1. Most recent update - all current orders will be dispatched on Thursday 22nd Sept; from then onwards we will be at our 48hr dispatch target. Hope this is OK - sorry if it's longer than you expected but the embroiderer has to make sure the stock is up to a healthy level. Thanks again for all your orders and for supporting the site through your purchases. If you are unsure of sizes hold fire and I'll make some annotated sizing guides with exact data! Cheers ped
2. I'll try and get one of each size so I can measure it myself and update the sizes if they are different, but they should be as they are stated on the listing. Any problems, you should be able to return it for an exchange or refund. I'm meeting the supplier on Monday so I'll clarify any questions then and get him to bring an example of each size along. Thanks for the support and orders ped
3. Thanks for the orders so far. The first batch of orders will be shipped any day now, as I stated on the page there is initially some delay as the supplier gets up to speed but I think we are almost there now. I'm speaking to them later and I think we will be on schedule and stocked up for a 48hr dispatch very soon. Thanks again ped
4. Sometimes these players are successful because of their attitude, too. Steve is probably a dream to work with and a really nice guy. Probably.
5. I'll probably go - never seen Marcus before so it will be an experience. Nothing better to do, so why not. I feel it would be good to support the event, too. Hats off to Stevie for organising it again, it can't be easy. ped
6. I own my gear, it doesn't own me. Or so I thought. Bass wise, I'm fine. I used to have loads, sell and trade them all the time, but one stuck with me for a long time and now it's all I have. It feels like home. Weather it's expensive or not doesn't matter - it sounds great and feels great and I can treat it normally without having to be prescious. Camera wise, though, things happened differently. Starting with a small but nice compact I went for a DSLR, then my grandfather gave me a pretty little 50s rangefinder film camera. I used all three and really enjoyed myself, especially with the little 50s gem, film was just lots of fun and very satisfying. Naturally, swayed by the hype and the crowd, I went for a Leica, a very expensive version of this cheap old 50s camera. I got sucked in; bought expensive lenses, developing kit, lens hoods costing more than a normal camera, etc. Then I realised that the gear was starting to become what I liked about photography, and my little 50s camera was looking at me all sad. I took it out for a spin and upon my return sold my Leica and all the gear. Just because it was expensive and had the 'hype' I lost sight of what I enjoyed about the whole practice. Now I have three cameras that I don't plan on selling or moving on any time soon, because I am back to enjoying taking pictures again. And one of those cameras is from the 50s. I get why people want to buy the next fancy bass, amplifier or speaker. It's natural. But I'm increasingly of the opinion that I am lucky to have what I have now, and that I should put my money towards looking after it and making it work. Also buying a Basschat Polo Shirt is a good use of money in general *cough* Cheers ped
7.
I don't want to sound stuffy or a right whinger (ok i know i will) but i don't like the design Yep, its personal taste but i think they look a bit geeky (ok, i reaslise this is an internet forum). The hollow logo thing on the breast ain't brilliant and it all looks a bit floppy, corporate and uninspiring. I'd love to see good quality round-neck black, red, grey, white tees with a juicy print on the front and/or back. Maybe a bit of humour? Just sayin...
Thanks for the feedback. I wanted to have the logo on these as the first and foremost objective. Perhaps I'll think about other designs down the road but not sure humour works that well on Polo shirts, I could be wrong ped
8. Any product ideas happily recieved - I'm looking at getting some beautiful leather straps made by hand in Italy, same place who make my camera straps. They will be expensive but REALLY nice. I'm just under 6ft. If the Polo is too big or small you may return it for an exchange or refund, I am told. Best message me first in that instance. The measurements on the first page are correct so get out the tape measure and have a check. Cheers ped
9. The sizes are very generous yeah, I'm wearing a medium in the pics.
10.
Is there anyway to buy without using paypal? (I don't have a paypal account and would prefer not to open one).
Yes you can do a bank transfer if you like, please PM me your address and order and I'll pm the bank details. I'm setting up a proper card payment gateway but it won't be working until we change to the new site when I'll start getting it ready. Might be a while though!! Cheers Ped
11.
Ped, you need to do that 'point to the horizon' thing that they do in bad catalogues. oh, and a matching female model would be good too.
I have a hot female model lined up for some future products... and I'm not talking about Nellie <---------- Thanks for the 'pointing' tip, I'll give it a try. Perhaps I should see if Littlewoods are up for it
12. Go for it - you can buy them now, see the first post for the link! The machine heads... they have always had the little animals on because they keep the machine heads form shrinking under cold temperatures and causing microscopic tuning changes. That, or they just look funny... ped
13. Shop now LIVE http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=154462 Many thanks ped
14.
Also thats a lovely looking vigier
Thanks Had her 9 years now and she's the only one for me!
15. Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I should have the final details (sizing, returns etc) today but as soon as they are ready I'll make a forum at the top of the list called the BC Shop. As we are moving to the new site very soon I'll leave it like that for a bit because the new site has a special shop tab instead. I'm not sure what I'll do for the bass bash, because the stock comes directly from the supplier (so I don't front up any cash for stock) I won't be able to bring any unless I have some spare cash before the event - and even if I do, I don't want to risk returning home with some spares. I'll probably just model mine (plus hopefully some others will have their own by then) and ask people to purchase through the site for simplicities sake. I'm really working up against it cost wise. Spreadshirt et al. are OK but they pay very little and basically do the job I just did myself for you. I cut out the middleman and as such have kept prices down for you lot. More news soon and once again thanks for the continued support ped
16. I have just taken delivery of the sample Basschat Polo shirts. I'm just waiting on a few details before I can offer them up for sale direct from the embroiderer for a 48hr dispatch. Here are some pictures showing them in all their glory - with new new site (brand new BC software) being launched hopefully next week, it's an exciting time for us which we have been working towards for a long time now. I'm really glad it's coming together at last. I'm still working out final prices but they will be very reasonable, so really you should buy one of each. I hope you like them, it's taken a while to get them right and I'm really pleased with them. Cheers ped P.s any ladies interested give me a call, you might get a free shirt. EDIT: BUY using the shop tab
17. I think it's going to be ready for final testing this week, hopefully. We'll probably leave the old one running and let people 'preview' the new site for a little bit before switching over so people can get used to it and we can take feedback. Should be really nice, I'm very excited! Cheers ped
18. It's the only limitation I was able to put on the area; I wasn't able to put some sort of limit on the number of posts that affiliates could make (to stop some people taking the piss) and as it turns out it's worked well as it is. The new version of the site which I have recently been previewing will have the ability to 'subscribe' to threads so it'll be far easier to manage, they appear like facebook notifications rather than emails. I would like to keep the affiliates area but I can't justify making is wholly visible in the 'new posts' area for free as it would undermine our paying sponsors who we really need at the moment whilst we're upgrading. Initially I hoped was that the affiliates forum would lead to donations from the companies but this hasn't worked, hence the change. Hope that makes sense...
19. First of all you'll need very neutral headphones. I have always used Shure E2Cs with foam inserts. I play through my Vbass unit and it's the same sound I have on stage (Vbass goes into a poweramp) Other than that, it's all about keeping everything flat where possible, or at least mimic the characteristics of your amp. It's a difficult one but I suppose only you'll know when you get the same sound everywhere. I find having one bass helps because you can get to know it's sound in a variety of environments and know what to expect from it. ped
20. It's been like that for a while now, certainly a long time before I locked and re-opened it. Cheers ped
