1.
That's the advantage of using my parents spare bedroom for extra storage! It has the added bonus of stopping the missus finding out out how many basses I actually have Go for it FinnDave, they are great basses
I have!
 2. Our ex-singer often used to ask us to go up half a semitone. I actually bought a fretless just to piss her off!
 3. I'll keep my eyes and ears open, though I expect your gear will be further away than Witney.
 4.
Got the T-Bird bug at the mo Dave
I found the cure, but it involves money!
 5.
Are any of the retailers doing pre-order on the new Epi T-Bird?
You're as bad as me! (well, nearly, anyway!)
 6. You'd think a singer would be able to practice anywhere, a tape/cd/whatever of the songs in the car should give them plenty of time to get it right. Playing bass in the car would be a bit more difficult.
 7. Getting a singer to learn lyrics seems to be an uphill struggle. I used to play with (in the musical sense!) a former 'rock star' singer who never seemed able (or maybe willing) to learn the words to the songs, even the ones she chose. I still cringe at the memory of her telling the audience that the next song was a real favourite of hers, that it really meant so much to her, and them proceeded to pull a sheet with the lyrics on out of her bag and read them as she sang.
 8.
Just wondering if I can justify another one!
Blimey mate, looking at your sig I can only wish I had space for that many! A few hours thinking time down the pub has failed to dampen my enthusiasm...
 9. What changed with the Gibsons in 2013?
Yeah cheap women, cider and a game of bingo but still
10. Very nice, not helping me to resist my Thunderbird lust!
 11.
Plectrum or fingers, all the Epi Thunderbirds I've played have had similar ergonomics. I really think it's something you can get on with or you can't.
As a finger player, only my right thumb was resting on the bass (usually against the pickup) so there wasting to stop the neck from diving. As a pick player, my right forearm rests on the body of the bass, and helps keep it in place.
 12. Last time i tried one in a shop, I was still able to play finger style, so the neck dive was a real issue, so I didn't buy it. I must try one again, now that I'm pick only.
 13.
Janita?
Yes, that's the one. She often referred to herself as a diva (tongue in cheek) but it could be true quite often as well.
 14. I've never heard of Eich, but I have had a Super Twin for nearly 4 years (I have the first one they made) and use it with an Ashdown ABM 500 head (also a 600 head, bought recently). I have used for well over 100 gigs and the amp has never needed to above 1/3 volume, and we are not a quiet band! It is an excellent cab which looks and sounds as good as the day I collected it from Barefaced.
 15.
Are Epiphone Thunderbirds neck through or bolt on? I forget. Blue
I think they have both in the range. I am sorely tempted by a through neck Epi, always like the way they looked, and now that I have to play with a pick, I don't think the neck dive would be a problem (it isn't with my JCB)
 16.
When you use one of those meters, you have to take into account that American imperial units (Careys) differ from British imperial units (Cowells). European divas are, of course, measured in Björks.
My band has a customised Diva meter, the scale goes from zero to Haan. Considerable experience went into the calibration of the unit.
 17. The only bands I can remember quitting were too far away and the driving time and petrol money became an issue. I try not to join bands I feel I won't enjoy playing with.
 18. I really fancy trying a Thunderbird simply because they look so cool. Whatever I have bought over the years, I always end up playing a Precision or a Jazz, but can't stop myself experimenting! One day I'll find myself in a music shop in a moment of weakness and I'll own one.
 19. A few months ago I'd have said my Ashdown Touring combo, but that's now up for sale. I can't imagine parting with my Barefaced Super Twin, or my white Precision...but situations and priorities change, things you love with all your heart can become just objects you need to get rid of. And you can't take any of it with you when you leave this world, I'd rather see my gear passed on to people who will use it than to hang on to it until the bitter end.
 20. Great tip, must get some guitar brackets!
 21. Just back from an excellent night, playing in a brewery! Free beer on tap...but as we were all driving home, the intake was limited. Plenty of room, good acoustics, and a receptive and enthusiastic audience and staff. The only downside was that the audience numbers were low due a music festival in town, but those who were there saw probably the best gig we have played this year.
 22.
No worries Dave .....Hawkwind were fantastic weren't they
Absolutely brilliant. I thought the Buxton gig would be difficult to top, but they did that and more. And what a venue!
 23.
Played a hour long set last night at a small venue just up the road from the Roundhouse before the Hawkwind gig. Was more than happy that we got around 30 people along just to see us I didn't play my best i have to be honest.....the venue was sweltering but it all seemed to come together with the crowd seemingly enjoying it which is good enough for me
There would have been four more, but we were stuck in traffic. Hope to catch your band soon though.
 24.
Dave, The caliber of musicians in Milwaukee that I would love to play with is a pretty exclusive group. Sometime you just can't get to that next level, we just can't figure it out. I don't think I'm alone here. Blue
No, the music is probably equally divided everywhere, there is a level above regular pub & small festival gigs that seems impossible to get into here as well.
 25.
Ha, I still can't handle imperial measurements even after years of old car tinkering!
I can work in metric units, but have to convert them in my head to visualise them. I have plenty of imperial tools around from messing about with Harley Davidson.
