I bought a course from Kai Eckhardt about intervals. I have a small understanding of intervals, but i am working through it, and it has bought a real understanding of the use and how they sound. It is a video course, and really easy to follow.

As it seems no one has, I will have to give it a go to see if it is any easier than simply counting

Why not cities? Some are smaller than towns. Gloucester is a city and quite small. The music scene is pretty dire mind

Has anyone used this method of counting time signatures? It seems a bit tricky to learn, and wondered if anyone has experience of it and think it is worth taking the time to learn it.

I have some custom moulded plugs made by Emtec. I am lucky as my work paid for them. They cost £80, but they are really good at background noise cancellation. Will have to wear them at next years London bass show to give them a proper test against constant noise

You really need to look at the places you want to use it. Some need the room pitch black while others can be ok with lights on. I am not sure if many are portable. Mine certainly isnt

I was learning the bass line to Pusherman by Curtis Mayfield. I liked the song so zi bought the Superfly album. It is awesome. Much more to that fellah than Move On Up

Ida Nielsen is a new one for me. I have never heard of her before. Stuart Hamm also announced who I have heard of

I just watched the Master Of Puppets version. Apparently she used the tab version. Still good though

fist of all it's all power chords played, so roots and fifth, no major/minor. Second she's not playing a B chord but a big fat E powerchord extended on five strings. 02245x. I play just 02 or 022 there.

I really dont trust the price reductions. You get inflated RRP that no one ever sells it for, and puts a lower price which is roughly what it was selling for 6 months ago. There are probably bargains out there, but not that many

I would imagine most basschatters could play most Carole Kaye bass lines if they wished, but very few of us could create a bassline for a hit record. That is what separates us from Kaye, Jamerson etc. I have no clue what hits she played on, so she could claim virtually anything and I would be none the wiser.

I used to have a Rockbass Fortress which I sold a few years back. Then I bought a Streamer LX4 Pro bass when they were sold cheap as they were bringing production back to Germany from Korea. I paid £395 from Thomann which was great value. Really pleased with it.
Incidentally, when i saw my first Spector, i thought they were probably owned by the same company. I have learned something from this thread

i first heard Money via Sleeping Dogs video game about 4 years or so ago. i started listening to her music from that point.
As for not making it, I think she would have been a reasonably big star if she was around in the late 60' s early 70's. she had the perfect sound for that soul era.

Does anyone remember Dave Swift's talk at the Addlestone bass bash? He was talking about playing with Jools Holland, and he put some embellishments in. He said Jools would raise his eyebrows and say something on the lines of it being over the top, so he didn't do it again. Seems it happens to some of the best
