1. Thanks to some hard work behind the scenes, the upload function is now working again. Cheers ped
  2. Mesa 1516BE, without a doubt. I had one (with a 400+ head) and it sounded exactly like the sound in my head. Fantastic, but heavy.

That's bill that's a stunner. What's the serial number? I think this is the fourth white series 2 I've seen, and definitely the cleanest!!

OK, both should look good then. I liked the highs on the glock pre. I can't remember exactly what frequency it boosted but it accentuated the compressed highs from the graphite construction really nicely. My pickups are made by Basstec, I don't know much about them other than the fact that they are dual coil pickups and they sound really full and clean. They were a direct fit, pretty much, but I had the metal surround built to anchor my thumb on and tie in the look of the whole electronics area. The metal surround itself was actually built by a BC member years ago in Australia! I'm pretty sure the Bartolini W4 soapbar pickups are a direct fit though so they may well be worth checking out. Alternatively you could send the Benedetti covers off and have someone build you a pickup into their casing... Hi Bill Thanks for the comments. The knobs came from a US supplier who I think provides them to Pedulla, Sadowsky and the like. You can find them here http://www.variohm.com/variohmdatasheets/index.php?mid=65 (link is blocked at work but it's somewhere on their site) I've also just found this http://www.bestbassgear.com/knobs.htm who may be cheaper. An East sounds like a good plan, I had a U-Retro in my fretless. I never find myself adjusting or using the pre on my bass very often but the basses do benefit hugely from more modern electronics. I think the Benedetti pickups sound fanatastic (I left them in the fretless) but in my fretted bass I prefer humbucking pickups for their output and zero noise. I tried the Glock pre in a series 4 bass and it sounded great, and can probably be sourced from Vigier fairly easily. Will you have to drill some extra holes? Here'a another (clearer) pic! 6.
I've used loads of different in-ear stuff (Sony, JVC etc) but they all seem to colour the sound a bit too much for my liking.
That's why I swear by Sure E2Cs for playing bass - what I hear is exactly what goes to desk.
  7.
Serial Grado user here. iGrado for the gym and '80s for everything else. Top phones with great sound stage, comfortable etc. My only criticism would be they are a bit leaky so others around you will get the benefit of what you are listening to.
Me too, however I bought some 125s and ended up preferring my ancient 60's so I sold them. I use the 60s every day, perhaps I'm just 'in tune' with them. Of all the headphones I've used, I find using Grados is like sitting in front ofa decent HiFi rather than like wearing 'phones.
  8. Yeah even here at work I can hear the production is excellent
  9. Sounds great, I'll grab this later. Congratulations on completing what must have been a huge project.
  10.
In France.
Figures!!
  11. Very nice - good luck with the sale. Where are you based?
  12.
Head-Fi is the place to ask, but it appears that somebody already has! http://www.head-fi.org/t/393597/new-se102-is-this-old-e2c-rebranded
Thanks for that. I think I'll stock up on a few pairs.

I had the notification email this morning and when I reached for my phone Nellie stepped on me and punched me in the eye! She doesn't like being disturbed lol Cheers Chris

Hi guys I've just met a lovely lady from Worldpay; we're setting up a card payment gateway for those of you who don't use PayPal. It will enable us to reduce prices as they don't take such a cut. Problem is we have about £50 now after having just paid the tax return for Jan and Worldpay setup fee is £150. With the recent development costs we're up against it! Last time I updated everyone I was amazed at your generosity and we managed to completely pay our last bill. Thanks again ped
  16.
Wow... that's almost touchscreen!
Lol yep it's very low, but I play with a light touch and I love the clank when you dig in. Absolutely zero fret buzz, though. The neck on this bass is perfect. I'm actually really bad at playing other basses such is my preference for a low action!
  17. Here's mine! Vigier Passion GK by chiscocks, on Flickr
  18.
Cheers Stef030, it is very well made and British to boot, and yup Ped, we've a Staffie (cross) and he's ace, well spotted . Although his eyes do look a bit odd in the avatar, they're not really that colour!! (ps. if this counts as a bump please delete this post, don't want to break rules )
Lovely, he looks cool. Nellie's eyes look the same in some light, or when she's asking to go to the shops Good luck with the sale ped

    New!

There's a cat in my avatar, but it's inside Nellie's little belly <-------------
  20. It certainly used to do this already - perhaps it's been lost in the recent developments. We're planning a proper app at some point, though. Cheers
  21. Hi guys Sorry to do this without much warning, but the new 'classifieds' experiment has now been hidden, so please carry on using the regular sales forums as normal. Apologies if you listed something there recently, but because we didn't enable the paid adverts it should hopefully only be a minor inconvenience at worst. We do plan to use the classifieds plugin at some point, but rather than for private sales we'll modify it to be the BC shop, probably. Thanks for all your feedback in the recent threads about the new system. You spoke (typed, unless you're one of those people who do both in unison) and we listened. Thanks ped
  22. By default there will be a red notification. adding 'PM'd' to a thread is a good idea, though. I normally do this anyway.
