1. Personally, 4. I normally drop my E to D and this sounds much better on a 4 than playing a 5er to D.
2. I love this sound. I have my action extremely low and no relief in my neck so that when I dig in I get a bit of 'clack'. My sound otherwise is quite smooth and a bit of clack really helps define the bottom end. Watch my 'demo' video on my websh*te (link in sig) for my interpretation of the sound. I don't like basses with higher action because I find them harder to play and I can't get that sound if I dig in, it just goes 'buh' Cheers! ped
3. Hehe you know what - I listened to it on my laptop and didn't realise there was bass in it because of these speakers!! I will have another listen later!! ped
4. I like it too mate, sounds great. You should still be able to pan yourself in Mono, but stereo will give your reverbs and so on a bit of room to breathe, but not really any need most of the time. Nice tune though man, really good. ped
5. Hi Bob - would be very interested to see some pics of the home build. We have quite a few DIY enthusiasts here, too. Have a look in the 'Build Diary' forum. Cheers ped
6. I was just about to say the same, or Robbie at RIM; I remember him talking about sourcing some rods for himself. Cheers ped
7.
Sorry are you selling a bass or bragging about your life?
Set up a poll?
8. How bad exactly is the brassware? Is it not something you could do with some brasso and cotton tipped buds etc? I use 'Peek' metal cleaner on my fretless bass neck (brass/zinc mix) and it comes up beautifully. Cheers ped
9. Hehe naah its a pleasure. It's my way of thanking everyone on BC for being so great! Group hug! ped
10. There is almost TOO MUCH choice to be honest so narrowing it down to 3 or 4 that everyone will like is hard. The best thing is for me to make batches of different things and sell them as and when, until I can organise an automated shop where items are made to order, but this will mean the T shirts are more expensive. £16 posted means no profit for me and just about break even, which is what I am trying to aim for. Low prices and good gear... Cheers ped
11. The latter mate. Not final yet but think it would look pretty cool. Cheers]ped
12. XXL is 47-49 inches. Will probably go with the 4 designs mentioned next otherwise things will get rather complicated. I can't see XXXL sizes but will ask about it. Cheers ped P.s Poll is coming soon so you can register your interest there.
13. Used to use Elites Player series strings but now sold on Elixirs - current set over a year old and sound new when compared to a brand new set of Elites ( a little test I did a month or so ago to make sure I wasn't deceiving myself!) ped
14. OK dudes, black with orange print white ribbed with black with black print, long sleeve black with grey sleeves and orange print caps/beanies ....will all be available soon. I will just set up a poll so people can pre-order items when I am sure of what I will buy. Cheers ped
15. Hehe. I am lucky enough to have found 'the one (fretted and fretless, ahem)' so I don't think I will buy another bass, to be honest! This means I have a bit of money for the first time ever and can waste money on other expensive hobbies!! Cheerz pedro
16.
Just kidding outtoplayjazz, status make some cracking instruments!
Whimp
17. I have little doubt that the Vigier would be better value for money, but that has a lot to do with the fact they are relatively unknown and probably because they smell of onions. The Ray is expensive for what it is (from a technical point of view) and arguably the price is inflated due to the whole 'vintage' baggage but if it feels that good then you will have to bite the bullet and suck it up just this once. It sounds like you won't regret it and can then sit back and chill with 'the one' whilst you watch people go crazy buying and trading basses. It's a lovely place to be, believe me! Actually Hamster said it better!
18.
Basschat straps would be easy. Someone I know who lives just down the road sells custom embroidered straps. I might be able to get a discount for a bulk order.
Hi Pete, That sounds great. If you could ask a few questions regarding a bulk order that would be great, or send me his details and I can have a word... Cheers ped P.s just posted all T shirts first class. Bloke in the post office was a cool dude.
19. Us graphite pioneers need to stick together :0)
20. Uh oh, that's torn it!!! *runs for cover* tee hee ;0)
21. Sounds like a no brainer to me mate, Ray that mofo'
22. Hehe I know I know, just being devilish! Cheers pedro
23. I think he smells of hot magnets
24. The colour was to match the logo and font at the top of the page. I tried to get some black and white T shirts and have the logo printed with orange and black outline but I didn't find the shirts at a very good price unless they were paper thin and nasty. I have found a good place now though and will have some more asap. Peter is right - bright is best!! Wouldn't say no to some tie-dye ones! ped
