doable. I've emailed status to check how accurate their current specs are (seems they changed manufacturer recently) so maybe they'll send me some? Are your strings new or have you had hem a while? Maybe they're the new manufactured ones?
  12.
In an opposite fashion, you could use a pedal coupler to have the PJB Bighead dangling out of your jack socket with no patch cables if that's your thing too!
Reckon it's a bit heavy for that really. Currently I have a 'Noels Bass Mycro' 9v headphone amp that I dangle from the socket and it's not very neat (plus the thing produces a bit of hiss and doesn't have an Aux input)
  13. Here's the end clamp I just found a part of the Status site where they list the length of the strings - 908mm. JUST too short to install half at a time with any wiggle room, unfortunately. It might JUST work but I probably won't gamble on it, especially as Elixirs are my fave anyway. Just seems a waste to chuck half the string away!
  14.
bad idea, the open end of each string will be too fat to wind on the tuner and will probably start to unwind, coz you're gonna cut the string at it's centre, the thickest part
Sorry I should have said, the bass is headless so the string will be clamped at the end of the bass, not wound, so although cutting the strings will take some decent tools, there is no extra length needed for winding.
  15.
Well make up your mind - which?
Time to add a poll
  16.
Yup. I owned one when they first came out and before long it ended up in a drawer, never to be used again. Then I got myself a Phil Jones Bighead and never looked back! Edit: Danny beat me to it.
Trouble is, with the Amplug and Amphones you can basically plug your headphones into your bass - no patch cables, no unit dangling about... if they made a bighead with built in effects and drum machine that plugged right into the bass that would be great but as it is, I think it's something and nothing.
  17. Hi all I'm looking for some double ball end round wound strings for my half sized bass. my idea is that rather than buying normal strings and cutting them literally in half and throwing the rest away, I could buy double ball end strings and use the other half at a later date. First of all, it's not easy finding a set with a high 'c' but Status do a 6 string set so I could give the B string away. Edit - just seen I can buy individual strings from Status. Second of all I just need too heck the overall length of the string, ball to ball - does anyone have a set they could measure for me? Cheers ped
  18. I don't think the amphones are much better. A shame, because there's a definite gap in the market for something like this.
  19. I've played one a fair bit along with the powered 15, too. The setup sounded fantastic. At the time I had a Mesa 400+ and there was little to choose between the two. Roland make great gear and the idea of an analogue signal chain is highly over hyped imo.
  20. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07vwg5w 'Why is music addicted to bass?' Worth a listen, get the sub fired up Cheers ped
  21. Pretty sure Kiwi had two in his last time he visited. Send him a PM perhaps.
  22. *ping* Coming right up. Anyone need a drink?
  23.
What an odd thing. I can't decide if it is genius or just pointless.
I'm finding myself picking it up all the time. It sounds brilliant and it's so 'handy' It's a bit like having a moped when you also have a car
  24.
Wingbass + sand + salt spray = Happiness? I don't think so.
Looking outside today it looks like rain + wingbass + sand + electrocution Maybe just a noodle in front of the TV then
  25.
I seem to recall reading somewhere that piccolo bass tunings work best for synth bass applications? Which would tend to suggest that this thing could be the perfect synth driver.
Yep that's the plan. The GK system will work well because it's the same a small playing with a 12th fret capo. The GK doesn't do any 'tracking' as such as it works a small an actual pickup into the VB99 so no latency either. The main bonus will be the polyphonic octaver which I can use alongside any other effect. The only difficulty will be deciding where to put the various controls and output. So far I'm thinking the up/down patch buttons can go on the heading edge of the bass at the bottom and the output at the front. You can't have the outputs on the 'back edge' where they'd normally go because that section rests on your leg.
