Hot bass shots

I can't get the shutter speed fast enough to capture your blisteringly fast playing. Remember we tried that one time and the carpet set on fire? Or were we doing something else? Can't remember...

Hot bass shots

Hehe She's playing the Epiphone ET-180 or something - a little short scale bass which I will have up for sale soon. Tayste has one, too. Cheers ped

4. I think they are the Zon equivalent of my own fave bass... would love to try one and compare... eBay you say? ;0)
5. Love the Legacy... lovely
6. Great bass and obviously one you feel really 'at home' on because of the time you have spent working with it. It looks very tactile and funky. I would love to try one! ped
7. Just let me have a go on that soon!
8. Lovely lovely lovely lovely!
9. What I like is the consistency. Vigier have a very clever system where the graphite neck in half neck-thru so it stops just before the pickups. I think the key to a good graphite neck is first of all stability (not all I have tried or owned have been straight and I can't stand much neck relief) and the body wood character is even more critical than with a wooden neck, IME. Get the right wood on the right neck and the two resonate and work together beautifully. There is no single best way of doing it and there are many good and bad necks, graphite or otherwise, and I think the neck itself is merely a part of the whole picture. As a sum of its parts, a graphite neck will enhance (or spoil) a bass depending on a whole host of other factors. Cheers ped
10.
I think the opening paragraph is missing a hyphen: Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament and a band employee were attacked by three-armed people in the parking lot of Southern Tracks Recording Studio ..' Wow. I hope someone took photos... it must have been quite a sight.
11. Last one looks photoshopped, somehow?
12. Fairly random one Dunno what I was trying to do here TBH
13. Where are you based?
14. I would prefer Omar Hakim to smash me up with a pool que and a flatpack bedside table
15. I reckon JR might find your house and do a flying kick through your front door/your face hehe
16. Oh yeah, that too!
17. Is your username dedicated to the John 'JR' Robinson album?
18. IME you won't notice much difference in the volume between a single 8 or 4 ohm cab. I could be wrong though, but I have never noticed any difference....
19. Marleaux
20. I have played this bass and it is great - I am sure the many owners on BC will agree they really are fantastically made basses. Great VFM... and buy with confidence, Matt is a nice enough chap. Only just.
21. If you call up Mr. East you could try his outboard Jretro (possibly he has the ACG too) with your very own bass. He is based near Oxford just on the M40.
22. I have a Marleaux 3eq pre in my bass - normally it is bypassed but what I really like about it (and the reason I got the East for my freteless) is the treble boost at 8khz which just works really well for a bit of extra cut live. ped
23. Here is the Basschat Youtube page which might provide some inspiration http://www.youtube.com/groups_videos?name=basschat
24. They have the GK3B at The Bass Gallery by the way. Thanks for the info, will wait for my friend to get back to me with these questions and will be in touch! I'm turning into Richard Bona! ped
25. Yeah when I recorded my lil youtube vid we set up a camera, played the sound direct to desk which was being recorded on Digital Performer (but you could use anything) When we finished we grabbed the video and the audio as two separate streams and synced them together in iMovie (but you could just as easily do it in Windows Movie Maker). Mike's idea of a 4 bar count to aid syncing is good, wish I thought of that because it took a bit of luck getting it spot on. It worked really well and we didn't have to rely on the quality of the mic on the camera and/or acoustics etc. Let us know how you get on. I plan on doing a couple myself now that I have a new computer based recording package. Cheers ped
