1. Hi mate, Yeah I love my E2cs for bass but with the iPod they are almost too revealing, hard to put my finger on it. Perhaps they would sound better with the rubber sleeves instead of the foam ones I use for bass playing. I have some cheapish Sennheiser in ear headphones which I use when the Grado's are too cumbersome and they sound great - a little lively in the top end perhaps and being airtight you can hear any noise from moving the cable/walking/eating magnified x10 which can be frustrating! Here they are: http://www.sennheiser.co.uk/uk/icm.nsf/root/500968 ped
2. Met Mistahbenn today to pick up a couple of speakers - lovely job. Highly recommended :-) Cheers ped P.s I merged your two feedback threads together mate.

My collection!

Just updating my thread with my latest bit of gear: Today I got some cabs at last and now my pro quality rig for under £300 is complete. It sounds fantastic, everything I wanted. I can plug my bass straight into the power amp or use the Vbass into the amp in stereo. The cabs have a thunderous low end and are really REALLY articulate and clear. I will still be using IEMs 99% of the time but this fits the bill for the other 1%. The cabs are pretty light (about 55lbs) and quite compact (4x8 and 1x15) so moving it about should be easier and the two cabs fit in the boot of my Vectra! Cheers ped

Show us your rig!

Josh, does that Gramma pad make any difference? I would be interested to hear your thoughts. Today I got some cabs at last and now my pro quality rig for under £300 is complete. 5. Hi guys I need speakon to jack leads instead but the little twerp of a 'manager' in maplins wouldn't swap them despite the ones I wanted being £6 cheaper each. £20 for both posted or a tenner each. Would like a swap for two speakon to jack leads instead preferably but I realise it's probably a long shot. Should have bought the leads from maplins but I told the boy to stick them up his arse so can't really go back. Ped
6. I still want Basschat plates for the BC team... PED5 81TCH 1, PED5 81TCH 2, PED5 81TCH 3 etc
7.
I agree with you on this point, its almost liberating. Steve
Yeah, nothing quite like knowing the bass in your hands is 'the one' so you can focus totally on the music... ped
8. Cool rig, I tried an almost identical rig at the SEBB and it was superb, really suited me!
9. Personally a 200w power section for me is the best balance of sound, weight and volume. I also thought the visual bias system on the Trace was one of the most useful features I have seen. Other than that, keep it simple, I think. The amp should be about a great core sound without the need for powerful EQs and so on. ped
10. Very odd - have you tried logging out and back in again? If you don't have any joy try sending Phatmonkey a PM. Cheers ped
11. Yeah I loved it. Cool bass.
12.
I'm trying to think of a smart and witty retort, but I'm struggling......
'So's yer face'
13. Just realised that my pickup naming thing comes form my vbass. Neck pickup is referred to as the 'Front' pickup and the bridge as the 'back' pickup.
14. I thought 'Front' (neck pickup) and 'back' (bridge pickup) were generally accepted terms :0)
15.
Have got this issue but not read it fully yet, however I think they spend far too much time deliberating on the differences between hugely expensive custom basses. There are budget/mid price basses in there, but not many. It comes across as that they are reviewing them more for their own benefit than the average bassist.
I dunno, I think high end custom basses have more interesting things to talk about than sub £300 models. Not being snobby, but imagine a car magazine only reviewing cheap hatchbacks and ignoring dream cars which we all like to look at. All reviews of run of the mill budget basses (irrespective of their quality and value) all sound the same, to me. Especially when the magazine reviews are usually always positive. ped
16. Hehe yeah I am on it. I just need to wait for my money to land and then I can see what I have to play with. I don't make much/any money with these but I will get my money back, so I need to make sure I have enough in the coffers to take a hit whilst I shift them all. I should be all paid up by the 14th so I will be expecting new stock to be advertised on a purpose built Basschat Shop very soon... ped
17. Cool looking bass. The front pickup does look a bit close to the neck for me, but I would have to try one to know for sure. A nice change from the norm. ped
18. I got mine from Stringbusters. It is more 'substantial' than a Comfort Strapp and less 'bouncy' so it works well with really heavy basses. Cheers ped http://www.stringbusters.com/frameset.asp?...ROOKLYN%20GEAR/
19. Thanks mate (I assume he is talking about the way they are put together rather than the specifics of the internals Ste) Cheers ped
20. It kind of gets stuck in the foam.. from there it pokes through the driver grille kind of bit... every now and then I remove the foam for a clean... maybe I shouldn't wear them after a haircut!!
21. I love my SR60s but wanted to ask a quick Q about the 80s. On the 60s the foam comes off to expose the driver, and hair can quite easily get trapped between the two resulting in rattling (after years of use there are lots of little hairs stuck in the foam earpieces). Are the 80s the same or do they have different foam in a donut shape as opposed to the flying saucer on the 60s? ped
22. I recall hearing Tauzero on his Thumb bass which was mighty impressive. And you aren't so bad yourself Kiwi my old son!
23. Thanks for the kind words fellas! I never intended for anyone to like my music apart from me! Lovely stuff. I really like listening to Basschatter's bands. I have listened to pretty much everyone who has posted a link or has a website in their sig, so there are way too many to mention, but I kept going back to listen to Elros' gospel band who were superb... Cheers ped
24.
I have a genuine problem with discussing "price" as opposed to "worth"
OK so why post!!
