I'm selling this on behalf of a friend who recently gave up playing. US Standard P bass made in 2001, generally very good condition apart from some small nicks and scratches here and there (I tried to photograph them but it's almost impossible on a black bass!). Weight is 4kg, comes with a Fender hard case. Looking for £500 plus shipping. The bass is in London but delivery is possible within a reasonable distance of the M25 or shipping within the UK is fine.
Great board! The OC-2 and meatbox together must be terrifying
Thanks! Sadly had to take the Meat Box off temporarily while I sort out a separate supply for it - it buzzes way too much when wired up with everything else.
Now this board excites me, I wanna hear what you do with it! Si
I'm aiming to get a little bit of video done in the next week or so, I'm still working on finding the most obnoxious sounds possible!
Not saying too much....but there should be some box of meat style sound-boxes coming soon, for the masses.....well....a few of the masses lol
I'd be really interested if someone could do a meat box clone and incorporate a micro-thumpinator... Laurence Cottle transcription -- Quite Firm
TKenrick replied to jj1234's topic in Theory and Technique
Looks great John, I've been meaning to transcribe some Cottle for a while so thanks for saving me more than a few hours! Looking forward to getting my teeth into this one... Nice looking site as well! Tom -
In my opinion the chord symbol given for the V chord is incorrect- whoever wrote it out means b13, not #5. The lick in bar 2 is b9 (Db), then an approach into the major 3rd from a semitone below (Eb - E), 5 (G) and then b9 (Db) again. Tom

New to Transcribing - album or individual tracks?
TKenrick replied to Dash's topic in Theory and Technique
I'm a big fan of transcription - a couple of years ago I took 18 months off playing due to tendonitis and spent the bulk of that time writing down as many different things as possible. I don't get to spend as much time on it as I'd like at the moment but it's one of the most beneficial activities for expanding your playing (not to mention general musicianship). A few of things that I'd recommend keeping in mind: - Transcribe a wide range of material, not just bass - Don't transcribe things just 'for the sake of it'. Go after the things that appeal to you musically, otherwise the value of the transcription process is limited. - Some people advocate transcribing solely 'by ear', away from an instrument. Whilst this is undoubtedly a very impressive feat, I find it a waste of time. My objective when doing a transcription is to get it on paper (or into Sibelius/Finale) as quickly and accurately as possible. To that end, I use a keyboard and, where necessary, slow things down in quicktime to make sure I've got everything spot on. - Learn everything that you transcribe. If you've written out something played by another instrument then it might need some rearranging to make it work on a bass. - Start off small and be patient! As far as the tracks vs. whole albums question goes, I've only ever done one whole album (Me'shell Ndegeocello's Peace Beyond Passion). It depends how much you want to absorb the sound of a certain player. Sometimes it's not necessary to even do an entire songs, a couple of licks may be enough! Tom -
Learn to read dots. It's called defferred gratification.
+1 for dots. I spent 5 years using TAB before being forced to make the switch to dots. I found it really difficult at first, but I now wouldn't go back to TAB for anything - I find TAB much more effort to read than notation. My main gripe with TAB is that it allows you to get away with knowing nothing about the instrument that you play and how music relates to it. Generally bass players (and particularly guitarists) don't know where to find notes on the fretboard across the entire range of the instrument and therefore struggle with reading. It also massively restricts your ability to communicate with other musicians.

Individual Songs Bass Score/Dots. Where from?
TKenrick replied to Carld's topic in General Discussion
I've just started an overhaul of my transcriptions page, correcting silly mistakes and replacing the old jpeg files with pdfs which should be higher quality and generally easier to download/navigate. Lots of tunes to still be uploaded, the archive should be back up to approx. 100 charts by next week! Tom -
I have both an iGig and a Protec, have to say the iGig is by far superior. I use it all the time, it's a lifesaver when taking public transport to gigs/rehearsals etc as it's comfortable, well balanced and has tons of storage space. The Protec has less space, less protection and is not as comfortable to carry around, plus the strap on mine broke last week - don't really see how they're worth £90!
Would you be interested in trading up for an ATK405?
Sorry, only looking for pedals as trade options at the moment:
The only trades I'd consider would be an Aguilar Tone Hammer DI, Aguilar AGRO distortion pedal or Sansamp BDDI
