1. So? It's Tuesday.
2. I concur, the reverse ones look nice, non-reverse don't do it for me. I keep thinking it's a lefty version assembled in the dark.
3. I can hear a difference, and I'd agree with what dood said and say the 2nd is the active, seems a bit deeper in the bass. It doesn't help however that they're two different songs and therefore will probably have different levels in the mix. A fair test would use the same song as the control.
4. I concur with the comments on the 12 string, either youtube is robbing it (probably half the reason) otherwise it just sounds like mush to me. I'll put it down to the distortion, as it sounds alright clean.
5.
Steady on!
Spot the smiley, besides, I'm off to try some ashdown gear Sooon(tm), I might go tomorrow.
6. Is that even repairable*? *I mean do-able, not cost effective
7.
Are we racist?
No, but he does look like a monkey when he's prancing around onstage. He's a really good player, I can't fault that, but he looks so....unprofessional next to the rest of the line up at times when he's attempting to limbo his own bass.
8.
it isnt really a robot guitar in the way that this is a robot sax http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7VJMGy3P4w it just tunes itself. woo
This is a much more impressive demonstration of the robot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxNKF8Xlp9o
9.
Everyone I know refers to this man as "the monkey", because of his facial expressions. I don't know many people though :-(
You're not the only one, my friends and I do the same.
10. I vote no. They're still electric bass's, and although I've never played one and suspect I'd be lost on one, I rather like reading about them on a few topics that crop up.
11. Beaten to it by a day or so: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8599 Even so, it's more stuff to go wrong mid gig. It's also a cool 1300-1400ish, so not exactly in the beginners area of funds, which is a good thing, as it'll mean you still have to learn to tune properly first, rather than letting technology do it for you.
12. Hnmm, if it doesn't go up by too much, could be an excellent buy. I'm presuming that's a refinish (kinda) rather than just a loose cover, so if you could get it for 4-500 for a Stingray, factor in a professional refinish, and you'll probably be quids in.
13. Doesn't the Squire 5 string jazzer get good raves? I believe there is a review in the review section for it.
14.
Thanks for the review. I've been looking at these but couldn't find almost any information about them. Great specs and some very interesting concepts. How does the semi-tube poweramp stage work? I'm looking to get a valve hybrid for my Schro 410L (that hopefully will be here soon....) ....aguilar DB750 is one candidate but very expensive...
If it's anything like the way DHA do it, it'll reduce the output from 3w back down to line level which is then sent to the poweramp. Nifty way of getting pre & power tube noise and serious wattage for much cheaper.

16. I know my local college was offering guitar making courses, although I think last year they changed it to Violins or some other stringed instrument. If you're looking for training, check out either uni or local college evening courses. As for when you're a luthier, when you can make your own instrument from semi-raw materials imo. Like a blacksmith takes blocks of metal and forges them into shapes and other objects.
17. That's quite tasty
18. I'm not normally a fan of how Wal's look, the wood choices don't do it for me on some instruments, but that black finish makes it look utterly fantastic.
19. The sale forum might have one: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;#entry38289
20. There's no best tab site, I like Ultimate-guitar myself, and I use bass-masta on occasion. 911 tabs is a tab searching site, really useful for finding tabs. Ultimate guitar has pulled up a guitar AND Bass tab in one though, have fun with itL http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/c/css/...m_above_tab.htm
21. Warm up exercises before putting on the 'Ray, just simple streches and rotations to loosen it up. And a wider/padded strap to help with the weight if it's an issue.
22. Zing: http://billfitzmaurice.com/Ordering.html
23. Cheers for the information, and yes, I did grab the titles from the previous sales link, but they are the brands that appear on other listings. looks like I'll be on the lookout for an Aria/Arbiter/CMI one then if I do decide to take the plunge and grab one cheaply.
24. Daft question, but what "brands" are the best for Rick copies, ie, the most authentic and sturdy? I hear: shaftesbury, hondo, aria, kay and ibanez bounded around alot. I'm possibly looking into possibly getting some jap-crap ricalike, so I'm trying to get clued up.
25. Gordon bennett, they sound quite interesting. Shame youtube screwed with the audio.
