The last forum was just as white, so it's probably just adjusting to the new size of the boxes etc..

I used to have three of the same, one 4, one 5, one fretless. It worked really well, but now I just have the 4.

Hi A friend has asked me to help them 'work out the chords' for this track - I can't play guitar and have no idea... can anyone help? http://vimeo.com/24935547 Thanks ped

[quote name='wateroftyne' timestamp='1316435288' post='1377925'] Tap the star to the left of the thread title, and it'll take you to the last unread post. Ped.. an FAQ for this stuff would *really* help... [/quote] Yup it's just finding the time - remember I have a job too! Mobile interface is being looked at and we'll have the option to use the full site. We actually had that at the beginning so don't know why it's gone!

Andy's idea is probably best but as long as you write them somewhere we'll pick it up, don't worry. I think all the small problems have been identified now, anyway. ped

[quote name='BigRedX' timestamp='1316419612' post='1377664'] Thanks Ped. A daily status report on where you are with various issues might be a good idea (unless it takes too much time away from actually fixing the issues). [/quote] Yeah again good idea but with three of us working on different things I don;t always know what's happenning either!! To be honest we don't have many issues considering the extent of the change so I just wanted to thank everyone for their patience and understanding at this time... like I said we HAD to move to the new software because of the new anti-spam bits and the admin functions and I personally think it's a big improvement. Cheers

[quote name='dave_bass5' timestamp='1316419399' post='1377660'] Its no biggie, something im sure we will all get used to. I think it all looks less cluttered and clearer, its just i seem to be scrolling the page a bit more than i used to. Some forums have skins that allow you to change the font size, i guess we dont have that option. [/quote] I don't think so, no. Someone mentioned about reducing the size using Ctrl+ something if you are really determined.

[quote name='dave_bass5' timestamp='1316418919' post='1377654'] Now im back at work on a normal size 4:3 monitor i must admit i dont like the layout. Everything just seems a little too big and too much wasted space. Im sure ill get used to it though. [/quote] OK. I really like it, myself - there's little we can do to change it I'm afraid.

[quote name='BigRedX' timestamp='1316418740' post='1377649'] I think it would be useful if there was a single thread for reporting bugs and missing features, that incorporates a status update on any reports. I've posted details of several things that I would consider quite major bugs, and couple of features that the old version had that are now missing, but I don't know whether you've missed them, are fixing them as I type, or if I'm going to have to live with how things are now. Just in case you've missed them here they are again plus a couple of other ones that I've found. 1. Loss of page focus after posting using the "Reply to this topic" box. 2. Images placed using the IMG tag do not resize if they are wider than the forum width 3. Images placed using the attachments function no longer open in a new window. Also the sizing information is missing so it's no longer possible to see if clicking on the image is actually going to worthwhile or if it's only going to be marginally bigger than the thumbnail in the post. 4. Is it possible to make the user pop-ups click activated rather than hover activated? IMO there's nothing less user friendly than stuff being activated and covering what you are trying to look at simply because your mouse happens to be in the wrong place. 5. Is it possible to bring back the "Mark forum as read and return to the board index" function? This one that I used to use a lot and I'm missing it. 6. Reduce the amount of white space between items very slightly. It doesn't have to be by much. Just a pixel or two should bring things back to a manageable state. 7. Where is the calendar? Thanks for listening. [/quote] Thanks - we are working through and listening to everyone, fixing up things as we go. Very busy yesterday and I'm at work today so won't have much chance to do anything until tonight. Cheers

[quote name='KiOgon' timestamp='1316417685' post='1377637'] Where has the WIKI gone? I can't find it anywhere [/quote] It's a lot of work to get it on this site apparently, so as it wasn't being used much we have put it to one side for the time being. Not sure what we'll do with it yet.
-
[quote name='ikay' timestamp='1316416617' post='1377629'] The new site looks good but it's noticeably slower moving around and loading pages than the old one ... (on my pc at any rate) [/quote] See thread RE latency in site issues forum

Noted - we're working on it

Thanks - not sure what's going on here but all's well that ends well!

