1. They certainly are not 'Name' players but people who make a living from playing. Nobody you will recognise. Why, don't you believe me? I am not saying you are wrong - maybe all the ones you have met WERE lying. Hence my remark. Don't tarnish everyone with the same brush though eh? ped
2. 'In 17 years of playing Ive never met one happy pro EVER' ..That struck me as rather odd, that's all. I have met several! ped
3. Oh and I have NEVER played 'Mustang Sally' - to be honest I don't even know it!
4. WELL! Personally I do what I enjoy and if people want to buy the music I make for use on TV/DVDs then I certainly won't stop them. By no means enough to make a living, but I think there are lots of HAPPY players out there - perhaps you are hanging with the wrong people ARGH??? ped

Fret-King Esprit
Ped as for the toilet seat have you ever had the lid fall down midstream? Well for those blessed with a longer scale length it prevents nasty chips to the tip of the 'headstock'
Hahaha classic. Good stuff Steve!
6.
You like your Vigiers, and I'm glad to see it! There doesn't seem to be many of us about. I own a see through red 1983 or 84 Passion (full carbon graphite neck), serial number 213, which was my main bass for 15 years. The neck is just the best I've had my hands on. It was bought on a friends recommendation after my then #1, an ESP Jazz, was stolen. I absolutely love it and would never consider selling it. The only reason it ain't my #1 now is because the finish has pretty much peeled off and the bridge pickup has packed up. Was told by engineers on many an occasion that it was the best recording bass they'd heard. They really are a much underrated bass. I really have to spend some money on it and return it to former glories. So good on yer for having such good taste!
Thanks mate! I really love the look of your bass. The series 2 graphite necks are just perfect for me, too. I haven't tried anything that feels nicer, and I think they are the best graphite basses out there. Interesting to hear how engineers like the sound - my experience is the same. I guess the sound is individual whilst being absolutely even, crisp and clear. Now I have fitted a V-bass to my twig I can access a number of 'standard' sounds like a P and J plus millions of fantastic stereo synths etc. making it just streets ahead of the competition! I also have a fretless which I love but play a bit less than the fretted at the moment, but sometimes it is all I play for weeks. Very nice to have a pair! Cheers - and get some big pics of yours up. I know I am always asking, but I love em' Take it eazy ped
7. The rigsby I know of wouldn't be seen dead on Basschat, so it MUST be someone else! ped
8.
Rigsby's basschat royalty, y'all should show some respect
Different chap I think, Toasted.
9. Hi David, The truss rod adjustment in the old neck could probably be fixed by having a slot cut across the face of the adjustment 'nut' and using a flat headed screwdriver to turn it perhaps... IIRC the adjuster is quite wide and it would probably work pretty well. It has been a long time since I have had a bass with a truss rod! Nice looking bass, always fancied one. Hope you are keeping well and best of luck with the sale! ped
10.
The jumper wire would make sense, otherwise the switch isn't actually connecting anything together in one of the positions..
My thoughts exactly. Will report back tomorrow!! Thanks again... And Trev - we have all been there at one point, infuriating isn't it? ped
11. Wait a second! STOP PRESS! There WAS a jumper wire on the old switch! Didn't notice it at all, it is very small and tidy. I will stick that on and see if it sorts it out! Cheers ped
12. No jumper wire there, no - there wasn't on the one that was replaced either. There were only four wires going to the switch - I see what you mean about the switch contacting the left and right to the centre but don't know how that would work with four wires... Cheers ped
13. Hi folks, Just switched my active passive switch for a black one after intending to do so for many years. The passive option however isn't working (active is fine). I am pretty sure the wires are all as they were on the original switch. Here is a piccie - can anyone spot the problem? Cheers ped Bit of a mess in here I'm afraid!

Show us your rig!
That rig isn't pissing me off, in fact I have just felt a small release of baby gravy in my lounge pants.
Hahahaha!! Well said that man. Bit moist here, too.
15. Looks 'wrong' to me but it may sound good... I thought the axis body shape was a prototype only and wasn't going to be final. I will read the thread and catch up!

Show us your rig!

Yeah the H&H looks brilliant! Is it heavy?
17. Yeah I used to use those too, great aren't they! Only problem is I tend to remove my strap quite a lot and they became a bit of a pain in ze bottom. Cheers ped
18. I just got the Marvel straplocks - they are superb! Really nice and solid and the connection between the bass and the strap is really 'positive', and they allow much smoother circular motion than the schaller design, which could get a bit squeaky! Cheers ped

NEW Roland Vbass

And replied, son!
20. Hi Matt, Was going to be up there for a few weeks around now, not my brother is going to Sweden for a month or so soon but hasn't got a date yet. That is playing havoc with our studio planning, but HOPEFULLY we can squeeze a week or so in before xmas to get some new stuff recorded. It would be cool to see you so I will be sure to give you a shout when I know things for definite. Cheers ped
21. I have a Lee Ritenour album where he is holding a Synthaxe! Also features Abe Laboriel and Carlos Vega :0)
22. Yo chaps, I am doing a Vbass one apparently pretty soon. Had a quick question - some Youtube videos I have seen have had a special 'High Quality' option. How does one go about enabling that, is it a simple matter of an option when uploading? Do you think it's worth it or does the original vid I posed sound OK? Cheers ped
23. Tasty
24. A NEBB sounds great - too far for me to go but I hope you all have a cool TYNE! Eh? EH? No? ped
