I've spent the last few days getting into the weeds with IR models. I have always taken the DI from my combo but I bought a NUX Pulse pedal out of curiosity, partly so I could use my pedalboard as a headphone rig. I think 99% of the IRs I tried sounded nasal, thin and generally terrible, the best being Shift Line's Sunn model and the Behringer V-Amp model of an SWR or some sort. Even those had nothing on the Roland 'Super Clean' I usually use. It turns out that the DI on my amp (Blackstar U500) has an emulated output setting, which I have always been using without knowing. It gives cab sim and post EQ/voicing sound. Through my headphones the sim sounds spot on, far better than any IRs I tried on the NUX. So I will return the pedal and keep everything as it was. I don't suppose the quality of the IR PEDAL matter when it comes to using IRs? Like would those same IRs sound better with a different 'loader'? Surely not - but you might get more control, better quality 'effects' such as 'space' or 'reverb' - better menu, less noise etc? I must say in every respect the NUX worked really well, very quiet, USB-C, Tiny, easily powered. The headphone output ran out of steam beyond moderate levels but still, for £50 pretty good. Hi guys Has anyone here had a custom case made for your pedalboard? In have had a good quote from NSP cases. I measured the width, height and depth of my board and got an estimate which I’m happy with. However, I guess it’s better to add some extra to each internal measurement so that I can add some foam (probably neoprene high density stuff?) to protect the board a bit, maybe some wavy foam in the lid? I’d like to see some examples if anyone here has had one made or done it yourself. Im thinking a box with the whole lid that lifts off so the board can remain in the base if needs be. I did find a case on Amazon which was the perfect size but it’s very flimsy. A Maplins one. With the board inside the case bends around the handle so I might as well get a roadworthy one. Cheers ped

You can still admit that you’re wrong about what I quoted, its fine.

It’s not a point of view. You said: “The reason Fender have given this person their attention is because she is an a beautiful young woman, not because she is an exceptional or successful musician” Is that an opinion, now?

Agreed. This thread is nuts.

Use it for work quite a bit. We just had an email offering Affinity Photo/Publisher/Designer free of charge if you log in with your not-for-profit Canva account. Pretty good deal.

The Spectracomp can do three band and a lot more if you plug it in via USB. It’s absolutely one of the most powerful compressors you can buy if you dig into the editor.

Ever get that "Didn't realise how lucky I was" moment.....?

I’d better put some money in the meter, sheesh -
You must have tried nearly every fuzz out there. Are you on a quest for the ultimate fuzz or are you trying them all out for the fun of it (which I totally understand!)

You’re already drilling holes in vintage Fenders, better ease off on the meds if anything 😂

Well he'd be right about that, of course! Just watched it, maybe I missed it but I didn't hear in this video? He does mention buying the Ken Smith from me in a different one.

What does he say about me this time

Yeah if well designed. Depends on what that means. For example the Mutron was quite lossy. It’s not a buffered vs true bypass argument.

I like how my 66 Mustang looks under stage lights. It’s become a really deep red. Shame I look like I’m barely conscious but still

That's a beaut. Tell us more.

Hi Graham, I use Moises a lot. It’s really easy to remove different instruments from a track then export the result for use as a backing track. I assume you want to do the same, I.e create backing tracks from existing recorded material? Happy to help or do a bunch of tracks for you. Cheers ped

Could maybe fit a Twirl in there? Due to shrinkflation they’re approximately the size of a J pickup

Thanks for the advice 👍🏼

Yeah, she's forcing me to investigate Impulse Response loaders at the moment. She even makes payments on my account and the gear arrives without me knowing, honest! 🤫

Even just morally, I think by approving an advert we would be putting ourselves in a tricky position. far better to put the onus on the seller to prove they are genuine and for the buyer to check. Thankfully BC is a nice group where these cases are few and far between, and easily spotted by the members.
-
That's a minefield, because we don't have the capacity to do due diligence that should be the buyer's responsibility. If we allowed an ad that turned out to be a scam, would that be our fault?
-
Again, it’s about making it harder. Would a scammer bother removing a watermark when they could just use a different picture? Probably not.

Thanks Dave, n that tune I’m palm muting a bit in the verses, and when I do that I tend to form a kind of claw and play mainly using my index finger. Gives a nice rounded tone with some snap if you push harder and lift your palm a bit.
