Stereo amplifier
I'm thinking along the lines of a stereo power amp (using the V bass as a pre). You would have to fit XLR connectors to the amp end of your leads but I reckon that would work.
That sounds like a winner. The Vbass has XLR outputs too so could use those. Do you know of a semi decent power amp? Kiwi I looked at active monitors but their performance at low volume is quite variable and they can be expensive for a decent active set... Cheers ped
2. Cool vids, thanks a lot. I tried to embed them but failed miserably - the links you provided work great anyway. Cheers ped
3. Hi guys, Sort of looking for a stereo setup for lowish volume practice and gigging (will use IEMs for anything large so the amp needn't be very loud). I used to really like Hartke gear, so was thinking two 210xl cabinets would suffice. What head should I get though? Coming from my Vbass I will have two 1/4" outputs, left and right. I looked at the LH series amplifiers but don't think they would work, the Kilo looks like it would but possibly overkill... Is/was there a stereo version of the 3500? Used to love that thing. Maybe I should buy two?? I never really was that into amplifiers so need some pointers. Think I am settled on the 210XL cabs (they are the ideal weight/vol for me) so need some head pointers... Two 1/4" jacks, two speakers... fill the gap! Budget? Not sure really, maybe up to £400 for a head, less if possible. I also considered two combos but think that would be an expensive option... Cheers ped

5. Let's take it one step at a time ;0)
6. I like the more specific subforum idea... Will have a think and possibly implement the changes soon, certainly for amps/cabs/effects. Cheers ped

Lifers

Hi folks, Over the years I have seen members come and go, millions of basses change hands and a few fads wax and wane. I wanted to see who, during this seemingly never ending process of gear buying/selling, has been fortunate enough to have found 'the one'. I don't mean your favourite bass at the moment, or the one you have had the longest, but the bass you will ALWAYS keep and use the most, the one that is 'your' sound. So have you got the bass for you? I know of a few people who have, so post pics and maybe a lil story or a bit of info about the bass that makes it special. It might cost a tenner, ten grand or anything in between... Cheers ped

POD X3 Live

Great stuff :0)
10. Just sent this: ------------ Hi there, I am interested in this item. Could you tell me where and when you bought the bass, weather it came with all the hardware shown (especially the ashtray covers) and the serial number (this will settle my mind about its age and exact model) Look forward to hearing from you ------------ Bear in mind my username on eBay is WWWBASSCHATCOUK !!!! ped
11. Good choices Yorks! I would probably go for: Mike Patton - Vox Me - Bass Christophe Godin - Guitar JR Robinson - Drums
12. Is it a slab front? I found slab bodies a bit uncomfortable myself. Cheers ped
13. I like the 'tennis ball' one he did! Awesome!
14. Lolz good one. I was ready to get all angry about the landlord! ped
15. Looks great (both versions). I like your approach to building, trial and error and a spirit for adventure. I wish I had the skills to play around like that, too. Cheers ped
16. Cool samples, great sounding bass.
17. Hi mate, glad you like it. Interesting you mention the top horn, a year later the design was changed and the horns brought 'in' a bit more. I have had a few Passions now and I have to say I MUCH prefer the Schaller bridge to the newer Kahler units. I suppose the chrome looks a little out of place, a black one would fit better visually, with black hardware... I will PM you a spec sheet/manual that explains the circuit in the bass. Very quirky but lots of unique sounds in it. You can remove the control knobs by popping off the 'lid' on each knob IIRC... My bass is a bit different, and Vigier changed things about a lot in the early days. Post some clips of you playing if you can, and I hpe you give it a good and permanent home! Cheers ped P.s found this pic recently, looks like your bass! (actually it's a series 3 but a similar colour!)
18. Great news on the sale - would be interested to hear your thoughts when you get your hands around her sweet and supple French neck ped

23.
Even putting all the suggested resources into a Wiki, doesn't provide what I am asking to be provided, which is a sub-forum, where new players can identify each other, interact and those wish to assist with questions, can do so in a mentoring capacity.
Are you asking me or telling me
24. I need to see the resources to weigh up having a forum with them pinned or a reference section or nothing at all, so if you could send them to me, or a list of them that would help us decide. Cheers ped
25. I recently asked a very 'beginner' question and got lots of answers. If I had posted that on a beginners forum, what would the difference be, do you think? Cheers ped
