1. I was in SC Brum at Easter. f***ing terrible selection of basses, had a small number of fenders (no '08 models), a couple of Laklands, and a spector or two. No warwicks, yams, EBMM etc. Due to how emtpy it was, either they're closing or awaiting more stock. Fairdeal were much better, sadly couldn't make it to PMT on foot as I had a train to catch.
2.
Two minutes actually. As burpster says this bass is built in Mexico. However, don't let that put you off. The classic series basses are getting great reviews and are superb value for the money. If it is USA that you want then you're not far off the price of a good used Highway 1.
Hell, for about £100-150 more they can get a '07 American standard (the p and jazzes with the S1 switch).
3. LIES! I came back from Primark (in Pompey) about half an hour ago, I couldn't find it and I had a good shuffle around the blokes t-shirt section.
4. £450 for that? Coor, that's a bit good isn't it.
5. What? Primark you say? /will nip down there tomorrow then.
6. I recognize ZERO in the playlist. Woo for a tiny knowledge of music!
7. Oooh, that's different, having no external knobs. And it's shiny ooooooooh. Hmm, what happens if you need a little tweak when you're on stage though due to the environment? And I take it (without looking at the pedal circuit/specs) the switches at the top are fuzz modes (change between silicon and germanium diodes) ? and something else?
8. The VMJ just requires a wipe down, the board is the same finish as the back of the neck, satin poly. Water and a cloth is fine. /has a vmj
9. Cropped up here in Jan: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...lectro&st=0 However, I'd forgotton about it, and seeing as I'll be going on a GAS based spree in 9 weeks (pecise you say? End of uni year I say), thanks for bringing them back to my mind.
10. Colours are (all available in maple and rosewood): Blizzard Pearl 3-Color Sunburst Olympic White Black Candy Cola Rosewood Charcoal Frost Metallic Charcoal Frost Metallic sounds nice, and looks alright as well but would need to see high res or in the flesh. Candy Cola is a nice red as well, fenders always look nice in red with maple boards. Olympic white with torty also looks swish, although the vintage white they did (the creamy off white one, might have had another name) would look better.
11. Probably a good idea to limit what types can be uploaded, BMP's are mahoosive (1024x768 is around 4/5 meg), while JPEGS are normally fairly small, and PNG's are superior in all counts at being good while having an even smaller filesize.
12.
Not sure which one is better, having a mind that disturbs or a mind that's disturbed?
The answer to the riddle: A mind that disturbs is a disturbed mind
13. Gibbo's are renowned for that though arn't they?
14.
I'd say four string fretted or maybe five string fretted. you'll know about it if you feel the need for fretless or 7 strings or whatever. in my opinion, start basic, expand from there. I've noticed this has recently come out if you're looking for a starter bass - i think it was bass guitar magazine that gave it five stars for value. EDIT: hmmm... that link just takes you back to the ibanez home page. if you find the SR300, that was the bass i was talking about. i cant get a link to it.
http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eb_page20...mp;series_id=33 And they look pretty, reminds me of the old Ergodynes.
15. Go for it. I like the songs on the myspace, quite a bit actually.
16. Well, it's been a month, any progress Toasty?
17. Yeah, I'd be happy to get a UK one at a decent price, even if it's been made 3 years ago, it'll probably (if a shop boxed one) have been turned on once or twice, and be unused.
18. Sure you're not intested in valvey goodness, just a little bit of warmth and grit
19. White. On. White guards are so understated.
20.
Pack mentality is just as ridiculous. The arts of power and its minions are the same in all countries and in all ages. It marks its victim; denounces it; and excites the public odium and the public hatred, to conceal its own abuses and encroachments. (Henry Clay: 1843, 1777-1852)
I want your babies.
21. Nah, NeilB looks more like Phil Collins methinks
22.
I quite liked their first album. And the guy has one of the coolest guitars ever ignored by the general public. I can't off-hand think of any musician that provokes that strong a negative reaction in me.
How about a pair? Daphne and Celeste? A very fond memory of chortling about hearing they'd been bottled off stage at glasto I think.
23.
Its probably haunted mate. Blimey, someone tell Gail Porter.
Tell Yvette Fielding, much more fun will be had.
24. If it wasn't for the fact I've got no amp, and no transport in Pompey (at uni halls, so no space either), I'd consider having this off you. Have a bump anyway.
25. Oooooh, nice going PSN, have fun. Remember to sample the local beer when you're there.
