1.
Just buy D'Addario EXPs? Better string in every aspect?
Tried, didn't like
2.
Funnily enough, seller two has unquestioningly refunded me in full, but asked me to not leave bad feedback as he is not a bass player and bought them in good faith. Yeh right.
I guess he'll be removing the other sets from his listings then? He's just giving you more ammunition for your negative feedback
3. It's just not worth the risk. Only buy from an official shop. I get mine direct from Elixir because we're friends Love the strings
4. Had some complaints about sexism so will lock in the interest of my own sanity and lack of desire to have to discuss or justify why I have or haven't let sexist comments get out of hand this evening. Phew. Thanks have a nice weekend
5.

Love this... so cosy
6.
Wish I lived a bit closer to London when things like this come up. Is it just me who thinks it means something other than bass guitars when they see LBGS? I thought I was getting 20% off a roger from Roger!
Funnily enough when I lived in Oxfordshire it was a real pain to get to, but from York it's much easier via the fast train. Go figure. And yes, me too
7. Oh I only sent the email to people I wanted to come (...but in all boring seriousness the emails are sent out in batches that could take a couple of days in total; on top of that we're in Amazon's bad books because we have so many email bounces and this hasn't helped, so maybe some have gone missing... that's why I also created the thread on site and FB etc!) No problem to ask the question BTW, I don't like emails either especially as they normally mean I have to do something!
8. To be honest I had no idea the email would go to everyone regardless of the setting. It's the first time I've used it - and probably the last! Anyway you know where I'll be on the 4-5th of March if you want to offer some physical resistance ped
9. I don't think so. There will be an option soon though on the new site. We don't send mass emails often, last one was in 2013. Sorry if it caused annoyance.
10. Good question. I always used Photobucket as well which was always OK with a few choice filters added to my ad blocker, but now it's just got ridiculous. There are so many things wrong with it I don't know where to begin. I also use Flickr but use that more as hosting for my 'proper' pictures. Throwaway pics I tend to use something else, but it's still nice to use a device that keeps your pics on record should you need them again. I've tried Postimage which seems like Photobucket but without the ads - the only problem is that when you use the line of code to show a pic it inserts an advert there, unless you snip it out. All in all I think there's room for a proper hosting service, even better if it was built into an OS. [Image] tagging pictures on iCloud for example would be really useful.
11. That's a shame, I'm on my honeymoon. Do people think Tina would prefer this to Iceland?
12.
Polo shits?
Freudian slip, sorry

Hello

Morning and welcome! Should you be working
18. I prefer active. Less noise, more flexible - funny when people say there's too many knobs and it's confusing... if you can work a toaster you can learn the controls on a bass guitar

20. That's great, please pass on my thanks. Some new sites for me to check out there, too.
21. I've had to file down bridge saddles on many basses from lots of top manufacturers. I like my action super low and often the bridge just won't go down far enough. I tend to file it down below what I require so I can use the grub screws to set it exactly and leave me with some adjustment in both directions. I'm used to neck though basses where the fretboard is only marginally higher than the body of the bass so only very low set bridges will do the job. My fave is the Schaller 3D.
22. Woah the Jamhub looks amazing. Exactly what I needed at my old house... great design.
23. Thanks for the pictures. Love them all..
24. With my new toy (Tecamp Pleasure Board) and headphones, I can achieve the perfect mix in my headphones and feel like I'm standing in front of (or more specifically 'on') a huge bass rig. Nobody else can hear it unless they're in the same room in which case, after playing with my headphones off, it sounds like a muffled boxy speaker at very low volume. I don't need to do this because of noise levels as my neighbour is the other side and basically deaf, but I much prefer the feel and control I have using this setup, and like Mingsta says above, I enjoy playing more when I know I'm not disturbing anyone. Also with an amplifier everything in my office rattles at different frequencies which drives me dotty.
25. I have a 5 minute slot in the lavatory where I accept handshakes from fans. That way I'm right next to a basin and airblade. I ask them to wash first.
