  1. I'd be looking for £400 and I'll pay the post/courier. I have the amp's original box, so should be secure. The price includes the Roqsolid cover.
  2. Most of the gigs I've played in proper venues (as opposed to most of them which have been in the corner of pubs) my bass has been DI'd and mic'd, the sound man (or quite often sound woman) has blended the two to taste. No one has complained about the bass sound - then again, it's very rare that anyone says anything about the bass sound!
  3. Does the next line ends in 'custard'?
  4. That's the easy bit - but rhyming it with fantasy takes some balls!
  5. Nik Turner managed a classic that I can never get out of my head for its sheer cheek. From xitintoday: Am I still on Venus? Though this does feel Atlantisy Have I been asleep? Is this just a fantasy?
  6. Hope it all continues to go well.
  7. I can't remember any music from 1990, I was immersed in fatherhood with the birth of our second daughter, and working on Saturday Night Clive. I might have gone to see Eric Clapton at the RAH, wife (at the time) and I saw him there a few times when our girls were young.
  8. Thanks. I know it doesn't help, but I didn't vote for it!
  9. The East pre amp was fitted in late 2019 by John East shorty after I bought the bass. I sat in his workshop while he fitted it. Lovely chap, very knowledgeable and very friendly.
  10. Good to know, I had no idea what was used and when. Sounds great with the East pre-amp in it, but I have too many basses and something has to go.
  11. Which just goes to show how important it is to try these things out - we have completely different experiences of the same instrument.
  12. I play my Casady using a pick and don't suffer from neck dive or forward tilt as my picking hand forearm rest on the bass and keeps it where it belongs.
  13. I'd be looking selling the cab with the Roqsolid cover for £750.00 collected or meet - I don't want to courier it. It hasn't been out of my sight since I collected it from Barefaced.
  14. I haven't listed to a studio album for years - only live and only the Dead. Got a shelf fill of of Road Trips, Richard's Picks and Dave's Picks and still subscribe to Dave's - most recent CD arrived a week ago. I so have most of the Dead's studio output but mostly its only been played the once.
  15. I don't think so, just the standard Fender pick ups as fitted to the active Jazz. Only the pre-amp has been changed from the original to one by John East. The original pre-amp will be included with the bass, but the East pre is much better and I doubt that anyone would want to change back to the Fender after trying it!
  16. I played with a couple of former band mates at a rehearsal studio a few days before Christmas. We are hoping to get a few gigs together sometime. I put my bass in its case when I was leaving the studio and haven't opened the case since. Zero motivation to play with nothing on the horizon.
  17. I've got an RM 800 head, can't remember what evo number and it's on the other side of the room with a cover over it - far too difficult to check! I use mine with a Barefaced Super Compact, works well for most gigs. I have a Trace Elliot Elf in my bag as a backup which I also use for small gigs (even less to carry).
  18. I know of at least one Sandberg for sale on this forum - mine isn't a five string, though.
  19. I was one of the first to fail last year with a spontaneous purchase of a two grand Sandberg at the beginning of January. Since then I've only played it a handful of times and have ben trying to sell it fir some time now. So far this year I don't think I've played a single note.
  20. I thought it was probably at the Sun. Feels a like a different world now.
  21. No, it's got plenty of heft, oomph, depth - whatever the magic is, this rig's got it. I'm fairly sure you've heard it in action, probably at a Wirebirds gig in Swindon.
  22. This bass has now been sold Fender Jazz Bass de-luxe with East pre-amp. Original Fender pre-amp included. Price now dropped to £600.00 I have had the bass a little over a year, but even with the East J Retro de luxe (fitted by John East himself while I waited) I still prefer the simplicity of a passive bass Good condition, rosewood fingerboard, tortoiseshell scratch plate. No hard case included, but will include a Fender gig bag. Collection or meet up preferred, but I do have a bass box if the buyer is willing to risk post/courier.
  23. To be honest, Dave, that's why I can't ride anymore. I'd had 40 years on two wheels and no accidents and I considered myself a good rider - always aware of everything around me, but to this day I have no idea where she came from - totally out of the blue. I concluded as I recovered that my carefully cultivated all round awareness had failed me and it was time to stop. Took me a while to reach that conclusion, as I was still in wheelchair when I got my mate to drive me to Southampton where I bought a lovely Evo Wide Glide and got it back to a local workshop for fettling, but when the bike was ready, I just couldn't face it. I still see it around here from time to time - bloody good bike!
