I have just got home. It was a good day. I watched some of Doug Wimbish. I wasn`t that impressed really. He seemed to be playing his bass like a guitar. Jah Wobble was good. I watched about 20 minures of Divinity Roxx. I didn`t think i would like her stuff, but she knows how to play bass. Probably the highlight, as i never expected her to be so good. Quite disappointing in the fact that there were 3 left handers that i saw.A rather nice fretless 5 string Rikkers, a Sandberg, and a hofner. I had to walk away from the Hofner. It was a good deal, but still couldn`t stretch to £1500. After having a good chat with Mark Gooday, i will definately be getting an Ashdown CTM-15

I see. Thanks. I still think £200 is excessive, but i suppose it saves some money on needing a special case for the head for storage. I am very tempted. Is it worth it just for a pracice amp? I do like the thought of trying out a vavle head without spending over a grand to try one.

I was looking at this item, thinking it would be nice to own. Is there a reason that it is so expensive, or do you need a special amp for a valve head? Can you use any cab with this? Surely there would be cheaper cabs that could be used just as well.

I look at the amps and cabs section every day looking for something to take my fancy. I see a lot of Pm`d messages, and the seller saying still up for sale a few days later. I always wonder if it is down to people wasting the sellers time. 3.5 hours is very harsh though. I woiuld at least wait till the next day and pm asking if buyer is still interested.If no reply 3.5 hours later, then i would think it would be ok to sell to the reserve

The first time i have listened to any of their stuff. In my opinion, they aren`t worth as much attention as they seem to get, but not bad. There are better new rock bands around that i would rather listen to. Nice to see a rock band getting attention though.

Is it any good though?

I suppose it is because Pino isn`t part of The Who. I doubt many people know or care who Pino is. I only know about him via the forum when i took up bass. It is always going to be hard to take over from an iconic player, no matter how good or revered amongst bass players Pino is.

I changed strings to D`ddarrio. They didn`t sound much better than the original strings i had when i bought the bass. I thought i would try La Bella flat wounds. I had no idea what a flatwound sounded like. Now i have tried them I think it sounds much better than my round wounds.
