1. I must admit attention may have drifted slightly, but I thought it was his own bass. Either way, I have spent decades as a Fender player and have now defected to Gibson, but can't imagine me playing a Rickenbacker!
 2.
He doesn't seem keen on it
But it IS his bass, and he has owned it for over 40 years! Maybe no one will take it off his hands. I've never had any interest in Rickenbackers, I think they look garish and toy-like. Gibson Thunderbird, now THAT's a real bass guitar!
 3.
I like that. Blue
Cheers, Blue!
 4.
£479. The same price as some high end delay pedals. Not bad at all!
Waiting until September is a high end delay in my book!
 5.
There are probably support groups for that
Too late for that now!
 6. Ordered. I'll be surprised (but very pleased!) if it does arrive in early September, let's see! If it does, I'll have bought three Thunderbirds in under four months!
 7. I'll be sorry to see this go, but I have to make some room in the house, too many basses here!
 8. I am still bruising my shins on this combo, time it left!
 9. We play a few country type songs at some gigs, I use my Thunderbird, round wounds and a pick.
 10.
Hmm.. that is getting a bit tempting. I am sure there are going to be a flood of vintage classic tbirds coming up for sale soon!
Nah, I'm going to have to offload a couple of Fenders to make room for more T Birds. Just back from the Gibbo's second gig of the weekend.
 11. Another local gig, in Witney, last night. Standard pub gig, not as many as we'd like to have seen in the audience, possibly a result of the pub failing to advertise the gig anywhere inside or outside the pub, or on their Facebook page. We had a good time, though!
 12.
I've never been to the UK. As a kid I always heard the phrase "Foggy London Town". I thought it was just a joke thing. My point, is it ever nice outside? Blue
It was pouring with rain when I loaded up for tonight's gig, raining as I drove there, raining while I unloaded the car, still raining after the gig when we reloaded the cars, still raining just now when I unpacked the car at home.
 13. We played the Follyfest in Faringdon last night. Main stage, 8 pm, a good slot, but a wet one. Still had a reasonable crowd watching us, dancing in the rain! It was our fifth year there and I'm sure we'll be there again next year too.
 14.

No, over here!
 15.
Not to cause any friction, but I detect a linguistic nuance between '...it would be odd...' and '...I am odd'. There is nothing accusatory in the former, and the deduction of the latter seems exaggerated, to me. es, FD, you are odd, but not for those reasons..!
I'm just here for the laughs, really, if someone says it would be odd to do something that I do, I am prepared to twist it around
 16.
If that's what you think I said.
Based on you saying this:
I enjoy bass solos. It would be odd for any BC members not to enjoy them.
I think you'd have to agree I'm right.
 17.
That's reinforcing my assertion that bass is not a solo instrument.
Yes, but it also contradicts your statement that it would be odd for a Basschat member not to enjoy them. I am a Basschat member, and I do not particularly enjoy bass solos, so I have assume that by your definition I am odd. I reckon I can live with it, though!
 18. I had to make the change from finger style (played that way for 40 years) to pick early last year when a motorcycle accident left me unable to use my right hand properly. I would say it has taken me a year to become comfortable with a pick, now I don't really notice it and my playing sounds very similar, but with a bit more definition, which I like.
 19.
I enjoy bass solos. It would be odd for any BC members not to enjoy them. Bass is not an instrument that non-bassists and in particular, non musos, would choose as the only musical accompaniment to a song however.
I'm not a fan of bass solos at all, especially that last more than 4 bars.
 20.
Aye, and also to when I perform open-heart surgery. Coat.
I'd be a little worried about a surgeon who operated with flair and originality!
 21. My main band describes its style as 'Funky Psychedelic Blues Rock'. Where's the option for that in the poll??
 22.
Thanks guys Retired last year so a lot more time on my hands so should be easy. Still to get details of the set list but i'm actually quite excited about it. Don't know how you can cope with 7 bands at one time tho FinnDave. Dave
They don't all play on the same day. Sometimes, not even in the same year!
 23. Two bands at the same time? You've got it easy, I am in at least 7 at the moment, it keeps changing though!
 24.
I wonder what the price will be....
I'm guessing/hoping it'll be around the 500 mark. They say it replaces the classic pro iv, and that goes for under 400, so it could be under 500.
