Great! That means I can play it!

I can picture you cruising home in the 5 series mulling this one over. Good luck in your continuing search for THE ONE(S)

Hello! Great to see you today!
-
Is this in any way related to your visit to Bass Direct @ the NEC today, Joe ;0)

Apart from the rust it was indestructible! Same as the Citroen, but the heater matrix went on that one. A shame, to be sure! On a better note I got a really nice Vectra 1.8 16v the other day, more info and a dedicated thread on its way!!

Hehe yes I have set the permissions properly now. I was too excited for that boring stuff at the beginning. It looks like it might be worth setting this up tomorrow and see how it goes.

Hehe. They have a really good sense of humour which endears me towards them even more.
Very impressed wit 'Everything Must Go' too - walking along the beach with the title track playing in my big headphones with the snow falling was a glorious memory of less hectic times. Later that evening I pushed my TV off the table thing and broke it proper. -
Hell yeah it was a TURBO diesel, a whole 1.9 litres of power. Actually it was pretty rapid. Fell apart later that term because of rust. Those shoes did too, both soles came off simultaneously in the middle of the town with no warning whatsoever.

Crikey! What a package! I have sent this to my guitar player.

My fave Steely Dan album is actually The Royal Scam.
Here is a excerpt from the Two Against Nature DVD where Tom is talking about his bass: http://www.frozencloudmusic.com/~chrishisc...Bass%20Talk.mp3 -
Great DVD - also worth buying is their Two Against Nature DVD - absolutely fantastic production!

If its French, it must be good

Yeah I had a look at that.
On another note, the Clover Avenger bass - how stupid do they think we are? It has 5 or 6 knobs and they think it is confusing? I mean - come on. How difficult is it to remember what they do? I read that sort of thing all the time and it annoys me! -
Prob my fave Ritter bass. You might like my old Volvo's rear window sticker, too:

I love this thread. I don't know who moved it - I wasn't aware it had moved either, since I usually use the 'view new posts' page! Where was it originally?

Managed to embed the video. Cool.

Yes I meant to say non-radiused body rather than contouring on the actual body. My Bacchus Jazz had a flat top and I could notice it every now and then.
The Reverend basses have lots of fans over on Talkbass. Apparently they have quite a distinctive and individual sound.

Magnets will lose their strength over time - of course this means fender cash in with 'vintage' pickups with weak magnets and so on.

I really liked my FX25. Tayste is right about it beinga one or two trick piny, but that suited me. Now I use the env. filter on my pod which sounds very similar. I play my bass with a little spare headroom on the volume control and it acts as a sensitivity control when the filter is on.
The thing I really don't like with some filters I have tried (especially EHX) is the 'whistling' you get over the low notes - rather than a squelch like on the fx25 it drops all the bass and whistles uncontrolably as the filter is slammed wide open. Nasty, and kills your ears live. -
I played a reverend guitar in the 'bug eye' chrome finish that was very cool. Not sure about the basses though, the slab body puts me off a bit.

Hehe. So who is who?

It reminds me of these choccies:
And just as tasty ;0)
Roll on Sunday! -
Thanks chaps. I suppose when I listen the sound is very unique, due in part to the construction and electronics in these instruments. Only when I have a Jazz bass or something out and then go back to the Vigiers do i realise it. As the three vigs are all I own at the moment, they sound very familiar to me. Of course there is no substitute for knowing your own sound inside out, so that you know how it works in different situations and can really trust your instrument.
Cheers
