1. Beautiful. A PROPER bass rig!!
2.
I dont know about M Kemp, but John Taylor can def play!! I saw a very old YouTube clip of him on Bernard Edwards old Stingray which he owns...He is a very good bass player.
John's bass tech cut the old strings which Bernard loved from the bass and fitted new ones without John's permission. He went mental!
3. Hi mate, that sounds about right. I have fired off some enquiries so hopefully some will prove fruitful. It's just the fact that the vbass is slightly wider that throws things! ped
4. Hi dudez I am very solid on my setup now to the point where I would quite like to tidy it away in a single box. The units are a Line6 Bass Pod XT pro (2u rackmount, quite shallow) and a Roland Vbass (2cm wider than the ears on a rack unit). Both are seldom adjusted during normal play (the Vbass can be adjusted from the bass itself) so I wondered: I would ideally like to have a basic rack box made with the extra width needed to house the Vbass pedalboard sitting above the pod. The ends of the rack would need to be removable for cabling etc and I toyed also with the idea of the vbass being mounted on a sliding shelf or maybe even the box having a hinged lid so I could access it if needed. I think I could have a crack at this myself but it could all go horribly wrong. I wondered if anyone knew of anything I could modify, or an alternative solution to my idea? Cheers ped P.s here are the units: http://www.roland.com/PRODUCTS/EN/V-Bass/specs.html And the pod XT pro is just a 2u so nothing unusual.
5. I bloody love that Lavender SR5 and the Albert Lee is a cool shape, too.
6. Yeah exactly Mike, just stick a bass away somewhere and come back to it when you feel like it. No point forcing the fun as it were. Sometimes I don't play for several days and immerse myself in other things, but I think it is beneficial to have a break now and then. Enjoy the archery - it looks brilliant and something I would love to try so I have an excuse to buy a mean looking bow! Cheers ped
7. Not sure myself - nice idea on paper and I like something different but I think they look like, as simwells said, toys... The bridge cover reminds me of those Russian knock off basses, too. Still, 1000x more interesting than a Fender clone, so fair play I say! ped
8. I just call em' me vigz
9. Hi Mike, sorry to hear about the band thing - will you keep your hand in with the bass playing anyway? Cheers ped
10. A chap on here from germany has a TecAmp 'Pleasure Board' which is a dedicated rumbling platform. His name is 'Area' so if he doesn't chime in try a PM. I use IEMs too so quite interested in one of these type systems.
11. Funny you should mention this. I was talking to my brother the other day about it and we are going to learn the whole album and play along. One of the best! ped
12. Nah I realised I only had one left ;0)

Yeah he's alright. Came round mob handed with his new skinhead haircut and I got up to lock the door! Lol No not really, Steve was a pleasure to do business with!! ped
14. That is a Vigier Excalibur Ultra Blues, quite a majestic machine. It belongs to my guitar player who had to buy one after being so impressed with the feel of the neck. I am no guitar player but the neck is so comfy, it almost plays itself. The action is shipped is apparently the lowest of any company or something like that (I only read guitar stories quickly!) Hope that clears it up! ped
15. Cool! I see you have put the SR5 neck on the OLP - how does it compare with the 'actual' ray when it had the wooden neck? I always felt the OLP/Status was better than a stock SR5... ped
16. And is the neck straight? I remember it having a slight bit of relief (the 'textbook' amount)when it was on the OLP which I don't like much but interested to hear how it is on the MM...
17. How does it sound, Kev? here I am messing something up on the same neck
18. Also just to add those cracks are just cracks in the finish... Doctor_of_the_bass will know about those - I think the very early models like this had a sort of brittle shell as a finish? ped
19. I have some pics of this bass: This bass was part of the early 80s range alongside the normal pre-amp Passion and the Arpege standard and Nautilus models. I have only seen one other and that only came with one 'module'. I would like to try it!
20. Sounds like I had better check this out ASAP
