Ah ok. The GR1000 I suppose is a bit too similar in a less useful form factor for me.

You’ve lost me I’m afraid 😆

It does! I’ll feel bad stepping on it now! The VB99 does more than I need with the GK cable. I only have the 13 pin output built into my Vigier and mostly use the VB99 as a clean preamp/interface The Bright Onion switches in a loop where I can place a pedal from my shelf, or switch it out so I can leave it disconnected.

Some updates to the Pedal Shelf (tm) And my WorkStation (tm) with space for patching in pedals when I fancy

I have routed both the cable from the bass and a female extension to my wireless sender or jack to amp along a piece of tubing which is held loosely by a removable zip tie (this is a Aldi dog zip tie but I also used a velcro one!). Since it has a little bit of give it never pulls the jacks out, and movement is mimited by the width of the locking female extension which can't go past the zip tie. The only time I've had the jack(s) come out of the pack is when I tied it tight to the tail of the strap.

There are no series 2 five strings (full graphite neck)

I had a five string fretless Arpege but they never did delta metal fingerboards on the fives.
-
The older ones tend to be lined

Nice, didn't expect it to be a Delta Metal fretless too! Lovely thing.

I’ve never really found a chorus pedal I like that much - I used a CEB3 for a while and have tried a few since then but always found them a bit thin or too much like a bad flanger at times. That said I really like the sound of bass chorus on records especially when the bassline is funky and syncopated. There’s something cool about how it works in that context. I just got a Danelectro Cool Cat pedal, one of the 18v ones, all metal, massive. I have fond memories of these as we used to use a Fab Tone and Back Talk (now very expensive!) in my uni band. I had read good things but wasn’t really holding out much hope - maybe chorus just isn’t for me! But this thing sounds sweet. No loss of bass at all and a slight volume boost, with a rate and depth control which seem to interact in a really pleasing way. Fast and shallow or slow and deep - both sound rich and syrupy. Plus the pedal looks, weighs, feels and is physically the size of a 50s fridge. What’s not to like?

That’s literally ‘the bass of a lifetime’ - many happy more years with it mate 👍🏼

One will be along shortly!!

Yeah overwinding will pronounce the midrange to an extent. Some of my favourite basses have massively underwound pickups mated to a great pre to produce a good signal, leaving a very clear and broad range. I’m sure there’s more to it but that’s my experience.

And be careful when you pull the knobs as I’ve had several where the knob comes off completely 😂 still amazing though and typically French

Here you go! Great bass, looks like it’s in nice condition. Please share more pictures Vigier Arpege Brochure 1983.pdf

Pic file size always too big??

Hi Craig, the problem is that you're near the top end of your total attachment quota - if you delete some old attachments that'll clear some space. You can do that here https://www.basschat.co.uk/attachments/ Chers ped -
If you’re wondering if someone would be stupid enough to sell an M82 and buy another because it’s more sparkly, then wonder no more. I did. The sparkly one looks way better! Why did they change it, were the MXR people sick of going home covered in glitter? I’ve spent a bit more time with the pedal and think I’m pretty happy. I still think it sounds best with the Q quite low but it’s got that rubbery quack that I like. I’m likely to use it more than the DOD for fear of damaging it so will try it live asap and see how it cuts through - but I always think band pass filters do that really well.

The search didn't work because you would have had to search for 'sessions.com' which finds it right away. 'Sessions' finds this one but not the other as it's not used without the '.com' prefix in the thread. I think the search works well now, but it still bugs me that default results order is by 'relevance' rather than 'date'

I haven't used an amp at home for as long as I can remember. Playing through headphones is amazing if it's a decent setup. Now you want to try a Backbeat between your bass and your Waza transmitter -
