OK, you can all give up the bass and go home now

Love the video of the kids. All these videos though make me think am I the only person in the world who plays bass without making a 'face'? Some of the adults look like they're climaxing every time they play above the 12th. Maybe I just don't enjoy it enough! -
Apparently they've had a real challenge getting to the UK market, as most stockists feel they have enough strings already. @MoJoKe @Kiwi maybe we can sell them through Basschat
-
That’s one of the coolest looking things I’ve ever seen 😊

Great to have you here, thanks for popping in! What’s your favourite track on SCUMFUCK 😆 Love your playing and laid back groove. As I say normally albums/bands with ‘Funk’ in the name are anything but and tend to be fast up tempo ‘funk’ that I can’t bear.. I’ll have a listen to some of your other stuff… which tracks are you most happy with?
-
Technically yes, but I've never felt like I need any clean blend with my FX25 which is very tight and full sounding, but you do have to 'play' it in a certain way. Maybe it has wider band or the way the sweep works just happens to fill out the bass bit once dialled in it's a fat and squelchy as you could want, whereas some of the sparkle green ones I've had are all top or bottom and quite hard to use. The WOnderlove absolutely needs clean blend which works well as the wobbly filter sort of wraps around the affected sound so well, but I wasn't feeling that so much on the MXR - however I only had a quick play yesterday so I'll give it some time over the next few days, as it definitely has the right 'flavour' that I like.

Probably better store it at my place

Maybe we should sell shares in the bass

Just tried an MXR M82 I do generally prefer the sound of Band pass filters. To me they have a more 'farty' bottom end when you dig in, rather than a whistle as the envelope opens. The MXR has a similar feel at the bottom to my fave pedal, but without as much growl. The top end is a bit less controllable and it can produce some spikes where my old FX25 will 'top out' at a pleasing frequency which isn't harsh or thin (even some of the next gen FX25s can sound a bit harsh) I'll spend some more time with it, but I'm not feeling it so much at this. Maybe it's a bit clinical, I'm not sure. It kind of makes my different basses sound the same, unless you blend in some dry signal. Leave it with me and I'll be back with more useless thoughts

Boss Waza Air now available for bass. Personal Amp System.

Yep they connect like any other bluetooth headphones so you can play music from any source. There are three lights n the back, one to show if the transmitter is connected (happens instantly when you plug it into the bass, with no 'pop' noise or anything, same when you remove), one for battery charge and the other for bluetooth. Using the app you connect the bluetooth audio as you would normally, then the transmitter connects as a sperate device through the app, but you only need to use the app if you want to change your saved preset which is saved to the headphones, and you can scroll through saved presets using the buttons on the headphones. -

I will sell you my NUX if you like, PM me if you haven't pulled the trigger already? -
I seem to remember that changing the strings did enough to remedy the choking. Perhaps I loosened the truss rod a little bit can’t remember now. It wasn’t terrible but definitely another reason I couldn’t go as low as I liked without some adjustments.

The case is quite nice but the foam is cut to hold the headphones in a particular way, I.e with one cup at the end of its travel and the other on minimum. I had to cut the foam to let it accommodate them with both sides even. Also they go in the case with the right cup on the left which takes some getting used to. The zips on the case are noisy so I’ve taken them off to replace with rope toggles (made my own but have ordered some proper ones). I’m sure a cheapo non fitted case could be used just as effectively as the headphones fold flat very nicely. -

I’ll see if I can find out if the hardware is different to the guitar version. I assume so, but will report back! -
He wanted a quick rig rundown before he gave the OK. If you told him you played a Rik he'd have put you in an induced coma forever

I have one of those too, and I did a review here somewhere. You're right, it's pretty cool. And ideal for a practice tool. The limitations for me were the noise, the lack of a limiter and the wire. Neat little thing though for the price, and streets ahead of the previous plugs I tried from Vox. The Rolands are well worth it though if you play along with music a lot at home and want a super hifi experience. When I say the NUX is noisy, it's actually pretty quiet and a great little thing for the price, but there's a definite noise behind your notes when playing (almost like it's noise around the transmitted signal) which is offputting if you intend to use it in the way I had envisioned (i.e as a 'go to' headphone setup) but excellent as a travel accessory/fun 'now and then' type device, and largely not noticeable when playing with music. It was frustratingly close to being amazing for my needs. Weirdly the reduction of wires to a single one from plug to headphones somehow made that single wire more annoying. But yes, for the price, it's awesome. -

The transmitter can be any WL20 which you pair by inserting it into the 'phones. Not sure about replacing the battery in the headphones themselves, but assume they have a pretty decent service life. I'll ask if it's replaceable down the line. -

I see you have a nice FEA compressor - the Roland Limiter 'effect' which is on my VB99 and these headphones is amazing, and has seen off my FEA and Cali big box. -

Yes they can, and they're excellent - very comfortable and easy to listen to. Relatively flat although slightly more pronounced lower midrange as you might expect, perhaps some slight attenuation at the very top end - but that results in a very non-fatiguing listen and when using your bass you have access to a whole range of EQs to get the exact sound you're looking for. I have recently switched from Spotify to Apple Music and some of the albums I have in my library are mastered differently which has made comparisons a bit more tricky but I'm hearing every detail - 50mm drivers designed specifically. They also go extremely loud, even with your own instrument if you want them to - without distortion. As I mentioned I have set up my Stingray so far with a near identical sound to my existing setup and I can wander around the house with complete freedom from wires or ridicule (but only because I can't hear it!) -

Yeah only messing. Tbh one of the reasons I don’t do reviews in return for free stuff (get offers quite often) is that it’s really hard and I like to be honest. Otherwise you end up like the magazines that give everything 5 starts to keep the advertisers happy!

Wasn’t mine proper enough? 😂
