  1. I'd definitely get one of these if I was making a board. Also hate velcro and it wouldn't work anyway on two of my favourite pedals (Danelectro Cool Cat and Mutron) - Cool Cat has rubber underneath and weighs loads, and the Mutron has tall rubber feet that I don't want to remove and also weighs a ton.

    NPD T-Rex Bass Juice

The tone feels more like a cut control hence higher setting at the moment

Yeah! I’m still playing with the settings. Interesting to compare high gain with low mix versus low gain with higher mix
  4. Nice pedal. Really great feeling switches that click easily with hardly any travel. The pedal is more muff flavoured when pushed but does a very warm distortion at lower gain. The second foot switch massively boosts the gain (but volume stays same) giving really sludgy distortion (my phone just autocorrected that to ‘biscotti on’) Will have to try it out with the proper rig soon. Compared to my EWS Stormy Bass Drive it’s less ‘modern’ and ‘raspy’ sounding so I’m looking forward to trying it ‘loud’
  5. No idea!! Can't find it anywhere, it's like it was a dream!
  6. Why do you slacken the strings for flying? I know lots of people do it but it’s not good imo unless you’re loosening the truss rod too. Better to keep it in tune and in balance (sorry to nitpick!)
  7. Love the irony of that being posted a couple of years after the thread was started 🤣
  8. That looks nice. I did buy a white one but it turned out not to fit, despite assurances that it was for a pre-eb bass. I really like the black on white though so will likely leave it as it is. Looks awesome with the blue one though!
  9. I carried my first bass home in a carrier bag
  10. A split P pickup cancels magnetic hum but they are still susceptible to electrostatic and RF interference which will vary depending on local factors. Remember you're shielding the whole electronics not just the pickup. The wires, pots etc are all susceptible to 'hum'. My G&L SB1 was REALLY noisy before it was shielded, now it makes no noise even in front of the computer/lamp/penis enlarger
  11. Shielding. Lots of shielding.
  12. I think I actually heard Ian Allison (from the SBL podcast) say that the other day, so all credit to him. I love that guy, such a friendly and chatty bloke and really funny. The podcast is great, especially when Ian tries to copy Scott's accent!
  13. I feel like this could be what tips the balance against Putin. Nobody messes with middle aged musicians. Let’s close the skies 🤘
  14. I’ve never tried an HH model but the demos I’ve heard make me think I wouldn’t use any of the ‘extra’ sounds… maybe I need to try one.
  15. Elixir 40-95s are the only rounds I use. They last literally two years or more and feel amazing. I also play in D and the tension suits me perfectly; I like a bit of clank and that plasticy juicy midrange from a low action on a ray. Flats I use on my P are Labella 760fx, I did try them on the ray and they sounded great but I missed the juice. My Ray is my ‘go to’ as it sits perfectly between my J which I might lean towards for more slappy or nuanced finger style and the P which is your usual dependable tugboat and a great leveller.
  16. Sorry to hear that. Was it insured? I read about a similar event recently, a container ship with tons of nice cars went under. A bloke I know had a brand new Porsche on it 😑
  17. Go air. The less time it’s in transit the better, and I think it’ll go through less ‘transitions’ via air. Make sure it’s properly insured and packed for sure, everything tightly packed in with foam. Leave strings tuned to pitch. Cargo planes and passenger planes are heated inside both passenger and cargo areas otherwise stuff would get damaged.
  18. Hi mate sorry you’ll have to post it again because otherwise the system won’t recognise it. You can copy and paste the text over at least! Contact a mod if you need any help or if the old post has gone already so they can send you the text if you need it. Cheers 🥂
  19. I'd really like a black Excess with maple board, but the early model with the pickguard (also black)
  20. Series III are 10/90. I've had a few and felt they were excellent but the baked in relief was a TINY bit too much for my tastes, being so used to a dead flat S2 at the time. Probably wouldn't mind now.
