1. Just listened to my recording from last night, sound quality was not good, combination of a booming hollow stage and house PA not quite up to the job, but that voice comes through clearly....makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time she goes for those high notes. Most of the audience had no idea who she was, and were clearly stunned to hear a voice of that quality in their pub!
 2.
Small world, tomorrow I'm playing with Ed Spevock, Babe Ruth's drummer from 1973.
I'll mention that to Jenny. I know the band is playing at a festival in the States this summer.
 3. Just back from the gig, went well, but need a night's sleep and a listen to the recording to know how we played, Audience certainly liked it.
 4. You have no idea how weird it is to sit here looking at these clips when we'll be setting up on stage together in an hour's time! Usual singers are the guitarist and the harp player (who does 4 number in the set only). Guitarist relieved to be able to concentrate on guitar and bvs.
 5. It's actually our kitchen, the MiL lives with us. Jenny H. was helping her unpack her shopping, she does some work with elderly folk. Just a chance remark from the MiL that Jenny 'does a bit of singing' that lead to an increasingly bizarre conversation as I slowly realized who I was talking to! I gave her one of our CDs and she said she'd like to sing with us sometime, if the rest of the band didn't mind!
 6.
Interesting typo in the end credits too - unless there was an artist in the 70's called 'Bonnie Raith'??
Wasn't she known for her thlide guitar playing?
 7. That clip was from 40 years ago! I had to check the decades off on my fingers to make sure, I was sure the 70s weren't that long ago.
 8. One of the best parts of the story so far is that the rest of band seemed to think I was winding them up, or had spent too long over the road in my local. When she turned up on Thursday, they still weren't completely convinced until she started to sing. The look on their faces was priceless! Sadly, I had a bass in my hands, not a camera.
 9. I don't think any of us can compete with the past, sadly.
 10.
MB1. Agreed though,Great Voice! ...This Weeks Outstanding Kitchen Find!
A new weekly challenge?
 11.
Where is Betafunk? I seem to remember he has got a bit of a thing for that girl from Babe Ruth. I just hope he is prepared for what the ravages of time can do.
Well, she's not 20 years old any more, but she's far from ravaged by time...she takes care of herself. And that voice can still make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Can't wait to see how tonight's audience reacts when she joins us!
 12.
Wow, what a find, think a black dog clip appeared on a BBC doc a while back Have a great gig !

Wow, what a find, think a black dog clip appeared on a BBC doc a while back Have a great gig !
Thanks, looking good, I spoke with her this morning and she is dead keen on getting on stage.
 13. There's only one right answer (though I could go and see if there is anyone else hiding in the kitchen!). Deaver was on the money, Jenny Haan it is.
 14. Well, if you've listened to the clip I posted, you can hear she still has that voice! That was recorded at rehearsal, she arrived straight from work at half eight, suffering from a cold, singing in a coat and scarf to keep warm. So looking forward to tonight's gig!
 15.
Jenny Haan?
Bingo!
 16. Interesting choice, but she doesn't seem to have done a lot of singing. A lot of singers, maybe.... but not our girl
 17.
Janette Krankie. Where do I claim my prize?
You just lost it!
 18.
Jenny Argutter?
You should get half a point for getting one part
 19.
Did you revive Janis in your kitchen ?
I tried, but was rather too late.
 20.
Jeremy Paxman??
What he does on his days off is supposed to remain secret!
 21.
Sonja Kristina?
mmmmmm...but true, doesn't start with a J
 22. Got to agree that Maggie Bell is a fantastic singer, but so is J........
 23. Maggie Bell was suggested earlier, right era and style, but my kitchen find is not Scottish!