[quote name='wateroftyne' timestamp='1316382276' post='1377452'] Cheers, Ped. You must feel like we're hammering you... [/quote] I expected it to be honest, but I don't know much more than you guys technically. If I had the time I would have made a FAQ guide or something.

[quote name='Ou7shined' timestamp='1316382259' post='1377451'] Right-ee-o. What about animated gifs? [/quote] Happy Jack's dancing spiderman isn't playing so it looks as though they are not working, so I'll look into it now.

[quote name='wateroftyne' timestamp='1316382072' post='1377442'] I think we're at cross purposes - all we want is a single notification when a reply is posted - not one for every instance.... [/quote] Oh, I see. Sorry, I don't know. Will pass it up the chain. Use the 'view new content' bit and select the type (i.e 'topics I have posted in') to get a list of threads you want to see if the notifications are getting out of hand, for now.
-
[quote name='dave_bass5' timestamp='1316381894' post='1377435'] Does this mean we wont get any notification until we log back in to this site? [/quote] You won't get emails at all if the box isn't ticked
-
[quote name='wateroftyne' timestamp='1316381881' post='1377434'] But... does that mean we'll not get [i]any[/i] reply notifications? [/quote] Nope, just that you won;t have the email box ticked by default. You can still tick whatever you like.

[quote name='Ou7shined' timestamp='1316381856' post='1377431'] Ped. I've also noticed that my avatar isn't quite what it used to be. It's fine in my profile view but out here it's... well you can see for yourself. Will this be a permanent feature? [/quote] That's how big your avatar will be, so you might need to re-upload and re-crop it I'm afraid

[quote name='MrRatty' timestamp='1316381775' post='1377428'] I don't know why this should be but the "Jack" on this page is: [url="http://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/basschat-uploads-live/profile/photo-thumb-333.gif"]http://s3-eu-west-1....o-thumb-333.gif[/url] which doesn't dance while the picture on Jack's profile page is: [url="http://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/basschat-uploads-live/profile/photo-333.gif"]http://s3-eu-west-1....e/photo-333.gif[/url] which does dance. Somehow the link on the post pages needs to be made to be the latter rather than the former. Any ideas admins? [/quote] Maybe he's tired? Seriously, no idea - another thing to add to the list!!

[quote name='dave_bass5' timestamp='1316344884' post='1376700'] I think you need to turn "Immediate" off, That seems to have fixed it for me. EDIT: Ah nuts, thats not working either. Lets hope someone figures it out quickly as my indox is filling up fast. At this rate ill not need to log on to BC to read the threads. [/quote] Should be sorted now, I have turned email notification by default off for everything except PMs. ped

[quote name='Marvin' timestamp='1316380824' post='1377401'] On my profile I've got a big green box that's got '1' and 'neutral' in it. What does it mean? And perhaps 'Site news/issues' should be hidden, the outside world will think we're all technical idiots if they read this thread AAAGGGHHH! a pop up box that says '1 reply added'. Added where? To what? I'm off to have a lie down. [/quote] Every time someone 'likes' a post (I just liked one of yours) it'll add 1 to that box. Not sure why, but it'll be interesting to see what happens with it, anyway. That box is a live feed to tell you that someone posted whilst you were typing.

[quote name='Ou7shined' timestamp='1316380718' post='1377397'] Back on the laptop resolution and it's still the same. [/quote] OK that is strange... I'll raise with Ben and see what it might be!
-
[quote name='BigBeatNut' timestamp='1316380466' post='1377391'] *cough* [/quote] Haha yeah separate issues would be easier to follow if raised there, but I kind of asked for people to post here so I think we'll just have to strap in and hold on! Good idea though so anyone listening please go ahead and make a new post in the issues area.

[quote name='dave_bass5' timestamp='1316379927' post='1377373'] Ped. I think it might be browser related. In IE9 the Follow button is on the right, using compatability mode its on the left and looks like the IE8 screen shots. Just saying. [/quote] Thanks I'll pass that on
