Here you go: 6-32 UNC I've got 2" on the E and A, and 2.5" on the D and G https://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/A2-ScrewBolt-PhilRaPan-UNCoarse0.1380.html

That’s a beauty! It looks like your saddles are right at the end of the screws - mine were, too. I managed to find out what screws they are and got some longer ones (kept the originals safe). I can look it up if you’re interested.

Hi mate. I’ve just checked via the stripe gateway and it does appear that there’s a second transaction which didnt make its way to us - no idea what’s happened there but I’ve refunded it now. I’ll look into it later in detail to try and work it out! Any more problems just let me know, we’ll make a note to double check next year. Please check that you only have one subscription here https://www.basschat.co.uk/clients/purchases/ Cheers ped

I didn't know myself to be honest until I measured it just now. I've never really been sensitive to neck dimensions. I might get a JMJ one day for 'flats' duty so maybe I'd feel the difference when they're side by side.
-
My 66 seems to be about 40mm

I’ve just messaged them to ask wtf is going on, I’ll let you know if they reply!
-
Hi mate sorry for the slow reply. Everything looks normal from here - I wonder if it’s something to do with the email issues we’ve had recently. Either way, I can only see one paid renewal and nothing pending. Let me know if you see anything weird or have any problems and I’ll get right on it 🫡

Love that. It just looks like it sounds awesome. Sometimes you can just tell by looking!
-
Not sure RE the necks; pretty sure they’re the same but could be wrong. The bodies are interesting - aside from the contouring, they’re the same dimensions, however all reissues including the JMJ are slightly different, with more booty behind the bridge.

Battery Connectors - Isn't it time someone came up with a better way?
ped replied to snorkie635's topic in General Discussion
Even battery box designs are due improvement. My Celinder had one, but they’re a pretty cheap plastic affair which is really quite flimsy, and not that secure or satisfying to snap closed. Given the choice I think I prefer the Musicman early designs with a metal plate which screws over the battery cavity. -
Shaky ground. Which of these bassline interpretations do you prefer?
ped replied to solo4652's topic in General Discussion
First one. Funk is the space in between the notes. I’d still be tempted to pop some of the octaves though! -
I never really understood Hiscox cases. They’re really thick, and I’ve never had one where the shell hadn’t come away from the aluminium edging. Suppose they’re quite light, but that’s it. They played a master stroke by making them easily moulded with manufacturer names on the side, though.

I think the Jr version doesn’t have the polarity or clean blend switch which are quite important (for me). What sort of a sound are you going for?
-
We used to talk about Vigiers a lot, I’ll always remember his blue burst Arpege. There’s a picture of us at the first ever bass bash in Northampton somewhere. Very talented bassist and such a warm, friendly character. Felt like I knew him much better than I did.
-
Glad you like it. Looking forward to a full review! I found it compared really well with the Musitronics version despite everyone saying it was rubbish (but obviously they had never tried either)
-
Yeah I like it too. I think k it was Ian Allison on Scott’s Bass Lessons who said it. He’s such an enthusiastic guy it’s hard not to like him 👍🏼
-
I’ve heard vintage basses (or just instruments in general) described as ‘functional art’ - which makes sense to me.
-
Very sad. I’ll remember him as a lovely bloke and amazing bassist.
-
You’ll get a list of every OD pedal ever! But mine is the Valco KGB Dist. The impedance and polarity switches make a huge difference to the way the pedal behaves and I haven’t seen that function on anything else. It does a low gain breakup perfectly for me.

Should be ok now thanks to @Woodinblack we would have done this behind the scenes a bit more if we had a chance but our server guy was so quick that we didnt have a chance 😂
-
OK new server is purchased and we're migrating everything in the next few days. We'll test it for a bit and make a switch over soon. This will involve importing the database. The site itself shouldn't be down/offline at any stage but I'll let everyone know.

I've been having trouble even logging in just now, so perhaps... I'd be perfectly suited to government
-
We're running out of room on the server. I'll look into an upgrade - a quick look at current offers shows we can upgrade to one which will be 3x faster with double ram and storage... It'll happen in the next few days, all being well
