I've just heard from the supplier and everyone who has paid so far will have their shirts by Weds morning. They will invoice me later for the first bunch which will all be put into stock and we may then be able to beat the 48hr dispatch time. The first batch always takes longest because they need to find out which are most popular for stockling and the first run needs to be a certain size to allow the invoice to pay for the subsiquent stock, etc. Hope that's no longer than you guys were expecting and I hope you wear your shirts with pride. As always the shop is always open for further orders which will now be dispatched (I am promised) on the 48hr target. For international orders - just go ahead and buy and I'll soak up the shipping regardless of distance (can't garantee the postage time though!) Cheers ped

Also I think they are good for search engines too. To be honest I don't think forum threads take up much room at all so it's cool. Always good if the user amends the title to 'SOLD' though. Cheers

We're still converting posts which is locking things up so please try to be patient as it's just something we have to get done. We'll get round to doing the mobile interface also soon but again please be patient. If you feel the need to post that the forum is too slow after this message please just log out and give it a few days or something because it's just going to take a little time now. The server is all paid for and has lots of capacity to make the site super fast but we can't do anything at the moment.

I have reported to Ben. It's probably that the server is still copying data over causing it to go slow now and then, and sometimes things go wrong causing things to bunch up. There shouldn't be any problems viewing the full site on iPhone so we'll look into that too. I have to say it's very fast on mine but text entry slows down and becomes laggy. The site loads and posts very quickly on all my computers but I know it's not the same for everyone so again we'll look into it. I guess it's hard to diagnise what the issue could be when there are so many browsers and operating systems out there. Ben will be along shortly to help and answer more technically than myself Cheers ped

Yeah, server upgrade. Bitten the bullet and I'm doubling our server power tonight. Some features are being turned on and off in the meantime... we're re-enabling the search right now to see if it's stable but of not just check back tomorrow and we'll lightning quick. ped

Same for me - reported this morning. Ben is working on some things today so it might be due to that, or Invision sorting out the notifications things perhaps. Fingers crossed.

It's a strange one for sure and way beyond my capability to even synthesise a hypothesis as to what the issue might be... Ben will hopefully shed some light on it!!

Hi folks Well, it seems the transition to the new software has been easy for some, less so for others. Whilst I know that the proportion of you having issues is small, I though it would be a good idea to update you and let you know where we are. First of all, the 'notifications' (little icon next to the envelope in the top right hand side of the screen) shows a notification every time someone replies to a thread you have 'followed' (either by posting in a thread, starting a topic or clicking 'follow' in any topic or forum). It SHOULD behave in a way which shows one notification for the update, i.e 'Tom and 5 other people have replied to...'. At the moment, it doesn't. This is the software's fault, and we are waiting on an update to fix it. For the time being, you might as well turn them off if it bugs you (like if you have notifications for a really busy thread) until we fix it. Email notifications are apparently similar, behaving in the same way (several emails). This too will be fixed. I have turned off email notifications by default in your 'settings' tab so they shouldn't bother you for now. I just have emails for PM's, personally - the new system lets you read the PM in the email so you don;t have to open the website if you're on a mobile, for example. [u]'View new content' area![/u] It's the new name for the 'view new posts' bit. And it's much better. On the old site, if you posted a thread and it fell down the forum, it would be hard to find again unless you manually bookmarked it in your browser. In the new 'view new content' area you can filter to show threads in different ways. Most importantly you can display 'threads I have participated in' which is like a list of threads you have posted in. You can go to the first unread post in these threads by clicking the star icon next to the thread title. Click the orange bars on the left hand side of the 'view new content' area to play around. To de-activate the filters, click them again. [u]Mobile version[/u] The mobile version of the site was OK but because of the problems with notifications and the like, we disabled it and have allowed the full site to display. Soon, we will have a dedicated mobile site which hatches our theme which works nice and quickly on mobiles and let's you read your PMs and view the forum. You will also have the option to view the full site, should you wish. [u]Attachments[/u] We had some problems using Amazon servers (or something) for attachments so they kept on breaking. We should have fixed this any time now so they should work fine. [u]Browser problems[/u] It's very difficult to answer why one person's screen has a button in a different place, and it will take time to test the forum on different platforms. If you see something weird, please report it. More about this later. [u]Calendar[/u] Will be installed soon [u]The theme's too bloody bright![/u] Well, it's not easy to change, unfortunately. I can't afford it at the moment and if you think about it, and look at the size of the white area, it's the same as looking at MS word. Not too bad, really. The old forum was white too, probably whiter, on balance. Sorry if you don't like it, I hope you'll get used to it. One day we'll have another option perhaps but it's not a top priority. [u]Why did we upgrade, anyway?[/u] A good question, and totally valid. The problem was that the old forum was becoming a nightmare to manage with it's older system of spam filtration and other things I don't understand. The upshot is that mods were banning hundreds and hundreds of spoof accounts every day and we simply had to upgrade to the latest and most secure software. [u]What if I have a problem[/u] Please post a thread in the site issues area. Have a look first to make sure you aren't repeating anything which we are already aware of. As soon as you post the problem, we'll be aware of it and will be working on it, so don't be dismayed if it looks like you're being ignored. [u]Speed[/u] We are doing well at the moment, after a shaky start (see Amazon problem above). A server upgrade will be necessary soon to secure this speed for the foreseeable but it's a big jump financially and after paying for the upgrade and giving HMRC all my money I haven't got much available. On the old site if you posted in a thread you had to bookmark it in your browser or just remember to check back. With this forum you can find all the threads you started and participated in all under the one page. If you are having problems with email, then turn it off for now. I have never set a forum to email me when someone posts as I just visit the bookmarked 'new posts/posts I have contributed in' page where I can see all my threads at a glance. Cheers ped

As you know, though, we are all holding down full time jobs and it's not always easy to spend the whole evening making changes! We will, however, definitely get there in the end. I don't know if there's a 'huge bug' with the particular part you refer to, because nobody else seems to be having that particular problem, so it may well be an isolated issue. I can appreciate it must be frustrating but you could try marking everything as read and see if that helps. Rest assured, we are looking to fix every single little issue one at a time. ped

Hi Try this. Turn notifications off completely. To see if someone has posted on a thread you have participated in, use the filters in the new content box. Now you can see everything far more easily than before.

[/quote] Speed is now up to the speed of the previous site, but we were doing some work on the attachment system and as a result there was a bit of slow time as it was being fixed. RE notifications. I tend to keep track of my threads using the new and improved 'new content' area, where I can select 'threads I started' or 'Threads I participated in' and go to first unread post as normal. Notifications I have for email and if I'm quoted, and sometimes I'll turn them on if I post something which isn;t likely to have 19 pages of replies, like a random thread asking for help notating a track. Once you tailor it to your needs it's really useful. Can I suggest turning them off altogether and looking at 'new content' area instead for now, as that's a good place to start. Cheers
