1. The production of the first album was really sweet. Drums sounded awesome. Dunno what happened to them. Ah well.

My collection!

I'm trying Rotosound Nexus strings on the Vigier, they look amazing and feel nice but quite different to the Elixirs I'm used to. Time will tell how they fare because a set of Elixirs stay bright for over a year for me which is nice. This is still very much my main bass and I can't see it ever losing top spot. I have recently had an addition to the stable which I'll show later. ped
5. Excellent, glad you had fun. This has put a smile on my otherwise perpetually frowny face today
6. EASY!!! P, J then Ray. Totally different to my ears. Each sounds very unique. {edit} I think they are SO recognisable that I tend not to use either bass very often, preferring to get my 'own sound' from my bass. Any way I try a J, P or MM they always sound like a J, P or MM. Don't get me wrong, all GREAT sounds, but why sound like everyone else!
7.
awesome sauce! Well done
lol
8.
Yes, here are some pics of my Zoid (the courtesy of the previous owner as I don't have own pics in my office computer)
Beautiful, love the ramp too. Feels like I can almost play it through the screen!
9. Hehe yeah a little bit.
10.

I HOPE my bloke has plugged his fecking monitor in, at the very least. It's taken us 5 months to get him up into a sitting position.
11.
Very nice bass! I keep my Zoid VM6 which (thanks God!) has not managed to sell when I had difficult period of life. Now another W&T bass is in the process, but not a Zoid, which is my favourite W&T shape (if not to say the only single cut shape I dig)! Congrats!
Got any pics? I find the body really comfortable. I love the headstock too.
12. Just a quick update - I haven't forgotten about this section! It should be ready in the next few days. The blog has been built, I have the first article and first writers lined up and my IT person is drinking lots of Pepsi and eating lots of Donuts whilst matching style sheets and the like. Look out for it soon! ped
13. Hi mate nice to see you Lovely bass. I was blown away with the 'demo' bass I played a couple of years ago. It positively fizzed with sparkle (what?!) Enjoy and let us know how you get on with it ped
14. Ah, well I'm glad for you, but I'm kind of on the lookout again now! Hope the new owner enjoys such an incredible device! Cheers
15.
Hi Nemo, Can't help you with your enquiry, but could be a good idea posting it on Onlybass the French bass forum(?). I've always found it to be a Friendly forum....
Yeah Onlybass is a cool place! http://forum.onlybass.com/
16. I'm endorsed (or I endorse?) Vigier. There's no contract but basically I spoke to them when I got my first Vigier and we had some interesting chats about their basses and forthcoming designs. I bought two more vigiers (though privately) and see the 'endorsement' as a mutural respect.. I could get a discount on a new bass, but frankly I am never going to replace my 1988 bass with anything so it's fairly redundant. I guess it's nice to be able to say, but in reality it doesn't mean anything. Perhaps if I went on tour then they would be helpful but I can't see that happening, can you?
17.
Hi ped, Yes, i thought about de-fretting in the beginning. For 2 mains reasons i prefer looking for a "real" fretless : First, it is expensive and i already spent a lot for this beautiful monster. Secondly, this bass is designed for fretted sound (maple, Wengé) and slapping (broadneck). I don't want to alterate such a piece of work. The first time he saw this Streamer, my luthier said : " What a instrument, they are really well designed and built." Now i look a 6er fretless, i need to find the right tool. I don't have to ask this Maple/ Wengé Stage I to be the fretless (Alder or Azfelia or Bubinga ../ Ebony fingerboard) that i wish. Am i wrong ?
No, that all makes perfect sense. It could be very expensive to have it done properly. Good luck with the sale ped
18. I wondered if you had thought about de-fretting the Warwick?
19. Anyway, this is going nowhere and getting personal. Go outside and get some fresh air.
20. Quite looking forward to his donation. Mind you, it would eat into his profit.. Shall I hold my breath?

Fave guitar solo?

We're all bass players here but there's no doubting there's little better to do with your time than listen to a guitar solo. Especially when you know you can switch it off afterwards and not have to speak to the guitarist. My fave solo ever is by Pink Floyd on the track 'Wearing The Inside Out' - the solo at the end of the track just sounds like the guitar is speaking... whilst I consider some guitarists to make their guitars sing, I've always found Floyd solos are intellectually superior and just so complex and multi layered. I can listen to this solo again and again and never tire of it. I was thinking we should all post a youtube clip of our fave solo with a time stamp to say when the solo begins. Check out 5.10 here: Cheers ped
22. OK now updated - have a play and see what you think folks ped
23.
Ped, Can any old BassChatter post in the Affiliates forum with a link/info on a deal for all of us others to see. E.g. When I saw the deal from Coda Music over the Jubilee Weekend, are you happy enough for me to post it up in there? I thought the Affiliates forum was for owners of businesses to use, not us general throng...
Yes I think that's a good idea. It hadn't crossed my mind up until now. I'll change the forum description and perhaps re-name the forum. Cheers
