    Dark theme (testing)

The only thing I can’t seem to find is the default bright white background in the compact search bar on desktop mode. I’ll find it eventually. And I’ll kill it.

I always knew where it was, but needed help accessing it 😆

    Just finished it!!
  4. That looks really cool. Where did you find it or was it ordered direct?

Do you prefer the notification bubble in red, to match your system, or do you like it orange to match BC?

Afraid not - I’ve thought the same! In desktop I hold CTRL+click and open them in tabs

@FinnDave I've removed the formatting on the Ashdown ad so it looks fine now. I can do the rest for you if you like, or if you have time just click 'edit' (three blobs, top right of post) and highlight the text and hit the button below....

They're the same, but this one has two colours - guessing the top line of text (grey) was added in on BC and the rest written in Pages? https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/451130-sandberg-panther-special-price-dropped-to-£1350/

@FinnDave Did you do anything different with the text in your Ashdown advert (above) - for example paste it from elsewhere or change the colour to black? Cheers

    Dark theme (testing)

Yes I noticed that too, thanks - I think it's because either the text is pasted from elsewhere and kept it's formatting or it was entered in a non standard colour on the light theme, if you see what I mean? Not sure I can do anything about that
  11. Cheers I'll have a look at that this week, it takes so long to identify what the names of those elements are called!!
  12. Search should be fixed now, let me know if you have a problem (please be specific so I can report it)

Glad you like it! Here's a thing - I made one item bright green, so I could identify what it did on the site. Still haven't found it....
  14. Hi folks I've been working on a dark theme today. I've done my best but know I'll have missed something, so feel free to try it out and let me know. Screenshots are helpful if you spot a colour conflict or item which is invisible because it's the same colour as the background. Building a theme is basically trial and error as all the various parts of the site are called completely random things and there's no logical order, so please be patient as I muck about. Dark themes work best on good monitors which are able to distinguish between the tones, so for many of you the best screen might be your mobile. SO try it on that, too. Please add any thoughts here and I'll try to take them all into account, although please bear in mind that not everything is possible to adjust, and I can't please everyone! Cheers ped To switch: Select 'Basschat 2.0 (Dark)' at the bottom of the page

I like it! Although for a moment I did think I'd accidentally logged into the Les Paul forum...

I love it - looks very slick

The new thumbnail views are super cool too

  16. Don’t think so - I’ll have a look. Maybe you’re running low on space?
  17. Hi @vincbt can you submit that search again and let me know what happens? Cheers
  18. Yes it does seem a little strange with some things - I’ve asked server guy to see if some buttons need pressing 👍🏼
  19. Hi folks The 'Supporting Member' status is a function of the marketplace, which we can't avoid. Basically, ages ago we wrote our own code to allow the marketplatz to work, because Invision (who make the software) didn't have an out of the box solution. This took a long time, required a LOT of manual maintenance and constant monitoring, but it worked. Since ten, advancements have been made to the 'in house' system, which we are now able to slowly adopt (in parts) to take that strain out of the system. We can't use it fully yet as it doesn't allow some things like 'location' and so on but it does maintain and tidy up the database and renewals for us. To do that, users have to be moved into a different group. On top of that, the intention is to remove adverts one day if we can get more people to subscribe, and already it seems to be having a positive effect. The 'Rank' are a new system, designed to be a bit of fun. It seems like it kind of replaces, or enhances, the 'reaction' system with our 'watts' reputation system. We turned it on to give it a try and plan at some point to design better badges, but really, it's not to be taken seriously (like anything on BC?). The designs are the stock ones and we had a play with some different types, but haven't got round to doing anything with that yet whilst we sort other things. The 'Badges' are intertwined with the above, and to be honest I don't think they make a lot of sense, plus the badges are a bit ugly. Again, I wrote some random 'rules' yesterday that case a badge to be issued, and plan on either changing them or removing them, it does't really matter - I think they're aimed more at new users to encourage them to participate and make their first post, etc. Which at the end of the day is better for all of us. You're free to ignore them if you don't like them Cheers ped
  20. Make sure you have the correct theme turned on
  21. You’ve searched ‘everything’ not just ‘topics’ so it’s showing status updates too
  22. Hi mike Instead if the BBcode (the one with ‘img’ either end) just paste in the direct link and the pic will appear
