1. Someone buy it!!! Maybe a sound clip of my own similar bass would help things - or totally kill off any interest!!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WILDNiF6k38 Cheers ped

Oxford Gig

Wish I had seen this sooner, I would have had an excuse to get out of watching 'The Reader' at the cinema tonight.... Have a good one and let's hook up soon, maybe a mini Oxford bash! ped

Still waiting mate!! The guitarist has been working on a theme tune for a children's series of books! I plan on going up there ASAP to kick him into gear!! Sorry!! ped

Rock clip

Hi mate, This was recorded by my guitar player - Vigier Excalibur into an original pod into desk and a miced up Pearl kit plus some mesisng about, I think! Cheers! ped
5. Yea some of those old Peaveys are cool. There was a keyboard amplifier at the practice studio which sounded great with bass. Must have cost about a tenner, too!
6. Gotta be the Roland Vbass!
7. We need lots more loops from people to make the section really grow! Come on folks! Anything will do! ped
8. I think a list of stickies would be more appropriate, some essential reading for beginners perhaps. I don't think the environment here is the least bit hostile towards beginners - quite the opposite. I will see what the others think about it! ped
9. We are all beginners at something, so there are no 'stupid' questions. Just ask away and dive in. If someone tries to make you feel stupid, feel sorry for them. ped
10. I am with Musky on this one. We don't want to draw lines between abilities on the forum as much as we don't want to divide the forum with some being 'supporting members' and so forth. I don't think there is any question you couldn't ask about beginner things that wouldn't be answered to the fullest in any current forum. The ones that do grumble are just seeking attention :0) Cheers ped
11. Sometimes I wonder!!
12. Looks good enough to eat... I hope I get to play it soon! You must be really happy. Is this... dare I say it... THE ONE? ped
13. Just because the bass might have graphite doesn't mean the sound wouldn't be unique or the bass won't have any character. The wood makes an even bigger difference when paired with a graphite neck in my experience. Active Eq's are good I think - always have mine bypassed but why not have the extra control if you need.
14. Looks a lot like the Aria that famous geezer plays. Looks nice, I think.
15. Hi Rich, welcome back mate. Great to see you! So now Uni is over, what are you doing with yourself? Cheers ped
16. Cool, looking forward to checkin' it out!
17. I thought that R shape might have been a reflection from the 'slap cut' on the body of a TRB. The top looks contoured a bit like an Aria though so not sure now. Perhaps it is a custom build?
18. Yeah I listened to some of their stuff, they sounded quite good. Warwicks definitely have a nice 'clack' to them too, I am not sure what the best ingredients are for that sound but I think it has to be a mix of a straight stiff neck, low action, soft body and pickups near the sweet spot. Cheers ped
19. LOl. I think my house has concrete foundations, but have heard of cowboys using all sorts!
20. Hehe awesome. You need to get that slant on your house fixed!
21. Yamaha TRB I think
22. It does lend itself to that sound very nicely - I use wimpy thin strings too so all in all it is quite effortless to play. I like it so that when you dig in, it sounds almost like a slap. hard to describe. I normally play with a light touch so any variation in plucking technique is amplified massively, and of course, mistakes really stand out and make me look even more of a bender than usual. Cheers ped
23. Yeah I am going to sort a poll soon, need to establish how I am going to go about organising the higher volumes first. Watch this space! ped P.s we need a thread of people posing/gigging in their BC gear!!
24. Ah brill. Glad you like it. The print quality is apparently quite good too, should last a while!
25. Great stuff guys! Four out of Sixteen isn't bad for Royal Mail, eh ;0) Cheers ped
