POLL!
You know what mate, I'm really not surprised. Not these days. Unless it's got at least 500,000 hits on youtube it's not worth the bother. And even then most peeps will only watch it hoping it's something they can take the piss out of or criticise.
Youtube shows how shallow people are. I like watching videos of people playing along to my favourite tracks. If you watch some videos with pretty girls, they get 1 million plus hits, and people going on about them being virtuos`s playing along to RHCP. Then you watch the same song played superbly by some plain Jane or male, and hits of 2000
3. Barring illness, i will definitaly be there on Saturday.

POLL!

I only found out about it because i am recently becoming more interested in equipment for recording. There seems to be a lot of people on the forum that don`t venture much down the bottom of the page, so perhaps it needs moving to general topic.First time this month i have voted, and was quite surprised by the quality of the recordings that were entered.
5. If you haven`t left for the audition yet, Best of luck
6.
My decision goes to old ben though, i cant resist a good bit of riffage!
I voted the same for the same reason
7.
Playing with the horn can be quite tricky...
lol
8. I can see why not many people enter. The competition is very strong. All very good compositions in thier own way. Well done to all that entered a piece.
9. I use the same line as the wife when she suddenly has new clothes. " What that old thing? I`ve had that for ages"
10. Have you thought about going to a tutor? You would only need one lesson, because any decent tutor should show you the right positioning of your hand and fingers in that lesson
11. At this current time mine has to be an Eden EC10. Only amp i have ever bought, so an easy choice
12.
This was David's band, Apartment.
I would have paid money to see his band live. I enjoyed that video
13. You could say fortunately. It just proves that bass players do have some intelligence

Amp class

I see a lot of mention of D class amp, or A class amp . What does it mean. I tried searching for the answer, but couldn`t find an explaination
16.
Here's my entry... Excuse all dodgy playing of the guitar... https://soundcloud.c...volution-master
Very good. I like the title of the track
17.
What the hell is anyone doing storing guitars in an attic anyway ?? Have you been up there in the summer - feckin' hot like an oven, and winter - like a bleedin' walk in freezer. You want to shag your prized instruments to death, then carry on. You've only got yourself to blame when they're split, rusty and warped. 'Kin hell !!!
I think you need to read the post that is just above yours. It explains the situation
18.
These are the ebay 'chord' ones, cheap enough but all metal with the centre part as a threaded solid bolt and a lock nut, the wall is compressed straw and really good for screwing straight into but I have screwed plaster board turbo fasteners in with a cordless driver they are not going anywhere and the hagers are still holding my basses up, the black SR5 weights more than that Ducati 916
Nice music stand
19. Hello Do you live close to Gloucester? There only seems to be 2 shops in Gloucester, and neither stock much in the way of basses. If you want a day out in Birmingham, Guitar Guitar could be worth going to have a look. http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/ . PMT in Oxford or Bristol have basses. http://www.pmtonline...ss-guitars/?p=3 Never been so no idea what basses they will have instore..Bass guitar shops are a little thin on the ground around here. I would add that if you don`t mind a drive Bass Direct are in Warwickshire. I bought my bass from there. They are probably our nearest bass shop. A massive range in there, but can be a bit bewidering in there. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Home.html
20. Have you got a cool, dry room you can put them in. It should bring the bass back slowly , and shouldn`t twist. I am not 100% because a bass will be laquered , but untreated wood warps if it is dried out to quickly
21.
Can you buy stuff at the show? I'm after a new bass.....
Yes. You can buy all sorts of bespoke and off the shelf basses. There are lots of bass realted stuff for sale, including amps
22. The head has been stored indoors in a case under the stairs. It hasn`t a mark on it, and looks as good as you would expect from a well looked after 30 year bit of kit.The cab, has been stored in a shed. It has no water or damp damage. No idea what it is like internally though. It has a tear in the tolex where is was caught on the car taking it out of the boot. The wood is still in good condition where it is ripped with no water marks. So i have basically got to see how much it would cost to get the caps done then. So it is best not to turn it on until it has been checked? Thanks
23. I have an opportunity to get one of these heads plus cab from around 1977. It has not been used for 15 years . I have been told by someone not too turn it on as it has been sat a long time, and it could damage it badly. Something about dry joints. Is that true? Should i get it checked over before attempting to switch it on?
24. Ok, Thanks. That is also an interesting read
25. I thought it was an interesting clip.Although it is a guitar, i imagine the principle is the same. It shows what happens with the strings when plucked. http://digg.com/video/what-guitar-strings-are-doing-up-close
