  1. So, it turns out that the Airstep cannot control my WAZA Air bass headphones, only the guitar version and basically anything else on the planet. As a result I’m selling mine if you’re interested in trying it. I’d use it for controlling my computer but it’s a bit wasted doing just that. It’s brand new, I got it for £150… I’ll post it in the marketplatz later.
  2. Contours were added in ‘69 with the introduction of the ‘competition’ Mustang (stripes)
  3. Mine would be Mutron III+ (prefer it to the original!) EHX Russian Bassballs That would do me. As long as I had a compressor.

    NPD T-Rex Bass Juice

I’ve been cork sniffing my ODs and Fuzz pedals again today and I still really like the Bass Juice. It breaks up the low end giving it a nice rasp without there being too end fizz when you play the skinny strings. Sounds great in a mix.
  5. Fantastic! That looks great. Bringing back good memories of the original Vbass. No, I don't think there was a desktop editor for that model. Honestly I don't use the VB99 one either; I prefer to do it all on the unit which by design makes adjustments easy and intuitive. I don't think there's a way to exchange patches except via MIDI or some such - in the past I've just shared pictures of the settings on the screen! The Vguitar forums are great, lots of super knowledgable people there. You'll probably see some posts from me on there, same username I think.
  6. Form is part of the function for me. If it looks cool, I want it to work. Sometimes it doesn't, which is a shame, and other times I've had basses I didn't like the look of as much which played really well. So like anything, it's a balance. What's really nice is when you find an instrument that looks great and plays great too.

    Pedalboard qs

Temple audio have been quite helpful. They said the bolts are M4 so I could just get some of my own and put them through a washer. Ideally the mounting plate needs to sit flush as there are some ears which lock the plate in place to stop it rotating but that wouldn’t be an issue if I either do it up tight or use two plates on bigger pedals. So I might go for it.
  8. Fingers crossed you get your money back and you can walk away from this whole sham deal. What a letdown.
  9. I know I do! I was reading up about it recently in fact, and it's quite interesting how different systems developed due in part to the types or roads available and the sorts of loads being transported. I tend to drive roughly in the middle and judge each inbound vehicle on a case by case basis.
  10. That's the way to do it - find one that's been modded already and do it again, properly. I've seen a few come up, mostly vastly overpriced, but I'll keep my eyes open for any more.
  11. Cheers! I say go ahead - if you're interested in experimenting you could always route a neat pickup trench to accommodate a variety of pickups, then get a few scratchplates so once you have chosen your favourite you can cut out the shape on the PG to match. I've always subscribed to the notion that the location of the pickup is the most important factor as opposed to the variety of pickup itself, so I think in the same position the same mustang sound will be there plus or minus some character from the pickup.
  12. Yes I believe so, process probably similar
  13. I was about to say that it looked as if the Mustang had been moulded in the proper vintage shape as opposed to the newer reissue shape where there's quite a bit more body behind the bridge but I realise that they've gone with the bigger body again for some reason. It's a particular quirk that nobody else cares about but it annoys me!
  14. Sounds like a textbook day out, and I believe it’s still legal to shoot someone from a horse in some parts of the country but you’ve got to use a bow and arrow 🏹
  15. Ok sir I’ll drop it off tomorrow 😀
  16. Some members of the XSTEP group on Facebook have confirmed that the BW version of the Airstep pedal doesn't work with the bass version of the waza air (are you confused yet); something to do with a slightly different Sysex which could easily be changed with a firmware update but isn't yet. However the full fat Airstep does apparently work with basically anything, so it's a good job I have one on the way...
  17. Done mate, congrats on the new amp
  18. The instructions are to turn off the Bluetooth on the phone/whatever the wazas are connected to, turn them on ‘in Bluetooth mode’ then switch the pedal on and they should connect. I’ve tried it both in pairing mode and just regular slow blinking mode (as the manual doesn’t really state whether Bluetooth mode means pairing or not) but either way nothing happens. I’ve updated the firmware and tried the beta release but neither work. The pedal appears as wanting to pair on other devices so it’s reaching out but apparently ignoring the wazas…
  19. Hm, Airstep BW doesn't connect to my Waza Air Bass at all, just doesn't seem to work. So that's good. Maybe it only works on the guitar Waza cans?
  20. Sure will do. And yes it’s through an app (which I have downloaded and played with, it seems fine). I’m sure you’ll probably know better than me that there are apparently ways to run iOS apps in MacOS without the silicon chip (as I think you’ve got an older one like me).
  21. Ok I’ve done some more research and decided to go for the full fat Airstep. Found one on eBay for a good price (unused but second hand). It lets me control hardware and my computer too.
  22. Slight update. I posted about a Bluetooth/Midi and hardware footswitch in the Boss WAZA Air thread and it turns out their top level pedal does everything I need in terms of controlling my computer as well as allowing me to control my WAZA headphones on the go. Managed to get one on eBay so I’ll let you know how it goes, it certainly looks very capable. https://xsonicaudio.com/pages/airstep
  23. It looks cool, and it solves the problem of the slightly fragile 13 pin and the potential need for a breakout box. One of my basses has a 13 pin output next to the standard jack - I wonder if they offer the internal installation kit for the bass pickup which might let you use a standard cable in the same output as the new Serial jack. That would be quite cool.
