  1. Slightly OT but I've also just asked Elixir what the deal is with their supply problem
  2. @MoJoKe said Promenade Music are able to get them in - might be worth asking?
  3. How are your strings holding up @DylanB and @NancyJohnson et al? I’m tempted to try them as like most people I can’t find elixirs anywhere.
  4. They're great - nice pics, too.

  6. Hi folks I'm experimenting with a new feature which shows no ads to people in the Supporting Member group. Regular members will see no change, and guests/not logged in will see more. Cheers ped

    Weight

That’s why you compiled a list of every bass you’ve ever owned - perfect for forcing on people at parties: ”wow, that’s crazy! You want to hear something else weird? See that Yamaha BB over there?….”

    Weight

I’m noticing weight more than I used to. I had a disk replaced in my neck a while back and have a dodgy lower back (thanks Mesa Boogie) so I think I’m more sensitive to how a bass hangs or sits than the weight as such. SB1 is 8.8lb and feels very comfortable; the playing position and way it wraps around me. The Celinder is a tad heavier but it feels so slick and has a thinner body so it melts away. The Stingray is a slab, a bit heavier again (but very light by pre EB slab body samtandards), and the playing position feels great - it wouldn’t be as comfortable if the pickup/thumb rest was further forward for example. The Vigier is very light and ergonomically perfect; that or I’ve moulded around it over the years!!
  9. Didnt think of that - I’ll dig them out of the freezer
  10. This is very true. I originally tried mounting severed heads from previous server admin/moderator staff onto my bass but couldn’t get them to stay in place
  11. Hm try another adapter. Mine came with one and it was really flimsy, kind of made the plug itself hang a bit loose. I couldn't get the light to go green. Replaced that with a decent one which really 'snaps' onto the US plug and all fine.
  12. Doesn't sound right... make sure the charger is working, because I found mine didn't like some US/UK adapters. The light should go green when charging and go out when full. Full charge I think should be around 3.5hrs of rumbling and it should definitely rumble the aux in. I wonder if you got a dodgy one?

    Preamp

    I’m a noise Nazi
  14. I’ll have a look for you. I reckon someone was banned and their IP was blacklisted, and that IP covers a range of mobile profiles.

I had one of those and it was really noisy. I think I sent it back.

    NPD - filter fun

Yes that's the one. I think that's probably where I first saw it, too. After buying one cheap and selling it in favour of the 'better' flat green model, I bought a sparkly one again, then sold it for a super early one, then sold that one... I just didn't think the earlier ones had the same 'wetness' to them. I dearly love my 3Leaf Wonderlove because of the way it 'wobbles', my Funk-U-Lator because of the synth octave part which goes into the filter and I quite enjoy a Bassballs, too - but the FX25 has that 'growl' on the bass notes which nothing else seems to be able to replicate. I experienced volume drop with some of the ones I've had but this one seems fine - I run it into a limiter to tame the big bass spike as the filter closes but if anything I'm pretty sure it's overall louder then the clean signal. I'll try and do a video now that I've sort of worked out how to do a decent one!

    NPD - filter fun

I have had so many versions of the FX25 - most people say the avocado green version is the best but I've always preferred these ones. I just bought this one from @E sharp and it's in brand new condition and sounds fantastic. Regardless of all the boutique filters I have tried and still have, the squelch and unique rubbery feel of the FX25 really is in a class all of it's own! It's good to have one back in the stable after extensively gigging my old one back in my Uni days!
  18. I’m firing up the database editor with renewed enthusiasm 😆
  19. I don’t think we can do anything about it I’m afraid 😱
  20. We’d all end up in court getting spanked
  21. I didn’t get a message? The ‘you don’t have permission’ page simply means that the post/thread has been hidden or something rather than deleted; it’s not personal. I’m currently winding down my admin duties so Kiwi is dealing with things. Cheers

  24. I'm not sure I can adjust the flood control, it may be at the server end, but you're right about the 'and/or' is I've just changed the default behaviour
  25. Just saw this one https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/annonce-1918761
