  1. Seems to be a distinct lack of extra length strings available for my trusty 79 stingray What do you recommend? Standard long scale used to fit, but alas, no more!
  2. I have a trace ah 130 head as a back up amp, and very good it is too, considering its modest power rating, it is fairly loud and punchy. I also use the smx compressor pedal which is great, having seperate high and low compression.
  3. a longer scale length is recommended...ie....35/36....having said that, my status shark 5 has a fairly tight punchy B string (125 gauge),and the bass has a 34inch scale!!!...indeed, i have played basses with a 35 scale and they too have the floppy B. work that one out.
  4. does this have a truss rod?
  5. thinking of possibly pulling the trigger on one of these!...i like the burgandy mist. has anyone tried one? whats it like compared with a fender? l like the quality hardware and graphite reinforced neck, they seem well made! are there any other basses at this price point that will better this one? cheers
  6. it depends on the music you play as to what bass is required, be it 4,5 and 6 string, having said that, a 4 string covers most!.
  7. I take it the neck plate is three bolt with a working micro-tilt?
  8. the kappalite is a superb driver, but i would be inclined to buy a cheaper eminence ceramic 200-250w .... far cheaper and will still sound good. the cab design will not be optimised for the kappalite!

  10. replacement original aguilar speaker driver....i bought this after discovering the speaker in my DB 112 had been replaced with a non standard 12!...never got round to fitting it, and no longer have the cab, speaker boxed and willing to ship if buyer sorts courier. 8 ohms
  11. stunning power amp!...i,m sure Jim Bergantino recommended these... praise indeed!!
  12. nice bass!....what weight is it?
  13. Sold a pair of berg cabs to Geoff, top geezer and a pleasure to deal with.
  14. I have tried both and find the front ported HF, far better tone wise than the HR. seems to throw the sound better, slightly more volume. lower mids nicer. in short, i would put up with the size and weight penelty for a better sound
  15. i agree with mykesbass!
  16. Up for grabs are my pair of bergantino hs 210s complete with berg covers these cabs are in superb condition.... no dents in the grills carpet covering in top condition(no rips or tears) new plastic corners fitted(like for like)so no new holes made. hs means high sensitivity!..meaning, they can be driven to good levels with smaller amps. plenty of info on talkbass about these cabs....will try to get some pics soon.
  17. got the atk 300, and again, a very good bass.
  18. cool bass, what does it weigh in at?
  19. Hello folks, with the early stingray being a (string through body) bridge, i am interested in suggestions for strings(roundwound)....some long scale strings don't fit..too short so, which make would you suggest! thankyou
  20. cheers dood, d'addario been in touch, hopefully get it sorted
  21. Well, I was getting down to my last pack of strings, so I bought three new packs. To my horror, when fitting a new set, I found the scale length of the new strings to be shorter!!..the main body of the string finishing short of the nut. all three packs are the same! Just for info, the bass is a musicman (through body bridge) I have used these strings for years and they used to fit perfectly. which strings should I now use?.40-95 gauge.
  22. bit sloppy!
  23. I am lead to believe cort actually make the lakland skyline basses, they are then shipped to the us for final set-up...please correct me if I am wrong!
  24. In the words of Bernard Mathews....that is BOOTIFUL
