1. Sorry to hear that :0( Still, better to have loved and lost... You might be able to find a similar one at some point, I had a real hankering for one myself a while back and unearthed a few. Cheers ped
2. Would you be able to get the yammie back, or have you lost track of it?
3. Nothing like being reacquainted with an old friend! Cheers ped
4. Very nice :0) That bridge isn't odd - its a Schaller 3D and one of the best designs out there IMO! Cheers ped
5. I would buy a glass! Does it come full of beer? :0)
6. Sweeet, keep the pics coming...
7. Stunning! You can tell just by looking at it that it plays like butter!
8. I just think Warwick basses are tremendously popular now (just look at the 'What do YOU play' thread poll) so they are very common. And I suppose they stick out like a sore 'thumb' .... eh? .... EH? Thankyouverymuch
9.
Sorry guys, forget the hedgehog jokes, there is only 1 car for the jobbing musician, particularly if you also have to transport drummer, PA, you name it.... It can only be a Volvo estate... 240, 740, 850, V70... Very little difference in capacity, my flightcases go across the back, and with the seats down about the same floorspace as a transit van! Well maybe not quite, but I have transported Amp, 410, 115 cab, AND the two top speakers and stands from our PA, and the Guitarist with his gear too.... Not forgetting mic stands, cable trunk and my three basses... My V70 does 40MPG on diesel, so not as juicy as you would have thought either... Oh and its a proper car, not an MPV or converted van, so comfortable too!! You can pick up an old one reasonably cheaply, safe in the knowledge the diesel engine is good for 200,000 miles Nuff said!!
+1, my dearly departed 440 used to eat anything you threw in it.
10. Xanita swallows a case width-wise in the boot....

Sounds like a great event - I won't be able to make it but expect a full report from those that can!! Cheers ped
12. Kiwi you forgot that we ALSO squeezed in two more basses in hard cases (the Smiths)
13. I am about quarter of the way through it, so won't be long. Great read! Bassassin I will PM you when I am done! Cheers ped P.s Cheers angelboy for sending :0)
14.
You know Steve, I think you may be right... What's that jazz-alike at the front right, second row? Is it a Sadowsky?
That's a Sei I think
15. My comment was aimed at Ferret matey!
16.
Looks very Warrior-ish.
+1 - cool looking bass, I like the headstock. The pickups look like Lane Poors! ped

Hey

Welcome to Basschat. I love those Line 6 combos. Tempted with the new 2x10 version... Get stuck in! ped
18. Hehe well one day! Sounds like your method for the aforementioned sound is a winner, too. It's all about the dynamics if you ask me! Let me know when you make it big and I can think of a way to invoice you for something! Cheers ped
19. I have had two identical basses, one alder and one ash, and there was a marked difference. You are correct though, it is a small factor with all things considered but I think people who say it makes NO difference are as incorrect as those who think it makes ALL the difference. Nuts? pah... Gimme a zero fret any day ;0) Cheers ped
20. ...But then ped gets no royalties!! Sort it out son!
21. Every time you record with this patch I get some money
22. People intonate for a reason, don't they? like I said, weather it makes an audible difference is not my argument - but you might as well get off to a good start, eh? Oh and whilst we are in disagreement I DO hold SOME stock in the 'x wood sounds like this' argument, though it is just a part of a larger picture which depends on the sum of the parts.
23. I had some bartolini BC soapbars in a bass that were very warm and crisp. Highly recommended! Barts just have to be in the right bass! ped
